1Introduction
1.1 Information on safety
It is important to follow these instructions in the interests
of personal safety. Failure to comply with these
instructions when operating the product may result in
personal injury and/or property damage. Failure to comply
with these instructions relieves WAREMA of liability.
Warnings are marked with these symbols in
the instructions.
Read through the instructions carefully
before use.
Keep the instructions until you dispose of
the product.
Include these instructions if you pass the
product on to a new owner.
Please observe all safety, operating, and
maintenance instructions.
1.2 Information on the target group and
application of these instructions
Target group
These instructions are intended for use by a trained
operator.
Contents
These operating and maintenance instructions contain
important information on operation and maintenance. It
describes the operation of the WAREMA ceiling roller
blind with 230-volt electric drive. Other drives and
alternative solutions are not dealt with.
Permissible activities
No other alterations, additions to or conversions of, or
maintenance work, are to be carried out on the product
other than as described in these instructions without the
written approval of WAREMA.

Accessories
A wide range of control devices is optionally available for
our sun shading control systems to give you control of the
product.
2.3 Intended use of product
The WAREMA ceiling roller blind is an internal sun
shading system that may only be used as intended (use
as protection against summer light and glare and for
visual privacy of inside areas on vertical, sloped and
horizontal glass surfaces). Inappropriate use may result in
significant danger.
Do not place additional strain, such as that from suspend-
ed objects, on the WAREMA ceiling roller blind as this
may damage the product and is therefore not permitted.
Installation on emergency doors is also not permitted.
WAREMA will not be liable for any resulting damage.
The intended use also includes observing these instruc-
tions and the installation conditions.
2.4 Product identification
The product has a CE mark.
2.5 CE conformity
The product conforms to CE and meets the requirements
of the relevant European guidelines.
CE conformity is certified, and WAREMA holds the
corresponding declaration. To maintain this state and to
ensure that the product can be safely installed and put
into operation, you as the fitter must adhere to the
installation instructions.

3Operation of the ceiling roller blind
3.1 Ceiling roller blind with 230V electric drive
NOTE
The product can be stopped in any position.
NOTE
The limit stop of the product is restricted in both
directions, i.e. the product is automatically stopped
at this point.

protection systems to give you optimum control of the
product. Please contact your qualified specialist for further
information.
CAUTION
Product damage!
Set the automatic control to manual if you
are going to be away.
The motors used in these products are not intended for
continuous operation. The integrated thermal protection will
switch the motor off after approx. 4 minutes. The product will
be ready for use again after approx. 10-15 minutes.

4.1 Information on safety
The following safety instructions and warnings are
intended to safeguard your health as well as protect the
product. Please read the following points carefully.
Damage resulting from inappropriate use or the failure to
observe these instructions or safety information is not
covered by the guarantee. Liability will not be accepted
for consequential damage!
4.2 Safety instructions

5Care/maintenance
5.1 General information on care and
maintenance of the roller blind
Proper and regular care and maintenance and the use of
original spare parts only are essential for fault-free
operation and a long product life.

Risk of injury from operation of the product
when it is out of view.
Disconnect the product from the automatic
control and/or de-energise it.
NOTE
Ensure that the product is not moved during
maintenance and repair work in its direct proximity –
e.g. window-cleaning.
De-energise the product.
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to static charge.
Contact with persons or objects may result in
electrostatic discharge from statically charged
fabric.
DANGER
Risk of injury and falling!
Do not rest climbing aids against the
product.
Climbing equipment must rest on a solid
foundation and offer good support!
CAUTION
Product could be damaged by incorrect
cleaning!
Do not use high pressure washers,
abrasive cleansers, abrasive sponges or
solvents such as alcohol or naphtha.
Do not support yourself on the product or
parts of the product.
5.2 Cleaning the roller blind
To ensure the longest possible
life, we recommend you clean
the surface of the product
regularly and at least once a
year.
If the first cleaning takes place
years after initial installation,
the product cannot be returned
to its original condition.
Replacement claims cannot be
honoured on the grounds of
these cleaning and care
instructions because the
effectiveness of these
measures depends on a large
number of factors that vary
from case to case.
Clean the roller blind regularly. Follow the procedure
described in the following table.
Cleaning procedure
Use a suitable cleaning agent to clean the
aluminium surfaces (e.g. common household
cleansers or cleaning agents).
Remove any dust and/or dirt from the fabric or
the guide rails.
Wash the fabric with a mild detergent (water
max. 30°C).2
Remove soiling on the fabric with a colourless
eraser.1
Brush the fabric (only coated polyester fabrics).1
Wipe off the fabric using a moist cloth.1
Inspect the operating elements, lifting tapes and
motor line for visible wear and damage.
Check that the roller blind is functioning properly.
Watch the product as it travels the full projection
range and look for any unusual behaviour or noises.
Have any damage repaired by a qualified specialist
as soon as possible.

5.3 Maintenance of the roller blind
The product must be main-
tained regularly and at least
once a year.
Inspection and maintenance
work is only to be carried out
by an appropriately qualified
specialist. We recommend you
take out a maintenance
agreement with a qualified
specialist.

Risk of injury through irregular maintenance!
Check the unit regularly for signs of wear
and damage, e.g. on the motor line.
Do not use systems in need of repair.
DANGER
Electric shock!
When inspecting or maintaining electrical parts,
the power connection must be de-energised
and locked out.
Check the product for visible wear, for damage to
the motor line and to ensure it is securely attached
(e.g. check that screws have a firm hold).
Check the function and the switch-off points on the
product.
Replace the battery in units with remote controls.
6Warranty
Subject to the statutory period of limitation for warranty
claims. This requires regular maintenance. The warranty
does not include wear parts or optical changes in line
with the type of material used (e.g. bleaching of surfaces
caused by UV rays).

The product should only be repaired by a
specialist.
To ensure that your roller blind will operate properly on a
continuous basis and to avoid changing its approved
status, use WAREMA spare parts only. Please contact a
qualified specialist for further information.
8Dismantling/disposal
CAUTION
Personal injury or property damage resulting
from inappropriate disassembly.
The product should only be dismantled by a
specialist.
Disassembly and re-installation of the product must be
undertaken by a qualified specialist in accordance with
current guidelines and standards. Be sure to ask the
manufacturer for any missing documents before com-
mencing disassembly or re-installation.
Should the product no longer be required, ensure that it
is disposed of correctly in accordance with the relevant
regulations.

Injury or damage to persons or property
resulting from troubleshooting.
Problems with no reference to a qualified
specialist may be rectified independently.
Other problems are only to be dealt with by
a qualified specialist.
