START UP
Important information
•Please insert the batteries in the remote temperature transmitter first, thereafter in the receiver
•Obstacles can severely impair the range of the transmitter.
•Protect the transmitter against direct sunlight.
•The weather forecast is only ready for operation 12 hours after the batteries are inserted.
TO GET STARTED, FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS:
•Open the battery compartment on the outdoor sensor (use both hands by shifting the lid to the
bottom of the sensor). Install the batteries matching the marked polarity. Note the two buttons
above the battery cradle. One marked °C°/F° (on the right side) and the other marked CH (on
the left side). The Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) Scale can be selected for the LCD readout of
this remote sensor by pressing the °C/°F button. When you press the CH button this will
change the transmitted channel. Make sure that the CH1 (or CH2 or CH3) appears on the
sensor's LCD. After that, close the battery compartment. To prevent water from entering the
sensor, it is important to make sure the battery lid closes tightly. During the setup, keep the
outdoor sensor close to the base station in order to establish an effective wireless transmission.
Do not place the remote sensor outside until transmission has been confirmed.
•Connect the power adaptor. You may also open the battery compartment on the rear side of
the receiver and insert the batteries by observing the correct polarity. Close the battery
compartment.
•After the power-up, all the segments on the display will briefly light up and you will hear a short
tone.
•Then, within approx. 15 secs, you may set the height above sea level and the weather icon
following the current weather condition. This setting can also be made later.
•The weather station will then start to connect to the outdoor sensor and thus ready to begin
transmitting data. This operation takes about three minutes and is displayed by a flashing
reception symbol in the OUT display area.
•After the weather station has created a connection to the outdoor sensor, it will then commence
automatic reception of the DCF77 Radio Signal for the Radio Controlled Clock. This operation
could take up to twenty-four hours and the on-going reception is displayed by the flashing radio
mast symbol in the “Clock” display area. The best time to catch the radio time signals is at night.
•If reception is successful, then the radio mast symbol will appear continuously in the display.
If this automatic setting process is unsuccessful, then use a sharply pointed instrument to press the
Reset button on the rear side of the receiving station.
If you encounter poor reception on the radio control clock, which results in the inability to have the time
set automatically, please use the manual setting procedure listed below.

TIME and ALARM CLOCK
RECEPTION OF THE RADIO SIGNAL
•The clock automatically starts the DCF77 signal search on any restart (power-up or RESET)
within approx. 5 minutes. The radio mast symbol starts to flash.
•At 1:00AM to 5:00AM the Radio Controlled clock automatically carries out a synchronization
procedure with the DCF77 signal to correct any deviations to the exact time. If this
synchronization attempt is unsuccessful (the radio mast symbol disappears from the display),
the system will automatically attempt a new synchronization at the next full hour. This
procedure is repeated automatically up to four times (latest at 5 am).
•To start manually the DCF77 signal reception, press and hold the + and – buttons together. If
no signal is received within seven minutes, then the DCF signal search stops (the radio mast
symbol disappears) and starts again at 1 am.
INFORMATION:
•A flashing radio mast symbol indicates that the DCF77 signal reception has started.
•A continuously displayed radio mast symbol indicates that the DCF77 was received
successfully.
•We recommend a minimum distance of 2.5 meters (8.2 Feet) to all sources of interference such
as televisions or computer monitors.
•Radio reception is weaker in rooms with concrete walls (e.g. in cellars) and in offices. In
extreme cases, place the system at a window.
•As there is less atmospheric interference at night, radio reception is normally possible at this
time. A single synchronization each day is sufficient to keep the time display accurate to one
second.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME: The radio controlled clock will automatically set itself in the spring (the
Sicon will appear next to the time) and then again in the fall for the winter/summertime change.
MANUAL TIME SETTING
•Press and hold down the MODE button for three seconds.
•The year display starts to flash. Now use + or – to set the correct year.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
•The month display starts to flash. Now use + or – to set the correct month.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
•The date display starts to flash. Now use + or – to set the correct date.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
•The time zone display starts to flash, Now use + or – to set the correct time zone.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
•The weekday starts to flash. Now use + or – to set your want language. There are seven
languages available for the day display: German, English, Italian, French, Dutch, Spanish or
Danish.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
•The 24Hr display starts to flash. Now use + or – to set the 12Hr or 24Hr for the time format. In
the 12Hr mode, the symbol AM (before midday) or PM (after midday) will be shown in the
display.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
•The hour display starts to flash. Now use + or – to set the correct hour.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
•The minute display starts to flash. Now use the + or – to set the correct minute.
•Press MODE to confirm your setting.
INFORMATION:
•After approx. 20 seconds without a button being pressed, the clock switches automatically from
setting mode to Normal clock mode.

WEEK DISPLAY WITH SEVEN LANGUAGES DISPLAY
SETTING THE WAKE-UP ALARMS
The weather station possesses two daily alarms. One alarm is for Monday to Friday, a second
alarm for the weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
Proceed as follows to set the alarms:
•Press MODE one time to select the A1 (Alarm 1) mode, and hold down the MODE button for
three seconds until the A1 hour is flashing.
•Now use the + or – buttons to set the alarm hour.
•Press the MODE button to set the A1 minute. Now use the + or – buttons to set the alarm
minutes.
•Press the MODE to confirm
•To set Alarm 2 (A2), proceed as described above.
•Press MODE to enter A1 mode, press – button to turn on the alarm icon.
•Press MODE to enter A2 mode, press – button to turn on the alarm icom.
•If you want cancel the alarm, enter again A1 or A2 and press – button one time to cancel the
alarm.
INFORMATION:
•After approx. 20 seconds without a button being pressed, the clock switches automatically from
Setting mode to Normal clock mode
•The alarm will sound for two minutes if you do not deactivate it by pressing any button. In this
case, the alarm will be repeated automatically after 24 hours.
•Wake-up Alarm: 2 minutes sound; increases in intensity in 4 steps.
•If you have set a time zone, the alarms will be activated based on this zone time
AUTOMATIC SNOOZE FUNCTION
•To activate the automatic snooze function: While the alarm is sounding, press the
SNOOZE/LIGHT button to activate the snooze function. When the snooze function is activated,
the Alarm icon will blink.
•The snooze cycle is approx. five minutes.

TEMPERATURE and HUMIDITY
°C/°F TEMPERATURE DISPLAY
The temperature is displayed either in °C or °F. Briefly pressing the – button allows you to switch
between the two temperature scales.
COMFORT ZONE
The comfort zone for the room condition (indoor) has 4 different levels. 3 are displayed by the "smiley";

MAXIMUM/MINIMUM TEMPERATURE/RELATIVE HUMIDITY
•Briefly press the + button to display the maximum/minimum temperature and relative humidity.
After 20 seconds, the display switches back to the normal display.
•Automatically deletes the max/min memory of temperature and humidity at daily midnight
•Reset the memory manually: press and hold the + key
TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY TREND DISPLAY
After you insert the batteries, the weather station measures the current temperature and relative
humidity. The individual trend displays show a neutral temperature and humidity course (horizontal
arrow).
The further course of the trend display is determined as follows:
•If, after an hour, the readings are more than 1°C (rel. humidity: 5%) higher than the value
measured first, then a positive course is displayed (arrow pointing upwards).
•If, after an hour, the readings are more than 1°C (rel. humidity: 5%) lower than the value
measured first, then a negative course is displayed (arrow pointing downwards).
•If the readings do not change within an hour, then the upward or downward pointing arrow
becomes a horizontal arrow. The measured values are then taken as the neutral values from
which further trends are shown.

SETTING THE TEMPERATURE ALARM
•Press the CHANNEL button to select the desired sensor channel (CH1, CH2, CH3).
•Press and hold down the – button for three seconds until, in the selected outdoor temperature
display, OF is shown and flashes. Press + or – to turn ON or OFF the temperature alarm.
Press MODE to set the temperature. From -50°C to +70°C use + or – for setting the wanted
limit and press MODE to exit the setting.
ICE ALERT
•The ice alert symbol will appear when the indoor temperature is under 4° C.
INFORMATION:
•You can set up a temperature alarm for every channel.
•If you set the maximum to a temperature, which is lower than the minimum, then you will not be
able to complete the setting process.
•The minimum must always be at least 1° C off the maximum value (-50° C and +70° C).
•When the set temperature level is reached, the alarm sounds for about 5 secs every minute
and the upper or lower limit symbol is shown.
•If the alarming channel is on the display, the temperature will flash too
•Condition for stop alert.
1. Press any button to stop the alert sound. The relevant temperature and alert symbol
continue to flash.
2. It will stop automatically once the temperature is out of the temperature alert limit.
RADIO FREQUENCY CONNECTION TO OUTDOOR SENSOR
•Press the CHANNEL button to select a channel (1, 2, 3 or "scan"). This gives you the option of
reading three outdoor sensors with one weather station.
• Press and hold down the CHANNEL button for three seconds to search for outdoor sensors.
You can break off this operation by briefly pressing the CHANNEL button .
•If the main unit has lost the signal from a sensor, the last reading will be shown for one
hour. If the sensor is not found within this time, the main unit will then start to search a
new sensor on this channel. Have you replaced the batteries in a sensor, then you
either wait at least for one hour or your press the CHANNEL button as described
above.

WEATHER
BAROMETRIC AIR PRESSURE DISPLAY
The course of the barometric air pressure within the last twelve hours can be read out from the normal
barometric air pressure display. To do this, proceed as follows:
Press the HISTORY button briefly to display the barometric air pressure value of the last 12 hours. For
example, pressing the button seven times displays the barometric air pressure value seven hours ago.
In the small box you would then see "-7"
BAROMETER SETTINGS
•You have the option of displaying the air pressure in hPa or inHg and also to adjust the local
altitude and the current weather. To enter this setting, press and hold the HISTORY button. By
pressing short HISTORY you will get from setting to setting.
•The setting sequence is: Local Altitude in meter -> change the forecast icon -> air pressure unit.
•The maximum height for setting the Barometric Air Pressure is +2000 meters and the lowest level
is -200 meters.
WEATHER FORECAST
The weather station uses the air pressure data of the last four to twelve hours to create a weather
forecast for the next 12 hours. It must be taken into account that the data within the first twelve hours
after inserting the batteries will not be correct, as the weather station has to get used to the
environmental circumstances after the restart. The forecast can be given for a radius of up to 15-20 km
(9 to 12 miles). When forecasting the weather, the station uses four different symbols: sunny, light cloud
cover, cloudy, and rain.

BATTERY LEVEL DISPLAY
The weather station display also displays the battery level to show whether the batteries of the weather
station or the outdoor sensor need to be replaced.
•Battery level display of the weather station: in the clock area of the display.

BACKLIGHT
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to activate the multicolor LED display backlight for five seconds.
Note: With the power adaptor connected, the display light is permanently ON.
