1 Note
1.1 Installation Precautions
Do not place the equ pment near flammable or conduct ve tems, h gh temperatures (such as
d rect sunl ght) or n wet cond t ons, or on a PC chass s, and check that the surround ng
appl ances are stable.
Check the cable for ag ng. Check and ver fy that the AC or DC nput voltage s w th n the
perm ss ble range of the dev ce and that the polar ty of the DC s correct.
Unless the manufacturer perm t, use the type of power nd cated on the label and the adapter
suppl ed w th the product.
To prevent damage to the product from l ghtn ng, make sure that the ground of the power
outlet and the power adapter s securely grounded. In the thunderstorm, be sure to unplug the
power and all the connect ons.
Equ pment nput voltage fluctuat on should be less than 10%, the power plug, refr gerators,
ha r dryer and ron should not use the same socket.
To avo d electr c shock or f re due to overload of the power outlet, damage to the cord or
damage to the plug, check the power cord regularly. If damage s found, replace t
mmed ately.
Please place the dev ce on a flat surface and can not place tems on the dev ce.
Equ pment s easy to produce heat when work ng, should ma nta n the appropr ate cool ng
space to avo d damage caused by overheat ng products. The elongated hole on the shell s
des gned for heat d ss pat on. Keep the vent lat on clean and avo d fall ng from the heat s nk
nto the equ pment. Otherw se, the equ pment may be damaged or f re. Do not sp ll l qu d
onto the surface of the equ pment.
1.2 Precautions for Use
Please read the user manual carefully before us ng the equ pment and follow all the
precaut ons on the user manual and the product.
Avo d eye looked at the opt cal nterface d rectly, so as to avo d the laser beam em tted by the
nterface damage the eyes. Please try to wear safety glasses to effect vely protect your eyes

from damage. It s best to plug n the f ber opt c nterface jacket when the opt cal nterface s
not n use .
Turn off the power when the dev ce s not n use
Before plugg ng the power supply, make sure that the power sw tch s turned off to avo d
surge. Be careful when unplugg ng the power supply and the transformer temperature may be
h gh.
To ensure safety, do not open the enclosure of the dev ce, espec ally when the dev ce s
powered up.
Unplug the power supply before clean ng the equ pment. Use a soft dry cloth to clean the
equ pment to avo d the use of l qu ds or sprays.
Do not connect th s product to any electron c product unless t s nstructed by our customer
eng neer or your broadband suppl er, as any ncorrect connect on may cause power or f re
hazard.
2 Brief
Realtek EPON SFU ser es of term nal equ pment s based on EPON technology based on the
broadband access market, to meet the broadcaster operators broadband access and FTTH, and
des gn pass ve opt cal network term nal products that ntegrate CATV opt cal rece ver and ach eve
broadband, CATV dual network ntegrat on. It s based on mature and stable, cost-effect ve
G gab t EPON technology and ntegrate G gab t Ethernet sw tch ng technology, WDM technology
and HFC l ght recept on technology, w th h gh rel ab l ty, easy management and good qual ty of
serv ce (QoS) and so on. Techn cal performance of equ pment meet the IEEE802.3ah, Ch na
Telecom EPON equ pment techn cal requ rements (V2.1 / V3.0) and other requ rements.
EPON technology s a comb nat on of PON technology and Ethernet technology advantages
of emerg ng technolog es, s a po nt to mult -po nt network ng technology,w th h gh bandw dth,
h gh eff c ency, large coverage, r ch user nterface and many other advantages, s the operator to
ach eve access network bus ness broadband, ntegrated transformat on of the deal technology.
The Realtek EPON SFU ser es term nal dev ces are equ pped w th 1-4 10M / 100M / 1000M
adapt ve nterface and a CATV nterface. The equ pment has been mplemented w th EPON
central off ce equ pment (Huawe / ZTE / F berHome / Alcatel-Lucent) OLT) nteroperab l ty,
composed of G gab t systems, to meet access needs of the two- n-one v deo, data serv ces, FTTH /
FTTO.

2.4 Device Connection
Connect the f ber: Insert the SC f ber connector nto the PON connector on the rear
panel of the ONU.
Connect the Ethernet cable: Connect the RJ-45 Ethernet cable to any LAN port and each
home dev ce, that s, the computer, IPTV set-top box, and so on.
Connect the AC adapter: Plug the AC / DC adapter nto the AC wall jack and the ONU
12V DC power jack.
Press power sw tch. The equ pment can prov de bus ness serv ces f the l ghts are
normal after power supply for the ONU.

2.5 Applications
2.6 ONU Instructions
Realtek EPON SFU ONU s ma nly work n the br dge mode, all the conf gurat on of ONU
(ONU port vlan, ONU port speed l m t, etc.) are bas cally conf gured through the OLT, but also
through the OLT and EMS network management to manage, It does not need to be conf gured on
the ONU's local WEB. The conf gurat on manual s to gu de customers to do some bas c v ew and
conf gurat on operat on for Realtek EPON SFU ONU. Other conf gurat ons of the ONU can be
conf gured accord ng to each manufacturer's OLT conf gurat on manual.
3 Login eb Management Locally
3.1 Physical Connection of ONU and PC
a) Local NIC of PC connects to LAN port or ETH port of ONU v a w res.
b) Set the IP address of PC’s local NIC as 192.168.101.X (X:2-254).

c) Open cmd w ndows and make sure that PC can p ng the management IP (192.168.101.1)
of ONU.
3.2 PC Access the EB of ONU
Make sure you can p ng the ONU l ke #3.1. Open the IE eb bro s wer (IE, Firefox,
Google), copy and paste URL: http: //192.168.101.1, the follow ng pop-up Prompt land n-g page:

7 ONU Diagnostic
7.1 ONU Loop Diagnostic
Log n ONU WEB. Cl ck Diagnostics Loop Detect, we can enable or d sable loop detect
funct on of ONU.
Note: Conf gured the loop detect funct on, we have to pay attent on to conf gurat on of
th s funct on that conf gured v a OLT. Some k nds of OLT w ll d sable loop detect funct on by
default.
7.2 Ping Diagnostic

8 ONU System Management
8.1 Register LOID of ONU Config
The LOID of ONU s ma nly used for the authent cat on of LOID and LOID+Password
from OLT. By default, EPON ONU reg ster to the OLT by MAC address but less LOID so that we
needn’t conf gure the LOID. But the way to conf gure the LOID s as below

sett ngs, and cl ck ‘Reset’ button to restore the ONU sett ngs to default.
8.7 Modify the Account and password
Default system management account and password are adminisp/adminisp
Default system common account and password are admin/admin

management account and common account, and cl ck ‘Apply’ button to f n sh the sett ngs.

8.8 Upgrade the ONU
F rstly, we have to get a newest f rmware from prov der.
Log n ONU WEB. Cl ck Admin Firmware Upgrade. In here, cl ck ‘Select file button to
select a upgrade f le, and cl ck ‘Upgrade’ button to upgrade the ONU.
Note: We needn’t extract Realtek project product on’s f rmware, just upgrade the .tar f le. It
w ll take 4 m nutes to upgrade. After upgrad ng, the ONU w ll reboot automat cally. We needn’t
reboot t by manual.
