IntendedUse
The9000PAlarmisamodularsystemthatutilizesaneasytoinstallSirenModulethat
thenconnectswirelesslytoarangeofwirelesssensorstoprotectyourvaluable
contents.Thismanualdescribesthekeyfeaturesandfunctionsofyoursystemandhow
tooperatethese.
SystemFunctionality
ArmingyourAlarm
The9000Phas2optionsforarmingasoutlinedbelow.Actualarmingisdoneviaeither
yourPinPadoryourKeyFOB.
ArmHome
Whenarminginhomemode,thePIRmotionsensorswillbecomeinactive.Thiswillgive
youtheabilitytomovearoundtheroomwithouttriggeringthealarmunit.
ToarmhomewithyourPinPad,enter3‐#
ToarmhomewithyourKeyFOB,pressthebottombutton3times,then
pressthetopbuttononce.
Thesystemwillbeeptwiceandthenarmwithin4seconds.

ArmAway
Whenarminginawaymode,allsensorsincludingPIRmotionsensorswillbecome
active.Thismodealsogivesyouextratimetoexitbeforethesystemisfullyarmed.
ToarmawaywithyourPinPad,enter2‐#
ToarmawaywithyourKeyFOB,simplypressthetopbuttononce.
Whenarmingaway,thesystemwillslowlybeepcontinuouslyforapproximately10
seconds.Thebeepingwillthengetfasterforanother10seconds,afterwhichthesystem
willarmwithtwoconfirmationbeeps.Thisiscalledtheexitperiod.Oncethesystem
becomesactive,anysensormovementormotiondetectionwilltriggerthealarm
system.
AlarmTriggering
Whenatriggeroccurs,thesystemwillenterapre‐triggermodeforaperiodof10
second,givingyoutimetodisarmthealarmbeforethesirensounds.
Thispre‐triggerwarningsoundslike3rapidchirps,adelay,3rapidchirps,adelayand
then3finalrapidchirps.
Duringthispre‐triggerwarning,thesystemmustbedeactivated/disarmedbyeither
thePinPadortheRemoteKeyFobotherwisethesirenwillsound.
Oncetriggered,thesirenwillsoundfor30secondsandwillthenrearm.Forthat
particularsensortrigger,thesirenwillrepeatthiscycletwicemore.Ifanothersensor
triggerstheAlarm,thenthatwouldcausethesirentosoundforafurther3cyclesof30
secondseachoruntilavaliddisarmsignalisreceived.
DisarmingyourAlarm
TodisarmtheAlarmwithyourPinPad,enteryour4‐6digitPinfollowedby
the#key.Ifyouhavenotchangedfromthefactorydefault,yourPinwillbe
1234.
TodisarmtheAlarmwithyourKeyFOB,pressthetopbuttononce.
EffectivelythetopbuttonontheKeyFobtogglesbetweenarmanddisarm.

Whendisarmingthesystem,youshouldhearonlyasinglebeepfromtheAlarm/Siren
unit.Thissinglebeeptellsyouthattherehasbeennoactivityinyourabsence.Inthe
eventthatoneofthesensorshastriggeredtheAlarmsystemwhilstyouwereaway,you
willhearauniquesequenceofdiagnosticchirpsimmediatelyafterdisarmingthe
Alarm/Siren.
PanicMode
Thesystemincludestheabilitytobeusedasapanicordistressalarm,whichcanbe
engagedbyeithertypeofremoteasshownbelow:
Holddownanybutton(exceptthe#button)for3secondsandtheSirenwill
soundfor30seconds.TodisablepanicmodeenteryourPinandthe#key.
Holdthebottombuttondownfor3secondsandtheSirenwillsoundfor30
seconds.Todisablepanicmodepressthetopremotebutton.
Diagnostics
WhenarminganddisarmingyourAlarm,theunitmaygivesomeextrachirpstoprovide
youwithadditionalinformationabouttheconditionoftheAlarmandsensorsaswellas
informationaboutwhytheAlarmwentoff.Thesearedescribedbelow.
WhattriggeredmyAlarm?
Intheeventthesystemwastriggeredinyourabsence,whendisarmingtheAlarmyou
willhearabeepfollowedbyamelody.Youcanthengointodiagnosticmodeto
determinewhichsensorwastriggered.Thesystemwillstorethelast3triggeredevents
initsdiagnosticmemory.HowtouseDiagnosticmodeisexplainedbelow.
DiagnosticMode
ToenterDiagnosticmodefromyourPinPad,holdthe#buttonfor3
seconds.Aftertheredlightsstopflashing,enter3‐1‐#.
ToenterDiagnosticmodefromyourKeyFOB,pressthetopandbottom
buttonsatthesametime.Thetopbuttonshouldflashredandgreenrapidly.
Oncetheflashingstopspressthetopbutton3timesandthebottombutton
once.
UnderstandingtheDiagnostics
AfteryouhaveenteredDiagnosticMode,theGreenLEDontheAlarm/Sirenwillflash.
Thiswillbefollowedbyaseriesofbeepsforthe1

event,thenapause.

Thenumberofbeepsforatriggerindicateswhattypeofsensorcausedthetriggeras
showninthetablebelow.

SensorIsolation
AparticularsensorwillonlybeabletotriggertheAlarm/Siren3times,afterwhichthat
sensorwillbeignoreduntilthealarmisdisarmedandrearmed.Ifasensordoesbecome
“blacklisted”,itwillnotaffecttheoperationoftheothersensorspairedtothesystem.
ThisisprimarilytostopsayafaultysensorfromcontinuallytriggeringtheAlarm/Siren.
Ifyouhavemultiplesofaparticularsensortypeinstalled,forexample2PIRmovement
sensorsthenitmaybeusefultofindoutwhichactualsensorcausedaparticulartrigger.
LowBatteryWarning
General
Whenarmingordisarmingthesystem,ifalowbatteryconditionisdetectedineither
theAlarm/Sirenoranyofthewirelesssensors,theSirenwillemittwoextralow
frequencybeeps.IftheSirenmoduleitselfhasalowbattery,therewillbeabriefpause
followedbythreeadditionallowfrequencybeeps.
LowBatteryDetectionforaspecificsensor
IfyouhavealargerareawithmultiplePIRandothersensors,itisusefultobeableto
detectthespecificsensorthathasalowbatterycondition.Thereisawaytodetectthis
specificsensorbyperformingthefollowingprocess.
DisarmtheAlarm.Ifthesystemhasalowbatterycondition,itwillbeeponceandthen
thereafter,playamelody.
Hereishowyoufindthespecificsensor:
UsingthePINPad
FromthePINpad,pressandholdthe#buttondownforthreeseconds.Oncethered
lightsstopflashing,enter3‐3‐#

UsingtheKeyFob
•Holdbothtopandbottombuttonsdownsimultaneouslyfor3seconds.
•Theredandgreenlightswillflashonthetopbutton.
•Waituntilthelightsstopflashing.
•Pressthetopbutton9times.
1. Youwillhear3lowfrequencybeeps,indicatingyouareinlowbatterydetection
mode.
2. Whenthebeepingstops,startwiththePIRmotionsensors.OncethePIRislocated,
testeachPIRsensorindividually(ifyouhavemultiple)bywavingyourhandsinfront
ofthatsensoronlyfromapproximately5feetaway.Makesureyouactivateonlyone
sensoratatime.WhenyoutriggeraPIRwithalowbatteryitsendsthesignaltothe
Alarm/Sirenandinsequenceyouwillhearamelodythatfollows.Ifthesensor
batteryisgood,youwillhearasinglebeep.Ifthesensorbatteryislow,youwillhear
amelody,continuetothenextsensor.
3. Openeachdoororcompartmentthatcontainsamovementsensor.Youwillheara
singlebeepfromtheAlarm/Sirenifthebatteriesareingoodcondition.Onceyou
locateasensorwithalowbattery,itwillsendasignalandyouwillhearamelody
playing(thereisnovisualindicatorfordoorsensors).Replacebatteriesinthat
sensorandcontinuetothenextsensorandsoon.
4. Onceyouhavetestedallofthesensors,eitherreenteryourPINnumberthenpress#
toexitLowBatteryDetectionModeorpresstheDisarmbuttononyourKeyFob.
5. Amelodywillplayandissueonebeepuponexiting.Ifyoucontinuetohearthe
melody,thismeansyouhavemoresensorstolocatesocontinuetestingasabove.
6. Testforlowbatteryagain,thesystemshouldprovide2beepsforarmand1beepfor
disarmandnolongerissuealowbatterywarningmelody.
Note:Itisgoodpracticetosetabatteryreplacementschedule,justasyouwouldasmokedetector.Thereisno
reprogramminginvolved.Justremoveoldbatteriesandreplacewithnew.Batterylifeisexpectedtobeupto2
years.

PairingSensors
PairingistheprocessoflinkingnewsensorstoyourmainAlarm/Sirenmodule.Thisisa
similarprocesstopairingaBluetoothheadsetwithaCellphone.FirstthemainSiren
moduleisputintopairmodesothatitsearchesforavailablesensorstopairwithand
thenasensorisputintopairmodetolinkittotheSiren.Thisprocessisdescribedin
detailbelow:
PuttingAlarmSirenintoPairMode
Thereare3waysofputtingtheAlarmSirenintopairmode.Thefirstisattimeofinitial
batteryinstallationandtheothersaretypicallyusedwhenaddingasensortoanexisting
systemandutilizeeitherthePINPadortheKeyFobtoplacetheAlarmSirenintopair
mode.
MethodA–buttoninsidetheAlarmSiren
•InstallthethreeAAbatteriesintothemainAlarm/Sirenunit.
•Pressandreleasetheblackprogrambuttonlocatedonthecircuitboardnexttothe
batterycompartment.
•Theunitwillbeeptwice,greenLEDflashesslowlysearchingforasignalforthenext
60seconds.
•IfanyoftheLEDindicator(s)flashRedrapidly,thepairingattemptwasunsuccessful
andyouwillneedtostartthepairingprocessagain.
MethodB–usingthePINPad
•UsingthePINPad,holddownthe#keyfor3seconds.
•TheredPINPadlightswillbegintoflash.
•WaituntilthelightsonthePINPadstopflashing

•IfanyoftheLEDindicator(s)flashredrapidly,thepairingattemptwasunsuccessful
andyouwillneedtostartthepairingprocessover.
PairinganewKeyFob
•FirstplacetheSirenintopairingmodeusingoneofthemethods(A‐C)described

•AllowtheDoorGuardsensortosettlefor30seconds.
•NowplacetheSirenintopairingmodeusingoneofthemethods(A‐C)described
above.
•OncetheAlarm/Sirenisinthepairingmode,presstheprogrambuttononthe
DoorGuardcircuitboardusingsomethinglikeaballpointpen.
•ThegreenLEDontheDoorGuardcircuitboardwillilluminateandflashslowlyasit
searchesandthenrapidlywhenpairinghasbeenacceptedandthengoesout.
•Repeatthisprocedureforeachadditionalsensor(s)addedtothesystem.
Note:TheRedLEDonsensorcircuitboardwillflashrapidlyuponfailure.Removethebatteriesfromthe
sensorletitstandfor30secondsandrepeatthepairingprocedure.
PairingaPIRMotionSensor
•RemovethebatteriesandallowthePIRmotionsensortorestfor15seconds.
•NowplacetheSirenintopairingmodeusingoneofthemethods(A‐C)described

•ReinstallthebatteriesinthePIR,carefullynotingpolarity/direction.
•ThePIRmotionsensorLEDswillilluminatered,thenturnsolidgreen,thenflash
greenrapidlywhenpairingisacceptedthenflashslowlyred5timesandgoout.
