Overview
VIVOTEK’s FD9391-EHTV is an H.265 high-efficiency outdoor dome camera, featuring
30 fps @ 4K, 8-Megapixel resolution when WDR is on. The H.265 technology enables
the cameras to provide higher and more efcient image compression rates than previous
H.264 systems. In addition, VIVOTEK’s sophisticated Smart Stream III enables the
cameras to transmit video streams with higher efciency for a desired object or area and
therefore to maximize the bandwidth usage. Combining both H.265 and Smart Stream
III, the camera can reduce both bandwidth and storage consumption up to 80% at static
or low motion scenes while maintaining crispy image quality. If preferred, when the 2MP
resolution mode is selected, the camera can deliver a 120fps frame rate.
As a professional day/night camera, the FD9391-EHTV provides WDR Pro and SNV
functions that enable users to enjoy superb imaging details in any lighting conditions. The
camera also comes with a wide horizontal view of almost 120º. The camera’s IK10-rated
housing can also provide protection against acts of vandalism and other impacts. With an
onboard heater, the camera can operate within a wide operating temperature range for the
performance and reliability in both extremely cold and warm weather.

Read Before Use
The use of surveillance devices may be prohibited by law in your country. The Network Camera
is not only a high-performance web-ready camera but can also be part of a exible surveillance
system. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the operation of such devices is legal before
installing this unit for its intended use.
It is important to first verify that all contents received are complete according to the Package
Contents listed below. Take note of the warnings in the Quick Installation Guide before the Network
Camera is installed; then carefully read and follow the instructions in the Installation chapter to
avoid damage due to faulty assembly and installation. This also ensures the product is used
properly as intended.
The Network Camera is a network device and its use should be straightforward for those who
have basic networking knowledge. It is designed for various applications including video sharing,
general security/surveillance, etc. The Configuration chapter suggests ways to best utilize the
Network Camera and ensure proper operations. For creative and professional developers, the URL
Commands of the Network Camera section serves as a helpful reference to customizing existing
homepages or integrating with the current web server.

NOTE:
Use the camera only with a DC power supply that is UL listed, and limited power source
(LPS) certied. The power supply should bear the UL listed and LPS marks. The power
supply should also meet any safety and compliance requirements for the country of use.

1.Jot down the camera's MAC address for later reference.
IMPORTANT:
The FD9391-EHTV comes with an embedded heater and requires an 802.3at PoE
switch.

2.Use the included T10 stardriver to remove the dome
cover. If local recording is preferred, install an SD
card.

3.Loosen and remove the waterproof connectors.
IMPORTANT: You should install the waterproof cable gland to the I/O routing inlet whether
you connect the I/O and power wires or not. If you leave it open, water or moisture can
destroy the camera.

4. Insert an Ethernet cable through the cable gland, and the rubber seal.

5. Insert the Ethernet cable through the components of the waterproof connector, e.g., the
rubber seal. Leave 15cm of cable length inside, counting from the edge of the aluminum
hex nut.

6. Use a crescent wrench to tighten the components of the waterproof connector. Connect
the cable to the RJ45 connector.
7. If preferred, pass power or I/O wires through the rubber seal and waterproof components
of another connector. Install and tighten the components.

1. The DO+ pin provides a 12V output, and the max. load is 50mA.
2. The max. voltage for DO- pins is 30VDC (External power).
In order to control AC devices, the following diagram can be taken into consideration.
This diagram uses a relay to control the ON/OFF condition of the AC device.
3. An external relay can be triggered by using the DO+ or by an external power source,
depending on the type of relay you use.
4. In case of using an individual relay (instead of using a relay module), for protection
against voltage or current spikes, a transient voltage suppression diode must be
connected in parallel with the inductive load.

10. You can either route cables through a routing hole on the ceiling or wall, or you can
route cables through the side of the camera. You can use the side-routing bracket to
install a 3/4" conduit. Please note that the conduit hex nut should not be larger than
35mm.

When fastening the screws, do not completely tighten the screws. Pass cables through
the routing holes, and then mount the camera by passing the screw heads through the
keyhole slots. Turn the camera counter-clock wise, and then fasten the screws.
11. Attach the included alignment sticker to a preferred location. Drill holes for mounting
screws and if preferred, drill one or two routing holes.

12. Visit VIVOTEK’s website to download and Install the "Shepherd" software utility. The
program will search for VIVOTEK Video Receivers, Video Servers or Network Cameras
on the same LAN.
Double-click on the camera’s MAC address to open a browser management session to
the camera.

13. Install the Shepherd utility, which helps you locate and congure your Network Camera
in the local network. If your camera comes without the CD, go to VIVOTEK’s website,
and locate the utility in the Downloads > Software page.

name that matches the one printed on the product label. You can then double-click on
the address to open a management session to the Network Camera.

Forceful Password Conguration
14. The first time you log in to the camera, the firmware will prompt for a password
conguration for security concerns.
14-1. Since your camera is used for the rst time, there is no password. Enter “root” as the
user name, and nothting for the password.
14-2. Enter the combination of alphabetic and numeric characters to fulll the password
strength requirement. The default name for the camera administrator is “root”, and can
not be changed.

Some, but not all special ASCII characters are supported: !, $, %, -, ., @, ^, _, and ~.
You can use them in the password combination.
14-3. Another prompt will request for the password you just congured. Enter the password
and then you can start congure your camera and see the live view.

16. Carefully tighten the retention screws on the side of the camera lens.
15. With a live view displayed on your laptop, adjust the pan and tilt angles to obtain
an optimal image. Check the live view to ensure the shooting direction and image
coverage.
