4 General information
Marking on the machine
The Westermann scraper 800, WS 800 for short, is an akku driven scraper.
A powerful DC motor and high-quality rechargeable batteries anables a
powerful and long-term working with the machine, if it is maintained
correctly.
Various slot systems can be cleaned of faeces in a very short time by the
double scraper.
Adherence to the instructions for use given by the manufacturer is
essential for proper use.
Only proper operation, compliance with the safety instructions and
appropriate maintenance and care guarantee the long-term use of
your newly machine.
Please note that only the handling of the WS 800 is explained.
The machine must be stored in a dry place and protected
from moisture and water! When cleaning the machine, do
not use high pressure or running water, as the electronics
inside can be damaged.
Use a hand brush and / or a damp cloth for cleaning. The
pushing shield can be cleaned with water as required
after dismantling.

5 Safety
Before use
The WS 800 must be checked for possible damage or wear before any use.
Onlyaawlessmachinemaybeused.
Please only use original spare parts or parts approved by the manufacturer for
repairs and replacements.
The operator must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for people and
animals in the work area.
Large foreign bodies must be removed from the surfaces to be cleaned
before starting work. These can lead to uncontrolled movements of the
machine.
The key must be removed after each use, also prevent
the machine from being used by unauthorized persons!
Connect the machine with the supplied charger after
  nishingtheworkprocess.
This will prevent a deep discharge and the machine is
ready for use at any time.
Familiarize yourself with the handling of the device. Make a note of how to
turn it off in a case of emergency.
The key must be removed before the following work.

Only remove the attached scraper for cleaning. Never use the machine
without the scraper!
The WS 800 is only used to maintain crevices in dairy farms and can therefore
onlybeusedonatsurfaces!Whileworkinginthe stable, watch out for
possible steps by the animals!

7 Installation
First of all, check your WS 800 for completeness!
7.1 Assembly of push bar
TheWS800isshippeddisassembledforaneasiertransport.Youwillnd
the basic machine, as well as 2 tires and the push bar.
First you need to assemble the push bar with the included screws at the
markedpositions(Fig.1).Theupperscrewisusedforxingaswellasfor
adjusting the tilt of the push bar.

Be careful to not put tension on the harness during assembly! After the
pushbarisxedthewheelscanbeinstalled.Forassemblyusetheincluded
screws and the spherical discs.

7 Installation
7.2 Disassembly / assembly of the scraper
The preassembled scraper of the WS 800 can be attached or removed in
two simple steps.
First pull out both split pins that secure the scrapper to the forks
(Fig. 2). Now the scrapper can be pulled on or of the forks. The WS800
has to be secured against rolling or tipping over during the diss-/
assembly. It’s best to perform these tasks with the help of an additional
person. Don’t forget to put the pins back in after you are done with the
diss-/assembly to not lose them.

While working on the device, it must be switched off
and be secured against being switched on again!

7 Installation
7.3 Adjustment of handle height
There are two setting options to adjust the handle height to the height of
the user. On the one hand, the inclination of the push bar can be adjusted
using two adjusting screws (see Figure 3). The other adjustment is on
the front of the WS 800. Here two hexagon nuts can be loosened and the
inclination of the scraper can be changed.

7 Installation
7.4 Charging the WS 800 Vario
A charger is integrated in the push bar of the WS 800. This is preset by
production and does not require any further intervention.
Afternishingthework,theWS800mustbeparkednearapowersupply.
Switch off the WS and prevent it from being switching on by unauthorized
persons.
Next, the cable wound on the stile can be plugged into a socket to be
connected. The charger has a voltage control and switches off automati-
cally when the batteries are fully charged.
A fully functional charger cannot be damaged by charging for too long.
The battery must be properly and permanently re-
connected to the charging station after each use to
avoid deep discharge of the battery. The overcharge
protection in the charger prevents the batteries from
being overcharged. Only use the charger supplied!

8 Troubleshooting

10 Warranty policy
The following policies are valid from 01.01.2002 for the Westermann
warranty.
1. For Westermann products of the consumer goods sector (private use),
which have been sold via the Westermann specialist trade, the warranty
period is 2 years from the date of sale to the end customer. For Wester-
mann products of the capital goods sector (commercial/professional),
which have been sold via the Westermann specialist trade, the warranty
period is 1 year from the date of sale to the end customer.
2. The warranty covers defects which can be traced back to material and/
or manufacturer defects. All faults occurring due to a Westermann product
or production defect during the warranty period will be acknowledged
and corrected by repair or a spare parts delivery via a Westermann
specialised dealer.
3. Excluded from this are wear parts such as Bowden cables, starter ropes,
V-belts, bearings, clutch plates, tyres, air filters, spark plugs, glow plugs,
fuel filters, oil filters, sweeping brushes, rubber lips, batteries if these
cannot be proven to have clear material defects.
4. Warranty claims are generally excluded in the event of inadequate main-
tenance and care. Regular maintenance and cleaning of the product as
specified in the Westermann operating instructions is essential. Damage
due to improper maintenance and cleaning cannot be accepted as a case
of warranty.
5. The operating instructions for the respective product as well as the safety
notes must be observed. Damage caused by faulty operation, improper
use or use of accessories not authorised by Westermann GmbH & Co. KG,
cannot be accepted as a case of warranty.
6. Make sure that only original Westermann spare parts and Westermann
accessories are used. They can be obtained from Westermann specia-
lised dealers. Damage and an increased danger of accidents cannot
be ruled out if other than original Westermann spare parts or
Westermann accessories have been used. These consequential damages
are not subject to warranty claims.
