HELPFULHINTS
• Never place an item outside of the
disinfection range. This is between 12
inches from the front wall of the pod and
6 inches from the back wall.
• Ensure all high-touch surfaces are
extended (e.g., keyboard pulled out from
under Computer on Wheel tabletop,
or blood pressure cuff removed from
Dynamap basket).
• When possible, position all high-touch
surfaces so that they face the robot. To
prevent shadowing, place multiple pieces
of equipment of similar height back to
back, and evenly separate them within the
disinfection range.
• Place taller equipment (e.g., IV pole)
behind shorter equipment (e.g.,
wheelchair) to minimize shadowing and
maximize direct line of sight exposure.
• Stagger the placement of multiple
equipment on poles and adjust the
vertical height of control panels if
necessary in order to maximize direct
line of sight exposure.
Examples of combinations portable
medical equipment can be placed
inside of the pod.
– 1 computer on wheels
– 1 wheelchair
– 3 IV poles/dynamaps
– 2 commodes
– 1 wheelchair + 1 IV pole
– 1 NICU isolette

1. Unlocking the frame; at each of the four corner posts, pull out the white circular ring pin of the locking slide
mechanism to release the frame and apply light pressure downward on the corner slide. You should feel
the frame slump inward slightly as the corners are released (Fig: 4A).
2. Depress the corner truss press tabs you used to raise the pod, and lower to its lowest height.
3. Bend down and pull the white circular knob outward toward you while liing up on the center push plate.
Repeat this step on the second truss assembly. (Fig: 4B).
WARNING! Attempting to close the frame without releasing both the 4 locking corner slides and releasing
the 2 lower truss assemblies at each end will cause frame damage if forced. If the frame does not easily
start to articulate into the closed position, STOP! Check each of the 4 corner release points and the two
lower truss to release them and then proceed in folding the frame closed. Misuse of the product resulting in
broken upper truss is not covered under warranty.
4. Secure the two storage straps on the le (Short Side of Envelope) pulling them
up and through the clips, folding the straps onto themselves to secure them in
place (Fig: 4C).
5. On the right (Long Side Envelope) release the bottom Velcro loops and raise
them above the locking slider piece, wrapping them around each of the posts
(Fig: 4C).
6. Fold the frame in to the closed position, tuck the envelope within the frame and
secure with the black Velcro security belt.(Fig: 4D).
7. Pull the storage cover over the frame (Fig: 4E).

SPECIFICATIONS:
Notes and Specifications:
Transporting the LightStrike® Disinfection Pod: There are two wheels located at the
bottom of the Pod so that when it is closed the Pod can be wheeled much like a hand
truck for relocation and deployment throughout the facility.
1. Stand in front of the unit making sure the wheels are facing you.
2. Place both hands on each side of the frame corner posts nearest you at chest
high level.
3. Pull the top of the unit toward you keeping your elbows locked close to your sides.
4. Balance the load and then walk forward keeping your elbows rigid to your sides for
stability (Fig: 5-A).
NOTEPlease use caution when relocating the pod and always maintain both hands on
the pod for balancing the load and control while in motion. If you feel the task of
relocating the pod is too difficult get a second person to help.
LightStrike® Disinfection Pod Specifications:

The frame is comprised of steel with a powder coated finish. It also has molded
plastic parts. The frame weight 39.5 lbs.
The exterior envelope material is a poly pongee ripstop material. The internal material is bonded pure aluminum
materialized to the external cover material. The envelope is flame rated to U.S. NFPA 701 standards. The envelope
weight, 17 lbs.
Cleaning and Maintaining the Pod:
The Frame: Can be wiped down with detergent solutions and quaternary disinfectants.
If bleach or ammonia is used we recommend a 5% solution. For the molded plastic components, use a
detergent and cloth to clean them.
The Envelope: The interior material is a highly reflective pure aluminum bonded material so the “full spectrum”
UVC output of the LightStrike Robot can achieve maximum reflection within the Pod. Remove any dust and debris
with microfiber cloth. Rub soil marks with a mild soap and water detergent and a non abrasive cloth.
DO NOT clean the internal material with any compounds containing ammonia, chlorine or other oxidizing or
abrasive agents or cloth.
The exterior envelope material can be cleaned with detergents on soiled areas. The envelope should be dry
before putting the unit away in storage.
Operating Safety:
- Never use the envelope if a tear has developed in the material. Repair small tears in the material with a
nylon coated tape.
- Never start a disinfection cycle without confirming and inspecting that both cargo door zippers are
secured and zipped in the close position.
- Never collapse the pod or attempt to relocate it before removing the Robot.
