1. General
BM5 is the handheld digital medical video otoscope with own 2.8’ TFT color LCD
screen, which used to inspect ear’s canal and tympanic membrane.
Digital photographs and videos can be recorded in real time and can be
transferred to PC by USB connection port. Date and time displays on screen to
record what you see in real time.
2. Scope
BM5 is suitable for hospital, clinic, outpatient department, emergency room and
medical ward to viewable examination for ear. Home health care are also
applicable.

BM5 includes CMOS camera (with lens), handheld unit, 2.8 inches LCD screen,
Rechargeable Battery, SD card and AV/USB cables.

7. Operating instructions
Step 1: Assemble the marks of Lens and main Unit.
Step 2: Hold the lens and insert to main unit.

Step 3: It is powered on by pressing the power button . Approximately 2
seconds later, the green light is on, the starting picture indicates on the LCD
display.
Step 4: Menu Screen
Press button and enter to “Menu” mode. It is recommended to set the
operation condition according to the user’s requirement for the first time use.
Menu list: date/time format, language, TV output format, date/time set
The user can press to select, and press to enter next
menu and to confirm your choice.
Step 5: Press to take photos
Press to record videos
Step 6: Press to see the saved photos and videos. The user can press
to select, and press to check.
Being in photo mode, press to zoom-in (Max 8 times), then press ,
the image is able to move left and right by
Being in video mode, press to replay, then press to select
replay speed.
Step 7: Press to return to the initial operation screen.
Step 8: Press to shut off, the green light is off.

9. Recharging and Connecting
Recharging: Connecting power adapter and BM5 main unit for recharging.
AV connecting: Via AV cable, Connect external monitor to BM5 to see larger
images in real time.
USB connecting: Via USB cable, Connect any computer to BM5 to do data
transfer.
When connecting with computer, the left red light is on. Press , the right
green light is on too. At the same time connecting identifier indicates on the LCD
display.

10. Notes and Warnings
Do not immersion disinfection, especially the lens.
Sterilize the handheld main unit with the soft cloth with 75% alcohol diluted.
Clean the screen with soft cloth moistened with water. Do not use alcohol,
diluents and detergent.
Clean the lens before each use for a new patient:
Disinfect the lens with soft cloth or cotton ball moistened with alcohol (75% ethyl
alcohol).
For the otoscope lens, please avoid being knocked, touched by sharp
objects and scratching. Otherwise the images will be affected.
To prevent fire or electrical shock, do not expose the otoscope to rain or
moisture. Do not use the otoscope in flammable explosive gas environment
Do not use BM5 while charging.
The battery should be charged regularly what ever BM5 is used or not.
When using otoscope lens, gently insert into the ear canal and have to keep
a safety distance between the specula and tympanic membrane. Do not
make the lens contact with ear’s tympanic membrane.

11. Warranty
The warranty of otoscope is 12 months since exportation date.
The following cases are not included in warranty.
Natural disasters, man-made damage, lack of reasonable care,
self-disassembling.
