Diagnostic Guide
Before servicing, check the following:

To properly check voltage, complete the following steps:
1. Unplug appliance or disconnect power.
2. Aach voltage measurement equipment to proper
connectors.
3. Plug in appliance or reconnect power and verify voltage.
4. Unplug appliance or disconnect power aer compleng
voltage measurement.
Service Diagnostic Mode/
Service Test Cycle
Allows service personnel to run the Service Test Cycle to verify
inputs to the dryer and funconality of the dryer control. You
may want to do a quick and overall checkup of the dryer with this
test before going to specic troubleshoong tests.
Acvang Service Diagnosc Mode
IMPORTANT: Use Service Diagnosc Mode without laundry in
the dryer.
See the chart on page 2-4 for a summary of the steps in the
Service Test Cycle.
To enter Service Diagnosc Mode:
1. Open and close the dryer door. The door must be closed to
enter Service Diagnosc Mode.
2. Be sure the dryer is in standby mode (plugged in with all
indicators o).
3. Press the following buon sequence: [Timed Dry], [Dryness
Level],[Start]; [Timed Dry]. [Dryness Level], [Start]; [Timed
Dry], [Dryness Level], [Start] all within 8 seconds. Once the
sequence is complete, the display will read “Service Mode”.
The display will go blank, and will have a 65 seconds delay
in acvity before the automac service cycle starts. During
this me, the service operator can enter in manual mode
by pressing [Timed Dry] for 5 seconds. Pressing [Timed Dry]
again will step through the automac tests manually.
4. During any point in the service cycle, pressing [Start] will
stop the service cycle and display the last stored fault.
Pressing [Start] for 5 seconds, will start the automac
service cycle again.
S1
During this step, the Display will show “S1” and check the status
of the Master Relays by “clicking” on the relays. This step lasts for
15 seconds before proceeding on to the next step.
S2
During this step, the display will show “S2” and will check the
status of the drain pump. Aer a short 5 seconds delay, the pump
will turn on for 30 seconds, draining what water is le in the
dryer sump into the water bole or drain hose.
S5
Checks the motor status while showing “S5” in the display; this
roune starts the motor movement in a clockwise direcon and
runs for 20 seconds before proceeding to the next step.
S7
Checks the motor status in the opposite direcon of “S5”
while showing “S7” in the display; this roune starts the motor
movement in a counter-clockwise direcon and runs for
20 seconds before proceeding to the next step.
S11
During this step, the display will show “S11” and will check the
status of the water level sensor. Aer a short 5 seconds delay, the
roune will check the measured water level in the sump against
what should be present aer the pump out in S2.
Service Cycle Outcome (PASS or FAIL):
On the display, the service cycle will show the results of the
service cycle steps.
END will show on the display once the service cycle is completed.
Last Fault Display
During any part of the service cycle, push buon 3 for 5 seconds
to display the last fault. Pressing the buon again will display the
next fault stored. To exit this state, push buon 3 for 5 seconds,
and the machine will return to the service cycle.
Activation with Saved Fault Codes
If there is a saved fault code, the F number will be shown in the
display. Only one acve fault code can be displayed. If no fault
codes are stored, the display shows “S07” and “F00” alternately.
Review the Fault/Error Codes beginning on page 2-4 for the
recommended procedure.
Unsuccessful Activation
If entry into Service Diagnosc Mode is unsuccessful, refer to the
following indicaons and acons:
Indicaon 1: None of the indicators or display turn on.
Acon: Make sure AC power is available to the dryer.
Indicaon 2: Display is on, but unable to enter Service Diagnosc
Mode.
Acon: Press and hold POWER unl “3-2-1”and then “YES”
appears in the display. Turn o the dryer display. Wait
10 seconds. Turn on the dryer display. Follow the Acvang
Service Diagnosc Mode instrucons on page 2-3.
Exit Procedure
To exit the Service Test Cycle, press and hold POWER or open and
close the door.
