IMPORTANT: Anti-seize should be applied to the
threads of the center bolt and between the center bolt and
thrust button at the end of center bolt before every use.
Failure to regularly apply lubrication to the threads will
result in the screw seizing in the tube.

Step 1
Ensure that the race is still on
the bearing!
There is no guarantee the side bearing can be
removed without damage. Failure to use the side
bearing race can cause severe damage to the side
bearing when using this tool.
Step 2
Position the Plug
The Plug is placed over the race, with the
recessed end fitting inside the carrier-bearing
journal.
Step 3
Position the Body
Place the Body over the Plug directly onto the
bearing race. Adjust the lower Adjuster Ring
until it rests snugly on top of the bearing race.
Step 4
Position the Clamshells
These two-piece clamshells fit over the Adjuster
Rings. Pay attention to the clearance between the
bearing and the Clamshell utilize the tightest fit
without spreading the Clamshells apart where they
meet. After selecting the appropriate Clamshell size,
rotate the top Adjuster Ring to the proper height to
eliminate any up and down movement in the
Clamshell. When the Adjuster Rings are positioned
properly place the second Clamshell around the rings.
Step 5
Secure the Retaining Ring
The retaining Ring slides down over the top of
the Body and onto the selected Clamshells. Hand
tighten the bolt on the Retaining Ring to keep
the ring from sliding down.
Step 6
Drive the Center Bolt
With a 1/2” impact gun and the appropriate sock-
et, drive the Center Pin clockwise into the Body.
This action will lift the entire tool, pulling the
bearing from the journal.
