■Installation and safety precaution
Keep away from heat, humidity, dust,
and objects that vibrate
Do NOT locate the unit in places of high temperature
or humidity, such as areas nearing the radiator, oven,
etc, and places dusty or close to vibrating objects.
Drastic shocks can also result in damages to the unit.
Hence, be gentle and careful while moving the unit.
■Store the unit under ventilation
Store the unit in well
ventilated place; avoid
leaving objects around
the vent of the unit.
To avoid fire accident, there should be at
least 10CM space between the ambient
objects and the rear panel and the right
and left sides of the unit; and at least 20CM
space from the top surface.

of the unit, or a fire.
2. Do NOT use DC, especially on a ship
or other places where DC is used.

■Unplug from electricity if the unit

As long as the power
cord is connected to
the socket, despite
that the unit is turned
off, it is still connected
to 220V high tension AC. Hence, please unplug
the outlet if you decide not to use it in a long time.
■Power Cautions: do not open!
CAUTION!
Do not repair the unit by yourself or re-systemise it.
There are no spare parts provided for such case.
Reparation has to be performed by professional
electricians. Self-repairing and relocation of any
internal parts can generate further difficulty for the
engineers and cause danger for the unit as well as
for yourself.
PRECAUTION!
Do NOT let your kids insert any objects into the
unit,
especially metallic objects. Coins, screws and other
small metallic items can cause serious electric
shock or misfunction. If water is found splashed
into
the unit, it can cause serious electric shock and fire.
In this case, please first disconnect the power and
handle carefully. Insect spray, ethyl products, and
thinner can age the plastic parts and deform the
appearance of the unit. In occasions, spray can even
lead to a fire accident.

SAFETY INFORMATION
Installation Warnings
Ventilation Slots and openings in the case are provided for ventilation to ensure reliable operation of the video
product and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not the blocked or covered. The openings should
never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or heat register. This product should not be placed in
a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack, unless proper ventilation is provided or the video product
manufacturer instructions have been followed.
Power Lines : An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines, other
electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside
antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching or approaching such power lines or circuits,
as contact with them might be fatal. Installing an outdoor antenna can be hazardous and should be left to a
professional antenna installer.
Lightning :For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and
unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This
will prevent damage to the video product due to lightning and power line surges.
Compulsory Warnings
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent, or a similarly qualified
person, in order to avoid a hazard. This product has not been designed for any uses other than those specified in
this booklet.
Laser Safety
This compact disc player is classified as a CLASS 1
Laser Product.
Only qualified service personnel should remove the cover or attempt to service this device due to possible eye
injury. Invisible laser radiation when open and interlock failed or defeated.
Avoid direct exposure to beam.

GENERAL INFORMATION
CAUTION!
The machine does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Please leave all maintenance work to qualified
personnel.
Setup precautions
Finding a suitable location
– Place the set on a flat, hard and stable surface. Do not place the set on a carpet.
– Do not position the set on top of other equipment that might heat it up (e.g., receiver or amplifier)
– Do not put anything under the set (e.g., CDs, magazines).
– Install this unit near theAC outlet where the AC power plug can be easily reached.
Space for ventilation
– Place the apparatus in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent
internal heat build up.Allow at least 10 cm (4.5”) clearance from the
rear and the top of the set and 5cm (2.3”) from the left and right to
prevent overheating.
Avoid high temperatures, moisture, water and dust
– Apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing.
– Do not place any sources of danger on the apparatus (e.g., liquid filled objects, lighted candles).

Cleaning discs
Some problems occur (frozen picture, sound disruptions, picture distortions) because the disc inside the unit is
dirty. To avoid these problems, discs should be cleaned on a regular basis. To clean a disc, use a micro fi bre
cleaning cloth and wipe the disc from the centre to the edge in a straight line.
CAUTION!
Do not use solvents such as benzene, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or anti-static sprays
intended for discs
About recycling
These instructions have been printed on non-polluting paper. The electronic equipment contains a large number of
materials that can be recycled. If you are disposing of an old machine, please take it to a recycling centre. Please
observe the local regulations regarding disposal of packaging materials, exhausted batteries and old equipment.

GENERALINFORMATION

Helpful indication:
When you have problems with playing disc, please take it out and try another disc. Improper format discs will
not able to be played.
How to deal with disc
– Highly data compaction is written in video CD. That’s why those discs require particular cautiousness and
care, when we touch them.
– Take the CD disc in hands, holding edge/or through hole in the middle.
– Do not touch the playback side of the disc by finger.
– Do not perish or scratch this disc.
– Do not put discs in places subject to direct sunlight or near heat sources.
– Store discs vertically at cool dry place.
– Do not store discs in places subject to moisture and dust.
– Wipe the disc lightly with a soft cloth from the middle to the edge. Do not use any type of solvent spirit or
spray.

MAIN UNIT
Front Panel:
1. POWER button - Press to switch the set on or off.
2. 3 IN1 CARD SLOT – Connects with the card.
3. USB PORT – Connects with the digital media.
4. DISC TRAY(DOOR) - Open this door to place the disc.
5. OPEN/CLOSE button - Opens and closes the disc tray
6. Remote control signal sensor - Receives the signal from the REMOTE CONTROL
(aim the REMOTE towards this sensor)
7. DISPLAY WINDOW - shows working status.
8. PLAY/PAUSE button - Press to start playing the DVD/CD disc or to pause playing
9. STOP-Used DVD menu,Press to open stop play monentarily or fully.
10.SOURCE button - This button is set for playback shift between DVD,USB device and CARD.
Press this button repeatedly to change the signal input source from DVD to CARD, then to
USB. If the USB device has several disk area, access to different areas
are the entertainment file, including picture file as JPEG, audio files as MP3, WMA,
Video files as AVI etc, can be played directly by pressing ENTER or PLAY. Press "SOURCE”
key on the remote control to do the same operation.
Hint of USB/CARD reader connection:
Xwave USB/CARD reader player can support USB device, such as MP3 player, Handdrive, HDD up to
80G,and different storage cards such as SD card, MS card, MMC card at amazing reading speed.
Just connect your USB device through the USB port to Xwave 5000, or insert the card into the
card slot,then easily enjoy the entertainment fun from your personal storage device.

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
A Open the battery compartment.
B Insert two batteries type AAA, following the indications inside the
compartment.
C Close the cover.
D Point the remote control directly at the remote sensor (IR) on the front
panel.
E Select the source you wish to control
F Then select the desired function
CAUTION!
–Remove batteries if they are exhausted or if the remote control is not to be used for a long time.
–Do not mix batteries (old and new or carbon and alkaline, etc.).
–Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly.
Basic instruction:
– Cautions! Be sure turn off power and unplug unit before connecting.
– Different from other visual format, DVD provides you wide visual option, which allows on many devices
from standard TV with stereophonic out to home cinema system with projector and all spatial and caustic
possibilities.
– Please read manual of every device carefully
– Do not place any objects or any other device on DVD player,
– Be sure wither the cable is connected properly,
– The DVD player shall be directly connected to the TV or other audio receiver. Any other connection could
cause distortion.
– Hereinafter we introduce several options of sound and picture connection with DVD. Choose one of the
options. (Don’t combine them together).

Basic stereo sound connections
Stereo sound connection to TV set
Stereo sound connection to stereo receiver
– Use RCA Audio cable. Cable with red connector from sockets “FR” in the DVD
player and “Right Audio In” in TV set or stereo receiver, while white connector
from sockets “FL” in DVD player and to “Left Audio In” in the TV set or stereo
receiver.
– In connection from L/R with stereo TV set or stereo receiver, remember to
setup DOWNMIX status in Audio menu into STEREO. (See AUDIO SETUP Page)

Cautions! (Refer to optical cable connection)
Before connecting, shuck the bung dustproof from the ending of optical cable. Put in jack in amplifier and
player orderly. Retain bung and cover the ending of the cable and cable many times that the cable will be took
out from the socket.
DON’T CONNECT OPTICAL CABLE OR COAXIAL CABLE TO DEVICE, WHICH DOESN’T
HAVE BUILT-IN DECODER DOLBY DIGITAL.THE DIFFENCE OF OUTPUT SIGNALS, MAY
CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO BOTH DEVICES.
VIDEO connection
Composite video connection
-Use the yellow RCA cable to do composite video connection, which is of a normal video signal. Put
Yellow RCA end from VIDEO output socket from DVD player, to VIDEO input socket in TV set or AV
receiver.
-Remember to press VIDEO SW on remote control to change to OFF status. Or go to VIDEO SETUP
PAGE to set the COMPONET as OFF.
S-Video connection
-Use the S-Video cable to connect, which is of a higher video signal. Put one side end from S-VIDEO
output socket from DVD player, to S-VIDEO input socket in TV set or AV receiver.
-Remember to press VIDEO SW on remote control to change to OFF status. Or go to VIDEO SETUP
PAGE to set the COMPONET as OFF.
SCART connection
-Use the 21pin Euro SCART cable to connect to DVD player and TV set, to get a better video and audio
signal together. In case of SCART connection, it is not necessary to connect DVD player and TV set with
RCA audio cable any more. The EURO CART cable has audio and video transferring capacity.
-Remember to press VIDEO SW on remote control to cahnge to RGB status. Or go to VIDEO SETUP
PAGE to set the COMPONENT as RGB.
Component video connection
-Use the YUV cable (of three cables, in colors of RED, BLUE ,GREEN ) to connect DVD player with TV
set or AV receiver, to get the best video signal output to TV or monitor. Connect the Green cable from Y
socket of DVD player, blue cable from Pb/Cb socket of DVD player, red cable from Pr/Cr socket of DVD
player, to the same color socket in TV set orAV receiver.
-Remember to press VIDEO SW on remote control to change to YUV status. Or go to VIDEO SETUP
PAGE to set the COMPONET as YUV.

POWER
Before putting the plug of power supply cable to the outlet, make sure that all connections are correct. When you
are sure that you are doing correctly, then put the plug carefully to the power supply socket.
Press the button POWER on the front panel of device. Then press the button POWER on the remote control.
The VFD of this player display LOADING, means working mode of the player.
When the device is connected with power, the short switching over voltage of electricity could cause interference
with other electronics connected to the same circuit. If this situation will happen, the device shall be connected to
the socket in another circuit.

GETTING STARTED
A. Press to stop playback (if any),then press SETUP .
B. Press repeatedly to select { Preference Page }.
C. Use keys to highlight one of the options below, then press ENTER.
Audio
Select the preferred audio language for DVD playback.
Subtitle
Select the preferred subtitle language for DVD playback.
Disc Menu
Select the preferred disc menu language for DVD playback.
D. Use keys to select a language and press ENTER to confirm.
E. Repeat steps C ~ D for other settings.
Helpful Hints:
–During DVD playback, you can switch the audio and subtitle languages by pressing the AUDIO and
SUBTITLE buttons on the remote control. However, this does not change the default settings you have made
here.
–For some DVDs, the subtitle/audio/menu language can only be changed via the DVD disc menu.

GETTING STARTED
Setting the in MPEG-4
Option “MPEG-4 Subtitle setup” is designed for users who watch films in Standard MPEG-4 (Divx/ XViD).
Those functions installed here used for display subtitle inscriptions effectively and properly .
A Press SETUP on the remote control.
B Press repeatedly to select { MPEG4Subtitle Setup Page }.
C Press to move the highlight, select your favor setting.

Playable discs
Your DVD player will play:
– Digital Versatile Discs (DVDs)
– Video CDs (VCDs)
– Super Video CDs (SVCDs)
– DVD+Recordable (DVD±R), DVD+Rewritable (DVD±RW)
– Audio Compact Discs (CDs)
– MP3/ Windows Media™Audio(WMA)
– Picture CD (Kodak, JPEG)
– DivX files on CD-R(W)/DVD+R(W):
– DivX 3.11/4.0/5.0
– Xvid
Region Codes for DVD discs
DVD discs and players are designed with regional restrictions. Before playing a disc, make sure the disc is for the
same region as your player. The regional code for this DVD system is indicated at the rear panel.
IMPORTANT!
–If the inhibit icon (ø or X) appears on the TV screen when a button is pressed, it means the function is not
available on the current disc or at the current time.
–Do not put any objects other than discs on the disc tray. Doing so may cause the disc player to
malfunction.
Playing a disc
ATurn on the TV to the Video In channel for the DVD system (e.g. ‘EXT’, ‘0’, ‘AV’).
You should see the DVD background LOGO screen on the TV.
B Press OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc tray and load a disc, then press the same button again to close the disc tray.
Make sure the disc label is facing up. For double-sided discs, load the side which you want to play facing up.
You can also hold down the STOP button on the remote control to open and close the disc tray.
C Playback will start automatically. See the following pages for more playback options and features.
Helpful Hint:
– If you are having trouble playing a certain disc, remove the disc and try a different one. Improperly formatted
discs will not play on this DVD system.

DISC OPERATIONS
Basic playback controls
During playback, press to pause the playback. Press again to resume playback
Selecting another track/chapter , Press / or use the numeric keypad (0-9) to key in a track/chapter
number. If the repeat track mode is active, press again to replay the same track/ chapter. (DivX movie is not
workable with this NEXT and PREVIOUS function.)
Searching backward/forward Hold down .
While searching, press / repeatedly to decrease/increase the search speed. To resume normal playback,
press (or PLAY on the remote control). Stopping playback Press
Helpful Hint:
This is a power-saving feature, the system will automatically switch to Eco Power standby mode if you do not
press any buttons within 30 minutes after a disc has stopped playing. Please press POWER key on remote to
resume it.
Selecting various repeat functions
While playing a disc, press REPEAT on the remote control repeatedly to choose a repeat play mode.
DVD
– RPT ONE (repeat chapter)
– RPT TT (repeat title)
– SHUFFLE (random play)
– RPT SHF (repeat random play)
– RPT OFF (exit repeat mode)
VCD/SVCD/CD
– RPT ONE (repeat track)
– RPT ALL (repeat disc)
– SHUFFLE (random play)
– RPT SHF (repeat random play)
– RPT OFF (exit repeat mode)
MP3/DivX/Windows Media™Audio
– RPT ONE (repeat track)
– RPT ALL/FLD (repeat folder)
– SHUFFLE (random play)
– RPT OFF (exit repeat mode)
Helpful Hint:
Repeat playback is not possible on VCDs when the PBC mode is turned on.
