CAP2 - indications and contraindications
CAP1 - Presentation
WELLMAG belongs to a new line of electromedical instruments for physiotherapy. Its
main characteristics are its reduced dimensions, its easy of use and its versatility.
1.1 - What is WELLMAG?
Thanks to the constant investigation and research, we created a new system for
magnetotherapy, our WELLMAG. Through the preset and ready to use programs and
its innovative software, magnetic fields are created for therapeutic purpose and for
the treatment of common pathologies (lesions, accidents, illnesses). It’s an extremely
innovative product thanks to its technological features and its ease of use.
1.2 - What is WELLMAG for?
With WELLMAG it is possible to apply magnetic fields with beneficial effects on the
reconstruction of the bone tissue and, in general, on the regeneration of damaged
tissues. Also, it can be used to obtain analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema
effects.
1.3 - Who can use WELLMAG?
WELLMAG expresses its own potential in the medical field (physiotherapy particularly).
Nevertheless, thanks to its ease of use and versatility, it can be used not only by
physicians and therapists, but also from whoever desires to use it at home. Thanks to
its reduced dimensions and rechargeable battery, it can be used anytime and during
travelling. Do not use the product in high-temperature and humid environments.
ATTENTION: for home use, please follow the prescriptions of magnetotherapy of
your doctor.
2.1 - Indications
The magnetic fields can treat the most common pathologies, mainly the ones related
to the bone system and joints. They are especially suitable in the treatment of:
Recent fractures;
Pseudarthrosis, arthrosis, arthritis;
Inflammatory and degenerative arthropathies;
Please consult your doctor for diagnose and follow up of the therapy.
2.2 - Contraindications
The side effects of the magnetic fields are the same as the ones of physical therapies
that act with the endogenous production of heat:
presence of metallic fragments;
neoplasms (tumors);
tuberculosis
acute inflammation;
cutaneous lesions;
sensitivity alteration;
pace-maker;
pregnancy;

NOTE: before applying the magnetotherapy, check the contraindications and
consult the physician that prescribed the therapy.
4.1 - Connection and application of solenoids
Connect the cable of the solenoids to the output of the device. Insert, rotate and
tighten the connector into the output. Solenoids must be placed on the area to be
treated (they can be applied on the top of stockings or cloths) and can be fixed with
the elastic straps. The plain side on the solenoids must be placed in contact with the
area to be treated.
4.2 - WELLMAG operating with band EasyCare
WELLMAG offers magnetotherapy treatments at low and high frequency. For high
frequency (program 31H), it is mandatory to use WELLMAG with Easycare band or with
any optional accessories for high frequency. Solenoids CANNOT be used. For the other
low frequency programs (from P01 to P30), solenoids can be used.
4.3 - Power source
You can use WELLMAG with battery or with power supply (230V), connecting the
power supply to the device and to the AC mains.
4.4 - Turning on the device
Press key (2) - ON/OFF.
4.5 - Program selection
When turning on the device, the section programs (PROG) is displayed.
WELLMAG offers:
- 30 preset LOW FREQUENCY programs (from N.1 to N.30), identified by letter P. These
can only be used with solenoids or low frequency accessories;
- 5 adjustable programs identified by letter U. You can save here programs in low
frequency, prescribed by your doctor.;
- 1 HIGH FREQUENCY program (N.31 HF) , that has an antalgic effect thanks to its
automatic scanning mode. This program can be used with the Easycare band or
with high therapy accessories (Cap14);
To select the desired program, use the keys (+)/(-).

4.6 - Start of the therapy
When the desired program appears on the display, press START.
Once pressed, the section TIME is displayed, where you an see the remaining time.
NOTE: if you press START and the solenoid is not inserted in the instrument, the
stimulation stops, the device make a sound and the display shows the message
“SOL”; insert the connector and press 2 START.
4.7 - Setting the frequency in preset low frequency programs
Frequency (Hz) is preset but can be adjusted manually from [1-200]Hz with interval of
1Hz. Go to FREQ menu using the key and change the value using (+)/(-) keys. To go
back to TIME, press .
4.8 - Setting the intensity in preset low frequency programs
Intensity (G) is preset but can be adjusted manually from [1-100] Gauss with interval
of 1G. Go to INTEN menu pressing twice the key and change the value using (+)/(-)
keys. To go back to TIME, press .
4.9 - Setting Time
It is possible to increase a program duration (Timer) to perform a longer treatment
(few hours or night time, up to 8 hours maximum). This can be done in low and high
frequency programs. To set the time while performing the treatment, use the keys
and to go to the TIME menu, then change the value with (+)/(-). Each pressing
increases or decreases time by 5 minutes.
NOTE: we recommend using the power supply if the device is used for 2-3 hours
sessions.
PRECAUTION: for the duration of the session, please always refer to the doctor that
prescribed you the magnetotherapy, especially for those of 4-8 hours. We recommend
not to change the values of the preset programs, unless specified by the doctor.
NOTE: if values are changed while performing the treatment, those will not be saved.
So to use them again during the following sessions, you will have to change them
again.

4.10 - End or interruption of the session
If you want to stop the device before the program ends, press the key (2) PAUSE once
for a break (to continue press (2) START); hold pressing (2) PAUSE to end the therapy
(the device will turn off)
4.11 - Turning off the device
To turn off the instrument press and hold the key (2) ON/OFF for some seconds. After
the end of a program, if the device is not used again, it automatically turns off after a
few minutes.

5.1 - Setting of free program
To access to the setting from PROG menu area use the keys (+)/(-) and go to the
U programs. Use the keys and to go to INTEN, FREQ, TIME menu. Change the
parameters as desired with the keys (+)/(-). Once the parameters have been selected,
press key 2 START to start the selected therapy. When the devices will be turned off
the program will be saved.

below: in the first column you find the available parameters with the corresponding
values, while in the second column you find the corresponding type of application.

MAINS FEEDING: power suppy through electrical power
(charger connected).
1. Connect the solenoids cable to the device
2. Hold the magnet between fingers to put it on the top of the solenoid
3. Turn on the device and start program P10
4. If the device is working properly, you will notice the magnet vibrating between
fingers. This is due to the continuous polarity inversion on the solenoids.
If you want to feel a stronger vibration, increase intensity of P10.
5. Run the same test on the other solenoid
NOTE:
Run the test with P10 program as this is where the vibration is felt the most.
If working with this program, it will also with the other programs.
NOTE:
the magnet is only working when using solenoids and low frequency programs.
It cannot be used with Easycare band (magnet cannot detect high frequency)
4.12 - Symbols on display
Magnetotherapy cannot be
detected, therefore a magnet
is provided with the device, in
order to check its functioning.

6.1 - Therapy planning
Always perform the magnetotherapy following your medical prescription.
You can perform the therapy every day, following your medical prescription,
until improvement is reached. You can perform the therapy two or
three times per day, with 2-3 hours of break between sessions, and
maximum of 8 hrs. If the problem persists, please consult your doctor.
6.2 - Position to be maintained during the sessions
Maintain a relaxed position during each session. Depending on the area of
application, the body is lying supine or prone. The position must be maintained
during the whole session to facilitate the effects produced by the magnetic
field.
The Easycare band can be used open on the area to treat or can be wrapped on
the area.
Solenoids can be used in pair or individually (in case the area to threat is a small
one). They can be used one facing the other, to intensify the effect on the area) or
one next to the other (Fig.10) as for example in case of lumbago and cervical pain..
NOTE: the intensity of the program is calculated using both solenoids. Of only one
solenoid is used, the intensity will be cut by the half (e.g. P.1 Fracture, intensity
96G with both solenoids, 48G if only one is used)

7.1 - Charge indication
When WELLMAG is powered by the inside battery on the bar of the symbols of the
display the symbol Battery it appears “ “
When the empty battery icon is displayed, please charge the device. If not, the device
will automatically turn off.

WELLMAG can be powered from mains with the endowed power supply or from the
internal rechargeable battery Li-ion 12V - 3,8Ah, with an autonomy of some hours
under normal use conditions. The guaranteed autonomy may change depending on
the program, intensity and time of application.
For the correct identification of battery and power supply, consult the Chap. “Technical features”. Neither
the power supply nor the battery must be replaced from not experienced staff. Do not use spare parts
which are not provided or approved by the manufacturer.

7.2 - Battery recharge
To recharge the battery of WELLMAG:
1) Turn off the device;
2) Plug the power supply into the device and into mains;
3)Leave the device charging (on the display the battery icon will blink while
charging). When full charge is completed (approx. 3 hours), the battery charged
icon will appear (Once in a while we recommend leaving the device charging fo
8-10 hours)
4) Disconnect the power supply from mains and WELLMAG.
