Barcode Scanner
Buon Management
The default scanner trigger buon is at right side. To
assign Scanner Trigger buon, follow the procedures
below.
1. Start Buon Manager by clicking on in the
system tray.
2. Select an available unused buon marked with the
icon .
3. Click on to go to the second screen of Buon Manager.
4. Click on the icon to assign the Scanner Trigger to the unused buon.
5. Click OK to apply conguraon sengs and close the window.

To Add/Remove Symbologies, follow the procedures below.
1. Click Start | All Programs | DT Research | Buon
Manager | ScannerCong.
2. Select COM3 and click Connect buon.
3. Add Symbology with buon and Remove
Symbology with buon.
4. Select the Beep aer scanning barcode checkbox to
enable beep sound aer scanning bar code or deselect
it to disable the beep sound.
5. Click OK to apply the conguraon sengs and close
the window.
Note: Adding only the symbologies you need for tesng will give the best results. Adding too many
symbologies all at the same me will inuence performance.

To Connect Barcode Scanner Module
To connect the Barcode Scanner, you can use the DT Keyboard Wedge to connect. Tap on
the icon in the task bar, a menu displayed as shown in the picture below. Select Connect
Scanner.
To Test Barcode Scanner Module
Click 1. Start | All Programs | Accessories | NotePad to run
the Notepad
Scan one of the several supported barcode Symbologies.

The output will appear in the Notepad screen.
Verify the captured data.

The CMOS Camera is preinstalled as an opon for DT 392.
To Test CMOS Camera Module
To test the CMOS Camera, launch Microso® Paint from Start | All Programs | Accessories.
Select File | From Scanner or Camera to iniate the Capture Pictures from Video window.
Click Seng to decide
properes of captured
pictures.
Click on Capture buon or
pre-assigned trigger buon
to take a picture.
Select a captured picture
on right column, click
Get Picture to export
the picture to Paint or
click Delete to delete the
picture.

Magnec Stripe Reader

The Magnec Stripe Reader (MSR) is preinstalled as an opon for DT 392
To Connect Magnec Stripe Reader Module
To connect the Magnec Stripe Reader, you can use the DT Keyboard Wedge. Tap on the
icon in the task bar, a menu is displayed as shown in the picture below. Choose Connect MSR.
To Congure MSR
For a magnec stripe card, the raw data in each data track may contain start and end sennel
characters. To remove those characters, you can select the Congure MSR command to parse
input raw data and lter out the start and end sennel characters on each track.
Click
1. Cong MSR in the DT Keyboard Wedge menu,
and the MSR Parse Format Seng window will be
displayed.
Choose
2. Enable in the Parse Data secon.
Choose data you want to parse at the start or end of each
track.
For Example:
Check Track 1
In Start Sennel Character, select %

In End Sennel Character, select ?•
Click 3. OK to complete the sengs

To Test Magnec Stripe Reader Module
Click 1. Start | All Programs | Accessories | NotePad to run
the Notepad.
Swipe a magnec stripe card across the module.

RFID Reader
Installaon
The RFID reader is preinstalled as an opon for DT 392.
To Connect RFID Reader Module
To connect the RFID, you can use the DT Keyboard Wedge to connect. Tap on the
icon in the task bar, a menu displayed as shown in the picture below. Select Connect RFID.
To Test RFID Reader Module
Click 1. Start | All Programs | Accessories | NotePad to run
the Notepad
Place the ISO card within a distance of the RFID tag(see

You also can connect Barcode Scanner/MSR from HyperTerminal:
1. Run Start l All Programs l Accessories l Communicaons l HyperTerminal to run the
HyperTerminal.
2. Input a connecon name in “Connecon Descripon” window.
3. Choose the connecon port (please refer to the parameters table
of each module), then click OK.
4. Change the port Properes (please refer to the parameters table
of each module), then click Apply to complete the sengs.
5. If the sengs are all correct, HyperTerminal will be connected to
the module. Scan a barcode or swipe a card, the captured data
will display in the HyperTerminal windows.
6. Verify the captured data.
