Check the locaon where the air condioner will be installed.
Make sure you have everything necessary for correct installaon.
The locaon should provide:
Grounded electrical outlet within 6 (183 cm) of where the
power cord exits the air condioner.
NOTE: Do not use an extension cord.
Free movement of air in room to be cooled.
A large enough opening for the air condioner. Installaon
parts are supplied for double-hung windows.
Adequate wall support for weight of air condioner. Air
condioner weighs 50 lbs to 75 lbs (22.7 kg to 34 kg).
NOTE: Cabinet louvers must not be obstructed. Air must be able
to pass freely through the cabinet louvers.

Electrical Requirements—All Models
The electrical rangs for your air condioner are listed on the
model and serial number label. The model and serial number
label is located on the right-hand side of the air condioner
cabinet.
Specific electricalrequirements are listed in the “Power Supply
Cord Electrical Requirements” chart. Follow the requirements for
the type of plug shown in the chart.
Recommended Grounding Method
This air condioner must be grounded. This air condioner is
equipped with a power supply cord having a grounded 3 prong
plug. To mi nimize possible shock hazard, the cord must be
plugged into a mang,grounded 3 prong outlet, grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances. If a mang outlet
is not available, it is the customer's responsibility to have a
properly grounded 3 prong outlet installed by a qualified electrical
installer.

To assure that the electrical installaon is adequate and in
conformance with Naonal Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA
70-latest edion, and all local codes and ordinances.

NOTE: Yo ur air condioner’s device may differ from the one
shown.
This room air condioner is equipped with a power supply co rd
required by UL. This power supply cord contains state-of-the-art
electronics that sense leakage current. If the cord is crushed, the
electronics detect leakage current and power will be
disconnected in a fracon of a second.
To test your power supplycord:
1. Plug power supply cord into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
2. Press RESET (on some devices, a green light will turn on).
3. Press TEST (listen for click; Reset buon will trip, and on
some devices, a green light will turn off).
4. Press and release RESET (listen for click; Reset buon will
latch, and on some devices, a green light will turn on). The
power supply cord is ready for operaon.

overthe adhesive wi th your fingers. Wipe with warm water
and dry.
Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable
fluids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or glue. These
products can damage the surface of your air condioner.
Remove any packaging materials inserted into the side
louvers.
Dispose of/recycle packaging materials.

When Overnight mode ends, the air condioner will go
into Cool mode and the thermostat seng will return to
the original Overnight mode temperature seng.
Fan Only—Only the fan runs. Press FAN SPEED to select
Low, Medium or High. The Bar LEDshows 1 bar for Low,
2 bars for Medium and 3 bars for High fan speed. The

Timed On Off
The Timed On Offfuncon allows the air condioner to be set to
turn on or offany me during the day or night, or to turn on or off
at the same me each day.
NOTES:
The clock must be set to the correct me for Timed Funcon
to operate properly.
The Timed On Offfuncon may be set with the air condioner
in Standby mode, with the red LED on the Power buon lit, or
running, with the blue LED on the Power buon lit.

1. Press TIMED OFF. The Timed Offbuon LED will flash. The

NOTES:
When 6 th Sense ™System Control is selected, the unit will
measure the current room temperature sent by the remote
control. If the unit does not receive a signal from the remote
control, the current room temperature will be measured by
the unit.
Signals between the unit and the remote control can be
checked by raising and lowering the thermostat temperature.
To turn off6 th Sense TM System Control, press 6 th Sense on the
remote control. The 6 th Sense icon on the air condioner
control panel will turn off. The unit will return to the previous
sengs for cool, fan speed and temperature.
Fan Speed
1. Press FAN SPEED unl you see the Bar LED on the air
condioner control panel display for the desired seng.
2. Choose Low, Medium, High or Auto.
NOTES:
Auto fan speed and Temperature cannot be selected

In Eco and Cool modes, Auto fan speed is selected

NOTE: Aer 5 seconds, the display on the air condioner control

Temperature
Press the up arrow buon to raise the temperature. Each me
you press or hold the up arrow buon, the temperature will go
up 1ºF (1ºC) unl it reaches 86°F (30°C). The up LED on the
air condioner control panel will light
Press the down arrow buon to lower the temperature. Each
me you press or hold the down arrow buon, the
temperature will go down 1ºF (1ºC) unl it reaches 61°F
(16°C). The down LED on the air condioner control panel will
light.

CleaningtheAirFilter
The air filter is removable for easy cleaning. A clean filter helps
remove dust, lint, and other parcles from the air and is important
for best cooling and operang efficiency. Check the filter every
2 weeks to see whether it needs cleaning.
NOTE: Do not operate the air condioner without the filter in
place.
1. Turn offthe air condioner.
2. Remove the air filter by pressing down on the tabs on the air
intake grille and pulling the grille away from the air
condioner.

sloed tabs on the top and boom of the grille.
4. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean air filter. If the air filter is very
dirty, wash itinwarm water with a mild detergent.
NOTE: Do not wash the air filter in the dishwasher or use any
chemical cleaners. Air dry the air filter completely before
replacing to ensure maximum efficiency.
5. Reaach the air filter to the air intake grille.
6. Insert the air intake grille into the slots on the air condioner
and snap into place.

3. Air dry the front panel completely.
RepairingPaintDamage
Check once or twice a year for paint damage. This is very
important, especially in areas near oceans or where rust is a
problem. If needed, touch up with a good grade enamel paint.

Your air condioner needs annual maintenance to help ensure
steady, top performance throughout the year. Call your local
authorized dealer to schedule an annual checkup. The expense
of an annual inspecon is your responsibility.

Air condioner will not operate
The power supply cord has tripped (Reset buon has
popped out). Press and release RESET (listen for click; Reset
buon willlatch and on some devices, a green lightwill turn
on) to resume operaon.
A household fuse has blown, or circuit breaker has
tripped. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If the
problem connues, call an electrician. See “Electrical
Requirements.”
The Power buon has not been pressed. Press POWER.
The local power has failed. Wait for power to be restored.
Air condioner blows fuses or trips circuit breakers
Too many appliances are being used on the same circuit.
Unplug or relocate appliances that share the same circuit.
Time-delay fuse or circuit breaker of the wrong capacity
is being used. Replace with a me-delay fuse or circuit
breaker of the correct capacity. See “Electrical
Requirements.”
An extension cord is being used. Do not use an extension
cord with this or any other appliance.
You are trying to restart the air condioner too soon aer
turning offthe air condioner. Wait at least 3 minutes aer
turning offthe air condioner before trying to restart the air
condioner.
