You can connect the charger to the cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle with the aid of the supplied
adaptercablewithvehicleplug(17).Switchofftheignitionandotherconsumersbeforepluggingin.Note

terminal on the outside and positive terminal on the tip on the inside. Charging via this adapter works only
if the cigarette lighter is connected to permanent positive. It must, therefore, work even when the ignition is
off.

then pull the cable ends apart. Never pull on the cables with force before opening the locking mechanism.

andcheckseachindividualchargingfunction.TheindicatorLEDslightupbriey.
This charger has an automatic memory function, i.e. it automatically returns to the last selected charging
mode when it is connected to the AC power supply of the grid.
• Now select a charging function with the MODEbutton(1).PressthebuttonuntiltheLEDorLEDsofthedesired
functionlightup.Foradescriptionoftheindividualchargingmodes,see‘b)Chargingmodesandfunctions’below.
Only connect the adapter cable to the battery to be charged. Never connect directly to other devices.
• Now connect the charger to the battery. Please observe the correct polarity. Connect the battery with the correct
polarity. The red adapter cable to the positive terminal, the black adapter cable to the negative terminal. Discon-
nectthecableoftheredandblackterminalsonthebatteryterminals.Screwtheeyeletconnectionrmlyontothe
terminalcontacts(redandblackterminalandeyeletconnection,black=negativeterminal,red=positiveterminal).
The cigarette lighter adapter simply plugs into the cigarette lighter socket of the vehicle.
Ifyouarecharginginstalledbatterieswithaconnectedon-boardelectricalsystem,rstconnectthepositive
terminal,andthencliptheblackterminaltoearth(body),atsomedistancefromthebatteryandthefuel
pipe.Checkthermconnectionoftheterminals.
• Disconnect all consumers from the battery If the battery is installed in a vehicle, switch off the ignition and other
consumers. You can switch it on again when you have ensured that everything is OK and that the total power
consumption of the consumers does not exceed 7 A.

Modernvehiclesareequippedwithsensitiveelectroniccomponentsandsensors,allofwhichcouldbe
damaged if you fail to proceed with caution.
• If the polarity is incorrect, the ReversedLED(11)lightsup.Checkthepolarityandconnecttheterminalswiththe
correct polarity.
• If the charging loop is short-circuited, the Short CircuitLED(10)lightsupandashes.
• The charger detects faulty batteries automatically. In that case, the selected charging program is not started.
The DefectiveLEDindicator(12)lightsup.Havethebatterycheckedbyaprofessionalorobtainareplacement.
• Disconnect the battery and the charger from the power supply at the end of the charging process. Remove the
mainsplug(13)fromthesocket,thenremovetheblackfollowedbytheredterminalfromthebattery.
