Flatbook®
Flatbook is a multifunctional cutting accessory,
designed exclusively for the Matrix® & Matrix Duo®
Laminating Systems.
Keep this manual safe for future reference.

Assembling the Matrix Flatbook.
1. Using a rule. Mark the centre of
your laminating roll.
2. Move the Flatbook unit so the
centre line on the Flatbook is in line
with the mark on your lm.
3. Remove the clear safety cover.
4. Place removed cover on the rear of
the unit. Magnets will hold in place.
5. Pull out the locking device and
gently lower the Flatbook blades
onto the lm.
6. Measure spine width of your book
and adjust blades to the required
spine width, once set, lock the 4
knobs securely.
7. Flatbook in position. 8. Run laminator with practice sheets. 9. Once the lm is running the 2 cut
lines will show.

10. Once the channel of lm is under
the spreader bar slit the cut part of
the lm using a safety cutter.
11. Film cut showing laminate free
channel.
12. Wind the waste lm onto the
take-up and tape in place.
NOTE: the waste lm feeds under the
bar as above picture.
13. Turn on the take up unit and wind
up the waste lm.
14. Feed sheet through and check
the cut out lm matches up to the
spine width.
Removing the Flatbook Blade.
1. Place Flatbook onto a at surface
and remove clear safety cover.
2. To remove blades simply unscrew
xing.
3. Take out the lock in washer and
blade (place in same order)

Cutting lm to a bespoke size.
1. Remove perforator and blade 2. Mark out how much lm is required. 3. Line up Flatbook head ensuring
that the cutting line is corresponding
to the newly marked lm.
4. Run laminator with practice sheets
and one cut line will appear, cut from
cut line to edge to fully remove
unwanted lm allowing you to cut
a bespoke size.
5. Collect the unwanted lm. 6. Tape the unwanted lm onto the
take-up (ensuring its turned on).
7. Film is now cut and ready for use.

Using the Flatbook to perforate.
1. To perforate remove all blades apart
from the perforator then position on
the edge of your lm.
2. This will help you to separate
dicult/specialist lms.
Assembling the Flatbook for use with the Matrix Duo®
1. Remove the two screws leaving
the countersunk screw in place.
4. Attach the sliding rod to the
sliding rod support with M6 screw
with washer (x2) using the 5mm allen
key and screws provided.
2. Using the 2.5mm allen key and screws
provided, fit the sliding rod support.
5. Attach the Flatbook unit to the
support arm using the screws located
on the Flatbook unit.
3. Place the sliding rod through the
support block, ensuring that the at
side is upwards.
6. Fit the end block handle to the
Flatbook unit.

Your Flatbook should reach you in perfect condition and is guaranteed for 1 Year from date of purchase covering
defective parts and general wear and tear; this does not cover lm jams, misfeeds or other operator related errors, which
would be chargeable. The warranty does not cover against any damages caused by operator misuse.
Your warranty will be void if the System has been modied by a third party not approved by the manufacturer (Vivid
Laminating Technologies) to carry out such alterations.
