1. PRODUCT PRESENTATION
Visel Q-Retail 3 is the third generaon of classic queuing system be able to manage, through a stan-
dalone device, the turn cket and any type of mulmedia content streaming like as digital signage.

2. FIRST INSTALLATION
The system core is the mini-pc with Android OS. It has many I/O ports: 3 x USB, HDMI, one audio di-
gital OPTICAL output and a Gigabit ETHERNET connector.
The rst installaon step is plug QS-RETAILBOX to your monitor with HDMI cable and plug-in the power sup-
ply.
Congure for LAN connecon
Q-Retail works beer if connected to Internet, possibly by LAN cable. It is precongured for obtain automa-
cally an IP address (DHCP is enabled). If you need to congure Q-Retail with manually ip, please follow these
simple steps:
1. Plug an usb mouse in an USB port
2. Right click to close Q-Retail app
3. Go to Android sengs
4. Select “Other” from le, then “Ethernet” and nally “Advanced conguraon”
5. Unselect “DHCP” and setup your LAN parameters
Congure for WiFi connecon
Is also possible to connect Q-Retail via WiFi. Follow previous steps up to point “3” and then:
4. Enable “WiFi” if not enabled
5. Select your WiFi name, enter the correct password and wait unl the device is connected.

3. CONFIGURATION
Q-Retail 3 conguraon is very simple by the Q-Discovery tool. Q-Discovery is included with one CD
in the package or you can download from web here:

Aer the installaon on a PC connected under the same subnet mask of Q-Retail LAN, run it through the link
on your Desktop.
To start Q-Retail conguraon click on “Search devices...”. Q-Discovery will search Q-Retail and will show it
on the found devices list.

In the case of the automac search does not produce results, you can search for a product via its IP address
by clicking the “Find by IP ...”: a secondary window will ask you to enter a network address (Fig. 4)

Acons on the device
Select the device from list and press one of these buons:
Idenfy
An ulity to know on which device you are working. Aer you click this buon will appear on the device mo-
nitor an informaon message with device name and rmware version.
Reboot System
Click this buon to reboot device.
Acvate
All our devices are pre-acvated by default. In other case, if your device request an acvaon you will need
an acvaon key to paste into the window will appear aer click this buon.
Sengs
Is used to manage device sengs.

General parameters
Blinks
Set number of call’s box ashes for the incaming call.
Sound
Set the incoming call sound.
Turn label
Change the text of the upper right label.
Numbers stay me
Regulate the stay me on screen for call’s boxes. When the stay me will be reached, Q-Retail will minimize
the call’s boxes like as the picture (Fig. 6).

Custom logo and its posion
Set your custom logo and its posion: top-le, boom-le or boom-right. Supported formats are: JPG, BMP,
PNG, GIF.
Operang mode - Monoservice or Mulservice
In this secon you can choose the queue server operang mode. Q-Retail can manage up to two queues with
one QS-KEYPAD. If you need two services is enough to check the second box and setup the service name.
Oponally, you can choose also the color of both services, to dierenate the ow and help your incoming
users.
Numero digit
In alcuni casi è ule estendere il conteggio da 000 a 999. Q-Retail ore la possibilità di gesre numerazioni
no a mille cket. Selezionando 2 cifre o 3 cifre, entrambi i box visualizzeranno il numero di digit scel.
Digital signage elements
The digital signage elements manager (Playbox) is improved in this rmware version. You will be able to ma-
nage each le like as TV direcon.
Media nave resoluon
1440x900 (Medias with dierent resoluon will be auto-stretched up to monitor resoluon)

JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG (also with alpha channel)

MP4, M4V, MOV, AVI

The playlist can be managed with these six buons:
Adds a le to playlist.
Remove a le from playlist.
Adds a streaming ow by URL.
Move up an element.
Move down an element.
Duplicate the element in playlist.
Manage the element properes
Each element, aer is added to playlist, has some customizable properes. To change its, make a double-click
on desidered element:

Path
Show the element source path. This eld is not editable.
Title
A custom tle for idenfy this element in the playlist.
Time to live
Set the element’s live me. somemes this control is disable, for example for audio and video les with whi-
ch Q-Retail will be able to calculate the duraon.
Volume
Set the element’s volume. This control is disable for image les.
Weather e Feeds
How we told before, Q-Retail shows informaons on weather forecasts and rss feeds.
City for forecasts
Click on below box and select your favorite city:

Enter the name of your city and press “ENTER” or click on “Search...”. Select the correct city and press “Cho-
ose”. If the search process will fail, search on a web search engine (like as Google) your city’s WOEID.
Feeds managements
Click on box below and manage your feeds that will appear on the boom of monitor:
How the Fig.9 shows, is possible to add, move, edit and remove text messages or RSS sources. If you add a
text message, it will slide from right to le with yellow color. Otherwise, if you add an RSS source, Q-Retail
will get all tles and will show its one aer the other with white color.
The showing order is the same of the conguraon: in this example Q-Retail will show the text “Ulm’ora
dalla pagina di ANSA” and then all tles of ansa rss feed.
To conrm click on “Save”.
Vocal assistant
Q-Retail implements an internal Text-to-speech engine. In this new version it can manage the volumes of
media player to prevent any possible waveform overlap.
Enable the pronunciaon of incoming calls and voice messages
By checking this box you enable the Vocal Assistant.
Message before turn
Before the pronunciaon of turn number you can add addional speaking text.
Message aer turn
Aer the pronunciaon of turn number you can add addional speaking text.
Voice messages
Is also improved the management of voice messages. Is possible to create a special playlist of voice messages
and change its delay me.

Interval
Set the delay me between voice messages.

Similary how it appens in feed management, the Fig. 10 shows a similar window with voice messages mana-
gement. Each row represents one message that will be speaked from Text-to-speech engine.
4. USAGE WITH QS-KEYPAD
The basic instrument to use Q-Retail is QS-KEYPAD. Following you learn how to use this pad to mana-
ge turn numbering:

USB Receiver
Wireless Receiver for QS-KEYPAD.
Is possible to plug more QS-KEYPADs to Q-Retail
through a simple USB port hub.

5. USAGE WITH RETAIL CONSOLE
The advanced instrument to manage Q-Retail is Retail Console. It’s provided with the Soware Disc
inside the package. Install the console with RetailConsole.msi le. Aer the installaon will be complete, run
the applicaon from created link on desktop:

Change the actual service, if Q-Retail is congured on Mulservice

6. TROUBLESHOOTING
There were no parcular problems related to this product. Below we provide the quick answers to
some situaons that do not allow proper operaon.
Why aer searching devices, including via IP, the product is not detected?
We found problems with some routers / modems provided by Telecom which do not allow the passage of
informaon on some of the ports used by our products. However, the vast majority of the me is a problem
related to the fact that the device is not properly connected to the LAN. Then check the connecon by fol-
lowing the steps that are found in Ch. 2 - First installaon.
The product behaves abnormally and does not seem to respond to input. What can I do?
Generally the problem is solved by restarng the applicaon via Q-Discovery by clicking the “Reboot System”.
The product starts and shows the following message “Q-Retail has terminated abnormally”.
It is likely that in the setup operaons there may be a network error and damaged inside the sengs le. If
so follow these simple steps:
1. Connect a mouse in one of the two USB ports
2. Right-click in the center of the screen to close the applicaon
3. Go to the main menu and select the applicaon “File Manager”
4. Go to the device memory and go to the folder “visel”
5. Copy the le “sengs.xml” clicking and holding the le mouse buon
the lename. This will open a popup with some things you can do: select “Copy”.
6. Geng to the folder of your USB sck, hold the le mouse buon on any le and select
“Paste”.
7. Pull the pen drive and send the le “sengs.xml” email to [email protected] providing your
telephone number to be contacted.
