Fitting instruction video
Check that all of the components
are present.
Ensure the area where you are fitting the
locks is clean, dry and free from dust.
Decide on a position to fit whatlock® e.g.
on a cupboard 50mm (2 inches) below the
door knob.
The simplest and quickest method to fit
whatlock® is to use the 3M adhesive pads.
You will need a sharp pencil or small
marker pen.
Please allow 24 hours for full adhesion
before using the lock.
For added strength, fit with the supplied
screws. You will need as above, a bradawl
and a small Phillips screwdriver.
Before Fitting

Strike Plate x 2 Lock x 2
Key x 1
On the template, peel o the
narrow adhesive strip.
Ax onto the front face
of the cupboard side with
the guide line over the
inside edge.
Fold the template onto the
inside wall of the cupboard.
Mark the two strike plate hole
locations.

Leave the template in
position.
Peel the backing paper from
the foam tape. Close the door
firmly onto the template.
Open the door, the template
will have transferred to the
exact location for the lock on
the inside of the door. Mark
the four holes. Remove the
template.

To stick down the strike
plate and lock using the 3M
adhesive pads, remove the
backing from the pad and
place firmly into position by
matching the holes to the
pre-marked locations.
To use the screws, as above
and use a bradawl to start
the screw hole and use the
screws provided.
Allow 24 hours for the
adhesives to set before use.

There are many, sizes, shapes and kinds of drawers. Please
ensure whatlock® will work on your type of drawer before
commencing fitting. The example below illustrates how
whatlock® can be fitted to a drawer.
Follow the same 5 Steps Fitting Instructions as described for cupboards.
Fitting to Drawers
To open, pass the magnetic key over the front of
the door in line with the location of the lock.
The catch will release, allowing the door or drawer
to open. Automatically locks when the door or
drawer is closed.

Using your whatlock®
Locking Bar
The lock can be switched o and left in the open
position when not in use. To activate hold the blue
beak (a) in and then push the blue bar (b) from one
side to the other, as shown below:
Keeping the Key Safe and Stored
Use the open feature on the key and hang the key
up high in a cupboard, attach it to your belt or use
a lanyard.

Technical Information
Magnets
whatlock® uses small specialised neodymium
magnets. They are specifically designed and
manufactured for whatlock® to produce a very
powerful magnetisation between the lock and key.
whatlock® cannot be opened by other magnets that
are available on general sale.
Removal
Should you have a need to remove whatlock®, gently
prise o the lock and strike plate using a metal
scraper. Clean any residual adhesive with turpentine.
There will be no marks left on the cupboard or drawer.
Recycling
Please follow the latest guidelines to dispose all
packaging, and where necessary, the disposal of
neodymium magnets and ABS plastics.
Plastics
The plastic used in the production of whatlock® are
ABS (Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styren).
Always keep the magnetic key in a
safe place.
Ensure the magnetic key is out of the
reach of children.
whatlock® uses very strong magnets – keep away
from credit cards, pacemakers and sensitive
electronic and storage devices.
whatlock® will operate through glass, wood,
ceramic tiles, laminates and non-ferrous metals.
whatlock® is suitable for cupboards, drawers and
cabinets up to 25mm (1 inch).
