Purpose
Chapter 1: Introduction 1
Purpose
This manual provides requirements for the Integris®2001 Headwall System
normal operation and maintenance. It also includes a parts list (in chapter 5) for
ordering replacement components.
Audience
This manual is intended for use by only facility-authorized personnel. Failure
to observe this restriction can result in severeinjury to peopleand serious
damage to equipment.
Organization
This manual contains seven chapters.
Chapter 1: Introduction
In addition to a brief description of this service manual, chapter 1 also provides
a product overview.
Chapter 2: Troubleshooting Procedures
Repair analysisproceduresare contained in this chapter.Use these procedures
to gather information, identify the maintenance need, and verify the
effectiveness of the repair.
Chapter 3: Theory of Operation
This chapter describes the application of the mechanical, electrical, and
hydraulic systems employed in this product.
Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment
Procedures
Chapter 4 contains the detailed maintenance proceduresdetermined necessary
in chapter 2.

Chapter 1: Introduction
The flexibility of the Integris®2001 Headwall System is the solution to
changes inpatient acuity levels, hospitaloccupancy rate, and technology. This
flexibility is demonstrated in the ability of the Integris®2001 Headwall
Systemto quickly add or relocate ancillary equipment on the accessory tracks.
The Integris®2001 Headwall System eliminates the cluttered look of current
headwalls and offers a clean, contemporary environment. The unit can accept
new equipment that may not have been planned for and provides physical
support of secondary equipment, brackets, shelves, and other patient headwall-
related items.
The Integris®2001 Headwall System consistsof a console raceway for
delivery of power and gas services from the wall. The raceway carries power
lines and supports auxiliary equipment. The area under the raceway contains
the piping for medicalgases.
System Features
The featuresof the Integris®2001 Headwall System include:
• Low voltage powerservice

• Emergency powerservice
• Multiple gas outlets
• Reducedclutter around the bed and placement of equipment at convenient
working levels for the staff
• Variable total length to meet requirements of larger open areas
• Flexibility for the hospital room tobe upgraded toa more sophisticated
level of care
• Adaptability for new services without the need to break into walls or
reconstruct the room
