The Pediatric Positioning Chair features an adjustable form-fitting seat that is perfect for secure immobilization of young patients
aged infant to four years old. The chair rotates on 5 high-quality lockable casters, allowing easy position changes for all of the
necessary views. Adjustable back and head-tilt support fits patients of all sizes and a lead lined horn protects the genital area.
Detector holder included or may be used with upright bucky. Made from easy-to-clean germ-resistant nonporous polyethylene.
Views: C-Spine (AP, Lateral, Oblique), Chest (AP, Lateral), Abdominal (AP), Magnified Airway (AP, Lateral), Standing Lower Extremities (AP).
Includes cassette holder.

3. SEATING CONFIGURATIONS
The Pediatric Positioning Chair offers two seating configurations for infants and toddlers. The seat can slide easily in and out of the
multi-level slots, as shown below. Both seating options offer a saddle horn knob that aids in proper positioning and contains a
protective genital lead shield for patient safety.
INFANT X-Ray Positioning (up to 8 months old)
The form-sitting infant saddle-style seat is used for infants up to 8 month old. Soft
stretchy straps are used to safely secure the patient’s arms in the desired pose. The
chin strap is also used to support the infant’s head and neck.
TODDLER X-Ray Positioning (up to 4 years old, depending on size)
The bench-style seat is used for toddlers and children up to four years old,
depending on their individual size. The chair back is adjustable depending on the
height of the child and the seat height is adjustable with multi-level slots. The
upper-level can generally be used for children whose head can fit comfortably in
the headrest while still allowing the chin to remain slightly elevated. The lower-
level seat slot can be used for taller children, typically 3 years and older. Non-
stretchy straps are included for strong toddlers to secure their arms and the
padded chin strap helps achieve the desired head tilt.

5. USING THE PEDIATRIC POSITIONING CHAIR
There are two steps needed to prepare for taking x-rays:
Preparing the chair for use (see 6-8 below) and Positioning the Patient for X-Rays (see 9 below).
6. PREPARING THE CHAIR FOR USE
Determine if you will need the infant seat or toddler seat configuration. Insert the correct seat in the either the upper slot (for shorter
patients) or lower slot (for taller patients) and lock the seat in place using the safety pin (shown below):
Store the unused seat in the storage slot at the base of the chair. Lock the casters in place using the foot levers shown below.

7. USE WITH BUCKY
Position the Pediatric Positioning Chair next
to the bucky. Place x-ray film in the bucky
and adjust the film position as needed.
8. USING THE CASSETTE HOLDER
Choose AP or Lateral position then choose the cassette height
9. POSITIONING THE PATIENT FOR X-RAYS
Note: The backside of the chair contains strips allowing you to quickly secure all of the safety straps.
1. Place the patient gently on the seat. Hold the patient's head securely and attach the belly strap.
2. Position the headrest by turning the knob clockwise or counterclockwise, which will allow you to
move the chair’s back up or down. The back of the patient's head should rest comfortably within the
upper padded head crescent, while also allowing them to elevate their chin slightly. Turn the knob
again to lock the chair in place.
3. Secure the chin strap using the strips on the backside of the chair.

4. FOR C-SPINE AND MAGNIFIED AIRWAY IMAGES
Position the arms in the down position and secure the
elbow straps just above the joint.
5. FOR CHEST AND ABDOMINAL IMAGES
Position the arms in the upwards position. Secure the first
strap below the elbow and then secure the wrist strap.
NOTE: the seat knob may be removed during abdominal imaging.
6. For toddlers, place feet behind the anti-kick strap (optional)
7. Attach the seat knob
NOTE: For Abdominal images, the seat knob may be removed during imaging.
8. Position the genital shield
9. You are ready to take x-rays. There is no need to reposition the patient for different views. The chair
is able to be rotated around its central axis to quickly reposition as needed. This allows for an effortless
and more accurate procedure with minimal impact on the patient.
10. MAINTENANCE OF THE PEDIATRIC POSITIONING CHAIR
The Pediatric Positioning Chair is made of scratch-resistant polyethylene polymer with a radiolucent chair back.
To clean the chair, simply use a damp cloth and mild soap solution as needed. To disinfect, use a standard hospital disinfectant.
