This manual will guide you how to use the product. It also provides the necessary information
related to the product, such as the information for operation and handling. You are
recommended to read the Instructions carefully and understand all contents before operating.
Please save the Manual Instructions for your future reference.

III. Product Introduction
This product is a high-resolution 30 frames-per-second (640x480, 1280x960) remote video
surveillance clock, with an external TF Card. As a multifunctional high-tech product, the device is
available with multiple functions, such as: video, sound recording, video recording, photo taking,
cyber chat, electronic alarm clock and file storage; with the high-capacity battery, it can last for
about 12 hours continuous video recording, or 25 hours of audio recording; also the device saves
the high-resolution video with 2 million pixels, sound and file automatically, The device is designed
with the multiple languages support for telling the time. The MicroSD interface supports up to 32GB
of storage. Also included is an easy to use and compact remote control. With the best
imperceptibility, this product will be as your ideal assistant to prevent theft or to gather evidence.
Product Features
•5 buttons: HR, MIN, SET, LIGHT, TALK/SNZ;
•The time & minute is displayed in the 3.5 bit LCD panel. Time-showing system of 12 hours
and 24 hours is available;
•Multiple rings of choice: Beep, cock, etc. 5 different melodies.
•The time alarm will be triggered every 10 minutes if the clock is on the snooze function. It
can alarm a maximum of 6 times.
•The choice of two “On-the-hour “ alarm functions;
•The “Beeping” alarm will be become gradually louder for a period of 1 minute;
•If adopting the melody as the ring, the clock will alarm when the melody ends.

IV. Setting up the zClock-1000
Powering up the unit for the first time
When you first open the box, some units may have a plastic insulation tab keeping the battery
from making contact with the electrodes to keep the unit off. If so, remove the plastic tabs from the
back of the unit and also the back of the remote sticking out of the battery cover. This will close the
battery circuit turning on the unit. You will hear sounds from the unit and the LCD screen will show
numbers.
Charging the unit
The zClock-1000 comes with an internal Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. This battery has
no memory effect, and although it does not require the user to fully charge the unit before usage, it
is recommended to do so.
Referring to the “Diagram 1”
1. Flip open the rotational cover (4).
2. Connect the smaller end to the mini-USB port (7) on the side of the device.
3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to USB port in a computer or if using the included
A/C wall charger, plug it in a 120 volt outlet.
A red indicator light will light up next to the IR Receiver (2) on the device any time the USB
cable is connected.
WARNING: Do not remove the Lithium-Ion battery from the unit. This will cause the unit to
reset to factory settings, making it unusable.
Setting up the Clock Time
1. On the “Alarm & Clock Function Buttons” area (1), hit the “SET” button (third button from
the left) to put the device under time-setup mode. The numbers on the LCD screen will
start blinking on and off.
2. Hit the “HR” button (first button on the left) to change the hour, and the “MIN” button
(second button from the left) to change the minute.
3. Wait 5 seconds for the numbers to stop blinking and beep once. The time is now set.
Setting up the Alarm Time
1. Hit the “SET” button two times (third button from the left). This will put the device under
Alarm setup mode. The alarm-setup symbol ( ) will show up in between the numbers and
the numbers on the LCD screen will blink on and off.
2. Hit the “HR” button (first button on the left) to change the hour, and the “MIN” button (second
button from the left) to change the minute.
3. Wait 5 seconds for the numbers to stop blinking and beep once, the alarm time is now set.
Activating or Deactivating the Alarm
1. Hit the “SET” button three times (third button from the left). This will put the device under
“rings setup mode”. The three symbols ( , , ) on the LCD screen will blink on and off.
2. Hit the “MIN” button (second button on the left) to toggle the alarm function on and off. The
bell symbol ( ) will show when the alarm is active.

Hourly Alarm Setup
1. Hit the “SET” button three times (third button from the left). This will put the device under
“rings setup mode”. The three symbols ( , , ) on the LCD screen will blink on and off.
2. Hit the “HR” button (first button on the left) repeatedly to cycle in between hourly-alarm
modes;
To hourly alarm only in between 7am to 9pm, set to the clock symbol ( )
To hourly alarm all 24 hours, set to the sound symbol ( )
Time standard modes (12/24)
To change the time standard in between 12 hour or 24 hour modes, simply hit the “HR” button
(first on the left)
Changing the Alarm Ringtones
The zClock-1000 has 5 different alarm tones. To change it, you can simply cycle through the
different tones by hitting the “MIN” button (second from the right) repeatedly.
The Snooze Function
The zClock-1000 will snooze every 10 minutes, up to 6 times; snoozingup to a period of 1 hour.
Snoozing: When the alarm sounds off, by hitting the “Time-telling / Snooze” button (3), the
device will speak out the time, and it will temporarily stop alarming for 10 minutes.
Ending the alarm: Hit one of the “Alarm & Clock Function Buttons”(1) below the LCD screen to
fully stop the alarming. The device will no longer snooze.

V. Operation Instructions
Capturing Media
Before setting up the device to capture any media, please first read “Turning on the unit for the first time”.
1. Ensure you have the MicroSD memory card inserted in the unit all the way in. The Rotational Cover
(4) should be able to close all the way.
2. Ensure the USB cable is not connected to the device.
3. Turn the internal “On-Off” switch to the “On” position (8B).
4. Point the remote towards the IR Receiver(7) by at least a foot away, and hit the power button ( ) on
the remote (10). Give it a few seconds, a solid blue light will come on next to the IR Receiver (2). This
means the device is on “stand-by” mode.
From the “stand-by” mode (solid blue light);
Recording video and sound: Press the Video button ( ).The blue light will slowly blink 3 times,
then go off. Video is now being recorded. Press the Video button again to stop recording and set the
device back to stand-by mode (solid blue light).
Recording sound only: Press the Microphone button ( ) to record sound only. The blue light will
slowly blink 3 times, then go off. Sound is now being recorded. Press the Sound button again to stop
recording and set the device back to stand-by mode (solid blue light).
Taking pictures: Press the Photo button ( ) to take a picture. The blue light will go off, and then on
again a few seconds later back into stand-by mode (solid blue light).
Recording on Motion Detection: Press the Motion-Detection button ( ) to place the device on
motion detection stand-by. The blue light will keep flashing quickly until motion is detected. When the
first motion in front of the device is detected, the blue light will slowly blink 3 times, than go off. Video
is now being recorded. Video records for a minimum of 3 minutes following initial motion. After 3
minutes of initial motion, video will stop being recorded, and the device will go back to motion
detection stand-by (flashing blue light). Press the Motion-Detection again to remove it from motion
detection stand-by mode. The device will go back into stand-by (solid blue light).
Recording While Charging
The zClock-1000 can also record video to the memory card while connected to the charger. This
function is useful for long periods of recording where the recording time can outlast the battery charge.
Simply use the included A/C wall charger and make sure the memory card has plenty of space.

Webcam Function
Installing the Webcam
1. Ensure the “On-Off” switch on the side is to the “On” position (8B).
2. Turn on the device by pressing the power button on the remote ( ) . A blue light will come one next
to the IR receiver (2).
3. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable (14) to the mini USB-Port (7) on side of the device, then
connect the other end of the USB cable (15) to your computer’s USB port.
4. Wait a few seconds for your computer to detect the device. If an error message pops up reporting
failure to find or install drivers, please ignore it.
5. Insert the included mini CD in your computer. Inside you will find a PDF copy of this manual and a file
called “STK02N 2.0(Web camera installation tool).exe”.
6. Run the STK02N 2.0 file to install the Webcam drivers. If asked to “reinstall using recommended
settings”, please do so.
Note: If you cannot access the files on the included CD, the zClock-1000 driver file can also be
downloaded from:
http://support.zetronix.com/drivers/zClock1000-driver.exe
After installing the webcam, it should now be available from any video capture software or other chat
programs like Skype™ or Trillian™.
Webcam Video
Next time you want to reconnect the webcam, follow steps 1 to 3 on the previous section “Installing the
Webcam”. An image download utility program may pop up next time.
Capturing & Recording Webcam Video
The zClock-1000 can also record video files straight into your computer, without using the memory card
and charging while recording, so battery never runs out.
To capture video or take snapshots use any standard video capturing program. You can download a free
version of AMCap at the following URL:
http://amcap.en.softonic.com/download.
Remote Video Surveillance
You can watch live video remotely using the zClock-1000. To do this, simply set it up as awebcam (steps
steps 1 to 3), and use a chat video program.

Accessing the recorded media
1. Ensure the “On-Off” switch on the side is to the “On” position (8B).
2. Ensure the MicroSD memory card is in the MicroSD port (4) of the device.
3. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable (14) to the mini USB-Port (7) on side of the device, and
then connect the other end of the USB cable (15) to your computer’s USB port.
4. Turn on the device by pressing the power button on the remote ( ). A blue light will come one next
to the IR receiver (2).
5. Wait a few seconds for your computer to detect the device. The zClock-1000 is now working as a
USB drive.
Under Windows systems: an “AutoPlay” menu may pop up with the option to “Import pictures and
videos” or “Open folder to view files”. You will also find it “My Computer” as a new drive called
“Removable Disk (E:)”. Drive letters may vary (D, E, F, G).
Under Mac systems: A new drive icon will show up on your desktop with the name “Undefined”. You
can also find it in “Finder” menu under “Storage Devices” as MINIDISK.
Video Time-Stamp
The zClock-1000 has the option to write the time on the recorded video.
Note: The time on the clock does not reflect the video time-stamp.
Updating the time-stamp time:
1. Download the TimeUpdate utility from the following URL:
http://support.zetronix.com/drivers/TimeUpdate.exe
The utility may or may not be found on the included mini CD.
2. Ensure the MicroSD memory card is inerted in the MicroSD port (4) of the device.
3. Connect the zClock-1000 to your computer as a storage device; as described in the
previous section “Accessing the recorded media”.
4. Run the downloaded “TimeUpdate.exe” utility. When the program opens, it may take a
few seconds to detect the zClock-1000.
5. Ensure the drive letter shown in the “Devices” field is the same as the letter show in “My
Computer”. Usually D, E, F or G.
6. Hit the update button, and wait a few seconds for the program to write the files to the
device.
The utility program will pull the date and time currently set on your computer.
Next recorded video will have the updated time stamp.
Removing the time-stamp:
1. Follow all the steps described in the previous section “Updating the time-stamp time”.
2. Browse into the main folder of the device, and look for a file called “time.txt”.
3. Open the “time.txt” file using a text editor such as Notepad or TextEdit.
4. In the file you will see a code that looks something like: “2011-03-29 16:59:00”
5. Add space and the letter “N” at the end so it looks like: “2011-03-29 16:59:00 N”
The time-stamp will be removed on the next recorded video.

Quick Reference
Solid blue light: Stand-by mode;ready to record media by action from the remote. Press the microphone or
video record button to record sound or video. Press the video motion detection button to place it on motion
detection stand-by.
Flashing blue light: Motion detection stand-by; while on this mode, it will start recording as soon as motion
is detected in front of the device.
Slow blinking blue light: The blue light will blink 3 times then go off anytime it starts recording video or
sound.
No lights: Unit is off, or it is currently recording video.
Solid red light: The unit is connect to power or a computer.
Flashing numbers: The unit is on time-setup mode.
Flashing Symbols ( , , ): The unit is on alarm-activation and hourly-alarm setup mode.
Alarm-setup Symbol is visible ( ): The unit is on alarm-time setup mode.
VI. Precautions
Application conditions: Please abide by the related national laws and regulations strictly; it is
prohibited to use the product for illegal purpose, otherwise you must be responsible for the
consequences.
Software upgrade: In order to keep the device available and for better performance, the
manufacturer shall improve the product software continuously. The device is designed to be
updated by the user. You can find the latest software and driver updates at support.zetronix.com
Working temperature: Please use the device only at around room temperatures; never use the
device at the temperature that human body feels unconformable.
Working humidity: Please use the device only in the environmental humidity suitable for living;
keep the device far away from the humid or wet environment. This device is not water-proof.
Video luminance: Please use the device when the sufficient luminance is available; do not aim
the camera lens to the sun or other intensive light source; otherwise it may damage the optical
sensors;
Cleanliness requirement: Please do not use the device in a dusty environment; otherwise it may
cause the lens or other parts to accumulate dust which will effect video quality. A lens wiping paper
or glass cloth can be used to clean.
Other precautions: This device is a sensitive electronic product; please avoid intensive impact,
shock, intense magnetic fields or high electro-static environments.
Recommended Usage: Covert operations; thief catching; new babysitter; webcam; webcam
surveillance; pets & kids; suspicious activity.

Note:
The A/C adapter may experience an increase in temperature on the surface during operation. This is an expected
occurrence. When not in use, please remove the adapter from the power socket as a safety precaution.

VIII. Troubleshooting
Trouble Procedure
Unit not turning on Remove the plastic insulators from battery cover
Fully charge the battery for about 4 hours
Reset the unit by flipping the side switch off and on.
Unit not charging Replace the battery or USB cable adapter
Blue light flashes rapidly
Format the MicroSD memory card to remove any
corrupted files; Insert the MicroSD memory card is in
unit. MicroSD memory card maybe full; Ensure unit is
charged.
Remote controller is hard to use Remove the plastic insulator from the battery cover on
the back; Hold it at least one foot away from the
device; Wait a few seconds in between actions.
Computer does not detect it
Try a different USB port, a different computer or
replace the USB cable.
Clock’s screen flashes or character is displayed
incompletely Maybe low on battery, try recharging the unit.
Sound is recorded with noise or video is not clear Maybe low on battery, try r
echarging the unit. Format
the MicroSD memory card to remove any corrupted
files;
Screen looks hazy or scratched.
The screen has a fine protective plastic layer. Remove
it by ripping a holewith your nail, than pull the plastic
around towards the center of the screen.
Video stops recording Maybe low on battery, try r
echarging the unit.
Memory maybe full or corrupted. Delete files or
format memory.

X. Limited Warranty from Zetronix Corp.,
Zetronix Corporation (“Zetronix”) warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship
as follows:
PRODUCT: Zetronix will repair this product with new or refurbished parts, free of charge, for a
period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase in the event of a defect in materials or
workmanship. REPAIRS: Zetronix will repair or replace defective parts used in the repair or
replacement of this product with new or refurbished parts, free of charge, for a period equal to the
remainder of the original limited warranty period on the original product, or for 60 days after the
date of the repair or replacement, whichever is longer. This warranty is extended only to the original
purchaser. Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice, which is evidence that
the unit is within the warranty period, must be presented to obtain warranty service. To obtain
warranty service, you must take this product, or deliver the product freight prepaid, in either its
original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection, to Zetronix Corporation.
See below for additional information. This warranty only covers failures due to defects in materials
and workmanship, which occur during normal use. The warranty does not cover damages which
occurred in shipment, cosmetic damage, damage that is attributable to acts of God, failures which
are caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, or failures which result from accident,
misuse, abuse, neglect, mishandling, faulty installation, misapplication, improper installation,
operation or maintenance, alteration, modification, introduction of sand, humidity or liquids, line
power surge, improper voltage supply, lightning damage, or subjecting the product to
operating/environmental conditions in excess of the maximum values or below the minimum values
set forth in the applicable specifications, or products serviced by anyone other than Zetronix. This
warranty is invalid if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from the
product. This warranty does not cover products sold AS IS or WITH ALL FAULTS. This warranty
excludes consumable parts such as batteries and power supplies.
THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES EXCEPT AS LISTED ABOVE. REPAIR OR
