InstallingHardDisks
Forsupportedharddisktypes,consultourauthorizedsalesortechnical
supportstaff.Thefollowingexamplesillustratehowtoinstallharddisks
onaworkbench.Theinstallationprocessmayvaryaccordingto
conditions.
Theharddriveinterfaceislocatedinsidethedevice.Youneedtoremove
thefrontpaneltoinstalltheharddisk.Theharddisksarehot‐swappable
andsupportmixedinsertion.Thediskscanbepoweredoninorderto
minimizetheimpulsecurrentproducedduringthepower‐onprocess.
WARNING!
zTheharddiskcanbehot‐pluggedonlywhennodataisread
orwritten.Theharddiskindicatorisnotblinkingwhennodatais
processed.
zPleasewearanti‐staticglovesbeforeinstallingaharddisk.
zInsertharddisksintotheslotsofarunningdeviceatanintervalo
f
atleastsixseconds
InstallaharddiskintotheNVR500Seriesasfollows:
1. Fixtheharddisktowithscrewstothehandlebaronthecorrect
side.
2. Loosenthescrewsthatsecurethechassiscoverwithacross
screwdriver.

3. Aligntheharddiskwiththeslotandpushintheharddiskgently
andsteadily.
4. Pushtheharddiskinpositionwithyourthumbuntilthebuckles
click.Repeattheabovestepstoinstallalltheharddisks.
5. Coverthefrontpanelandfixthescrewstosecurethefrontpanel.

InstallingtheEquipment
Theequipmentprovidesfront,sideandbackventilationchannels.Leave
roomofatleast30cmtothefrontandbackand10cmtotheleftand
rightsidesoftheequipmentforventilation.
MountingtotheWorkbench
1. Getthestickersfromthefootpadsdeliveredwiththeequipment,
andattachthepadstothebottomoftheequipmentwhere
appropriate.
2. Placetheequipmentonacleanworkbench.Nowtheinstallation
processiscomplete.
MountingintoaCabinet
WARNING!
Ensurethatthecabinetisequippedwithatrayorsliderailbefore
installingtheequipmentinacabinet.Theequipmentmustbesupported
onatrayorsliderailinsteadofasuspensionloop.
1. Asshowninthefollowingfigure,placethesuspensionloopwitha
screwholeclosetothechassis.Alignthesuspensionloopwiththe
screwhole,andusetwoM4*8screwstofastenthesuspension
looptothechassis.

2. Performthesameproceduretomountthesuspensionlooponthe
othersideofthechassis.

3. Placetheequipmentonthecabinetsupport,andsliditintothe
cabinet.Fixthesuspensionlooptothefloatingnuttothefront
mountingbarofthecabinetwithscrewsledthroughtheslotted

Installapowermoduleasfollows:
