ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
WARNING: ELECTRICAL AND GROUNDING
CONNECTIONS MUST COMPLY WITH THE APPLICABLE
PORTIONS OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
AND/OR OTHER LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES.
WARNING: APPLIANCES EQUIPPED WITH A FLEXIBLE
ELECTRIC SUPPLY CORD ARE PROVIDED WITH A
THREE-PRONG GROUNDING PLUG. IT IS IMPERATIVE
THAT THIS PLUG BE CONNECTED INTO A PROPERLY
GROUNDED THREE-PRONG RECEPTACLE. IF THE
RECEPTACLE IS NOT THE PROPER GROUNDING TYPE,
CONTACT AN ELECTRICIAN. DO NOT REMOVE THE
GROUNDING PRONG FROM THIS PLUG.
Plug the power cord into a 120 volt receptacle.
OPERATION
WARNING: HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE BURNS. USE CARE
WHEN OPERATING AND SERVICING THE HOT DOG
GRILL.
WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE GRILL WITHOUT
THE GREASE PAN IN PLACE.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Clean the grill with warm soapy water. Rinse well
and dry with a soft clean cloth.
Set the control switches to HIGH and allow the
unit to operate for one-half hour. This will burn off
oil and hand grease acquired during the
manufacturing process.
USING THE GRILL
NOTE: The MEDIUM setting is designed for the
alternate rollers not to be heated.
Use hot dogs, or any sausage, etc., that will lie straight
and not curl. Commercial pack hot dogs, etc., grill
better than retail pack.
Set the controls for the desired mode of operation. The
left-hand switch controls the first five rollers (nearest
the operator). The right-hand switch controls the
remaining five rollers (or 8 rollers on Models
HD75C&S). Each switch has four modes:
OFF, LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH.
RECOMMENDED PUSH BUTTON SETTINGS FOR
EFFICIENT OPERATION
SLOW PERIODS: Set the front rollers on HIGH and
the back rollers (away from the operator) on LOW.
Preheat the franks in the rear five (or eight) rows, then
transfer as needed to the front rows. Franks will be
customer ready in a short period of time.
BUSY PERIODS: Set the front rollers on HIGH and
the rear rollers on MEDIUM. Fill all rows. Use franks
from front rows first, transferring franks from the back
rows to the front rows as needed.
VERY BUSY PERIODS: Set the front rollers on HIGH
and the back rollers on HIGH. Fill all rows.
Cooking time will vary according to the ambient
temperature, hot dog temperature, and the quality of
the product. Frankfurters should be kept refrigerated
until ready to use. When cooking, do not transfer
franks from HIGH to LOW as they may shrivel.
CAUTION: Proper food handling requires that hot
dogs be kept at an internal temperature of 140° F
or above during display and serving. Accordingly,
the operator of this grill should not keep franks on
the LOW or MEDIUM heat setting for more than
two hours. After that time, they must be
transferred to the HIGH setting for cooking and
serving.
