Safety and Warnings

use only.
General Warnings
•If the electric blanket is folded, crumpled or used abnormally, the
blanket can overheat which will activate the permanent protection
function. This cannot be repaired at home and the product must be
returned to the retailer.
•If the power supply for the electric blanket is lower than the
recommended voltage, the temperature of the blanket will rise
slowly, and the heating ability is relatively low. This is not a
malfunction of the blanket and the user should pay attention to the
voltage of the supply socket.
•Use only as an under blanket (use similar to a bedsheet, not a
duvet).
•Ensure the electric blanket can be laid flat on your mattress.
•Do not use pins on the appliance. Do not scratch with sharp objects
or beat the object with blunt devices. Do not attempt to secure the
electric blanket with pins or other metal objects.
•Use the electric blanket under the body only. Do not wrap your body
with the blanket or use in any other way.
•Do not turn on the electric blanket when there are heavy objects or
folded bedding on it to avoid it overheating.
•Do not expose the electric blanket to direct sunlight.
Regular Check-Ups
Ensure the power cable and

plugging into a socket.

General Warnings

heating wires.
•Do not use with any other heating appliances e.g., hot water bottle.

cigarettes, sparks, etc.
•Switch off the blanket or pull the plug when leaving the house or not
using the blanket.

•Children under 3 should not use this appliance due to their inability
to react to overheating.
•After the electric blanket has been turned on, users should
supervise it for an hour to prevent any possible fire.
•This product is not intended for medical use in hospitals.
•Wash by hand or machine. Do not use if wet. See ‘Cleaning,
Storage and Maintenance’ for further instructions.
•Do not let the control unit or power cord get wet.
•When not in use, the blanket should be stored in a dry place. When
storing the appliance, allow it to cool down before folding. Do not

•Do not try to repair a fuse link or thermal link. The appliance must
be returned to the retailer if a link has ruptured.
Users must observe all the above points. Failure to do so may
result in the blanket overheating which could result in a fire,
bodily injury, or property loss.

Operating the Product
Using the Product
•To fit the controller plug, simply hold the socket with one hand and
push the controller plug all the way until it is firmly in place.
•To remove the controller, lift the locking tab up with your finger and
pull the plug directly out. Do not pull the controller cable and do not
try and pull the controller plug out without lifting the locking tab as
you will damage the socket.
•Do not fold, roll or kink the cable. Allow it to hang freely.
•Ensure the cable in not pulled so tight that it bends hard at the
blanket connector end.
•Ensure that the electric blanket is sized to suit your mattress.
•Do not use a single blanket on a double, queen, king, or super king
mattress.
•The blanket top must not hang over the edges of the mattress.

Securing your Electric Blanket
•Your electric blanket must be placed directly onto the mattress.
Mattress protectors must be fitted over the electric blanket.
•Place the blanket onto the mattress with the controller connections
at the head end of the bed.
•Electric blankets must not be used on top of the user (as with
normal blankets), instead they must be firmly secured to the
mattress.
•Fit the side skirts around the edges of the mattress then use the
elastic skirt to ensure that the blanket fits snugly around the sides
and underneath the mattress.
•Spread the skirt around the mattress edge ensuring even tension
and making sure the blanket is placed evenly over the mattress
then ensure that the blanket is flat and crease free.
•Failure to follow these fitting instructions may trigger the overheat
protection system and render the blanket permanently inoperative.
This will invalidate the warranty.
•The electric blanket should not be tucked in at the sides.
•Make your bed in the usual manner.
•After the blanket is secure and fitted correctly, plug the controller
into the wall power socket and turn on.
•Do not cover the controllers at any time.
•Keep the controller away from external heat sources.

Using the Controller
•Do not use any other controllers for this blanket.
•The on/off switch is on the right-hand side of the controller. Push
upwards is ‘on’ and push downwards is ‘off’.
•Press ‘body’ or ‘feet’ to adjust the temperature.
•Press ‘body’ and the displayed temperature circulates from 0-9.
•Press ‘feet’ and the displayed temperature circulates from 0-9.
•When setting at a high temperature (5-9), it will automatically
change to a lower temperature after three hours.
•Press ‘time’ to select the desired setting (1-12 hours). When the
timer runs out, it will change to standby.
•Press ‘auto’ and it will automatically set heat setting 5 for three
hours.
•If the controller shows ‘P’, it is possible that the controller coupler is
not connected.
•If the controller shows ‘E’, please shut down and then restart. If it
still occurs, this indicates that the internal connection has short
circuited and that the blanket is damaged.
Preheating the Blanket
•The controller has a pre-heat facility in order for you to warm your
bed prior to getting into it.
•The time taken to preheat the bed will depend on the ambient
temperature of the bedroom and whether an electric blanket has
been used on the bed on a regular basis.

•At normal ambient temperature, you should allow approximately 30-
60 minutes on heat setting ‘9’.
•You may get into bed while the blanket is still warming up, but
please do not leave the blanket setting on ‘9’ when you are in bed
as this is intended to be a preheat setting.
•A cold room or bed that has not been used for some time may
require a greater length of time to preheat.
Electrical Field Effect
•When using the blanket, you may feel a tingling sensation. This is
known as an ‘electric field effect’ and happens throughout all
brands of electric blanket.
•It is caused by an electromagnetic field (EMF) and some people are
more susceptible to feeling it than others. It is no cause for concern
and is not an electric shock.
Overheat Protection System
•The blanket is fitted with numerous overheat safeguard systems.
This offers protection against overheating or damage to the
elements by disengaging the power to the elements before
overheating hazards occur.
•Should there ever be a problem with the heating element in the
blanket, it will automatically close down the operation and the
blanket will turn off.
•The controller must not be covered. The controller has built-in
protection, so that if the controller overheats or the heating element
is damaged, it will automatically close down the operation
permanently.
•Keep the controller away from external heat sources.

Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage
•Do not dry clean, wring or spin dry.
•Ensure all controllers are unplugged from the power point and from
the electric blanket before cleaning.
•Ensure the controllers and plugs do not get wet.
•Machine wash on delicate cycle only or hand wash at 30°C max.
•Do not bleach or use detergents with bleach.
•Do not tumble dry.
•Line dry in shade only over several lines. Do not use pegs.
•Do not iron.
•Do not operate when folded.

warranty.
•Place the blanket in lukewarm water mixed with either a natural wool
detergent or with mild soap flakes.
•Soak the blanket for approx. 5 minutes and then gently squeeze the
soapy water through.
•Rinse the blanket thoroughly with clean lukewarm water until no
more suds are visible and allow water to drain off.
•Refer to the drying section for drying instructions.
•With normal use, it is recommended that you hand wash your
blanket once per year.

•Place the blanket in the washing machine with either a natural wool
detergent or with mild soap flakes.
•Set your machine to the delicate wool or gentle cycle (without spin
dry) and set the water temperature to warm (30°C max).
•When the cycle has finished, allow water to drain off.
•Refer to the drying section for drying instructions.
Drying
•Spread the blanket out on a clean surface to dry in a shady area.
•Your blanket can also be dried on a clothesline provided the blanket
is not creased or folded.
•Ensure pegs are not used on the heating element areas of the
blanket if hanging on the line. The blanket must be thoroughly dried
including controller sockets before being re-fitted to your bed.
Servicing
•There are no user serviceable parts on this blanket.
•The blanket should be examined frequently for signs of wear, either
of the blanket, controller or flexible cord. If wear is visible or if any
abnormality or defect in operation is observed, discontinue use
immediately.
•It is recommended that your electric blanket is inspected by a
qualified person after three years of use.

Storage
•When storing the blanket, allow it to cool down before folding. Fold
neatly (or rolled) but not tightly without sharp bends in the heating
elements and store where no other heavy objects will be placed
upon it.
•Store in a dry place where it cannot be damaged.
