Your Snitch
The Secret
Setting up
1. Wings On/Off Switch
2. Putty Connector
3. Activator Threads (8pcs)
4. Display Plinth
5. Spare Wings (2pcs)
The Mystery Flying Snitch has 8 Activator Threads (3), which are made from extremely thin material that connects the
product to the person. The threads are stronger than steel of the same thickness. The threads are so thin that they are
very difficult to see in normal use, giving the illusion the Snitch is flying by itself. This illusion is further enhanced by
the fluttering of the Snitch’s wings during flight.
The product comes with 8 near invisible threads, each of which are wound around a post and with a piece of sticky
putty attached to each end. On very close examination it can be seen that four of the threads are made up of 3
incredibly thin individual strings, while another 4 threads are made up from only 2 individual strings. It is advised that
players start by using the threads with 3 strings, as these are less likely to break, while the 2 string threads are even
more difficult to see, so an better illusion. More threads can be bought by following the links at www.wowstuff.com
Choose between the 3 string and 2 string threads depending on your experience. Place the posts on to table or other
flat surface with the posts pointing upwards (A). Carefully pull off one piece of putty from the top of one post. Move
the string up gently until the string is tight (B) and lifts the posts, then move down until slightly slack. Remove the
other pice of putty from the post.
Place the bottom thread through the slot in the top of
the Golden Snitch, pressing down the putty until firmly
attached (C).
Now attach the putty on the other end of the string to
either the lobe of your ear or the underside of a collar or
other garment. The Snitch should now hang down from
where it is attached to around your belly button. If it is too
long the string can be adjusted by rolling one end of the
string around the putty until it is the ideal length. You are
now ready to fly the Golden Snitch and amaze your friends
and family.

The Snitch comes with a pair (two) extra wings, in case
the original wings become damaged or lost. The wings can
easily be detached from the Snitch body by holding the
base of the wings between thumb and forefinger with one
hand and pulled out, while the other hand holds the Snitch
firmly. A new wing can then be inserted in to the hole.
1. Unscrew the battery
compartment lid.
3. Insert 2 new batteries
2. Remove old batteries.
4. Screw closed the
battery compartment lid.
The Snitch required 2 x 1.5V L1154F(LR44/AG13) batteries, which are included. After a certain amount of time the
wings will beat less vigorously and the batteries will need changing. Change the batteries by following steps shown.
1. Switch the Snitch Wing On/ Off Switch (1) to On and
the wings will begin to flutter quickly.
2. Lean forward so the Snitch hangs vertically in a
straight line.
3. Move one of your hands to ‘take control’ of the Snitch
pushing the thread between your thumb and first finger,
(as shown right.)
4. Gently move your hand around and the snitch will follow.
Try also turning around and letting the Snitch move right around your body. Invent new tricks yourself, and see some
we have following our online tutorial. If the threads get caught in the wings, it is advised to remove the wings and
untangle before re-inserted the wings back again - see section ‘Removing and Changing Wings’
