GENERAL WARNING: Scooter riding can be a hazardous activity.
Scooters can, andareintendedto move and it is thereforepossibleto get
intodangeroussituationsand/orlosecontroland/orfall.Ifsuchthings
occur you can be seriously injured or die. LIKE ANY OTHER MOVING
PRODUCT, USING A SCOOTER CAN BE A DANGEROUS ACTIVITY AND MAY
RESULTININJURYORDEATHEVENWHENUSEDWITHPROPERSAFETY
PRECAUTIONS. USE ATYOUROWN RISKAND USECOMMONSENSE.
•
Alwayswearsafety equipment,suchashelmet,kneepadsandelbow
pads. Always wear a helmet when riding your scooter and keep the
chinstrap securely buckled.
•
Always wear shoes.
•
Rideon smooth, paved surfaces away from motor vehicles.
•
Avoidsharpbumps,drainagegrates,andsuddensurfacechanges.Scooter
may suddenly stop.
•
Avoidstreets andsurfaceswithwater,sand,gravel,dirt,leaves,andother
debris. Wet weather impairs traction, braking, and visibility.
•
Do not ride at night.
•
Brakewillgethotfromcontinuoususe.Donottouchafterbraking.
•
Avoid excessive speed associated with downhill rides.
•
Adultsmustassistchildrenintheinitialassemblyand/oradjustment
procedures to fold/unfold scooter, and adjust handlebar and steering
to height.
•
Obey all local traffic and scootering laws and regulations.
•
Watch out for pedestrians.
•
Do not exceed 220 lb (100 kg) total weight on the A5 Lux scooter.
•
Aparent’sdecisiontoallowhisorherchildtoridethisproductshouldbe
based on the child’s maturity, skill and ability to follow rules.
•
Donotallowchildrenunderageeight(8)tousethescooter.Allchildren
and preteensshould ride withadult supervision at alltimes.
•
Riderweightdoesnotnecessarilymeanachild’ssizeisappropriatetofit
or maintain control of the scooter.
ACCEPTABLE RIDING PRACTICES AND CONDITIONS
Directparentalsupervisionisrequired.Scooters aremeanttobeusedonly
in controlled environments free of potential traffic hazards and not on public
streets. Donotallowyour childtoridea scooterinanyareaswherevehicle
trafficispresent.Childmustmaintaina holdonthehandlebarsatalltimes.
Neverallowmorethanonechildat a timetorideascooter.Neverusenear
steps, sloped driveways, hills, roadways, alleys or swimming pool areas.
Keepfingersandotherbodypartsawayfromtheproductwhenfoldingor
unfolding.Adultsmustnotallowchildrentoassistinassemblingand/or
folding or unfolding thescooter.
Donotrideascooterinwetweather.Scooters areintendedfor useonsolid,
flat,cleanand drysurfaces,suchas pavementorlevelgroundwithoutloose
debris,suchas rocksorgravel.Wet, slickorunevenand roughsurfaces may
impairtractionandcontributetopossibleaccidents.Donotrideascooterin
mud, ice, puddles or water. Avoid excessive speeds that can beassociated
withdownhillrides.Neverriskdamagingsurfaces,suchascarpetorflooring,
byuseofascooterindoors.Donotrideatnightorwhenvisibilityis impaired.
PROPER RIDING ATTIRE
Alwaysensurechildiswearingproperprotectiveequipment,suchasan
approvedsafety helmet.Ahelmetmaybelegallyrequiredbylocallaw
orregulation in your area. A childshouldalways wear shoes and keep
shoelacestiedandoutofthewayof thewheels.Neverridebarefootedorin
sandals. Knee pads and elbow pads arerecommended.
WARNING:
ALWAYS INSPECT SCOOTER PRIOR TO RIDING. Properly
inspectingandmaintainingyourscootercanreducetheriskofinjury.Always
inspectyourscooterbeforeridingandregularlymaintainit.Checkandsecure
allfastenersbeforeevery ride.Replacewornorbroken parts immediately.
WARNING:
CHECK LOCAL LAWS REGARDING SCOOTER USE. Check
local laws and regulations to see where and how you may use your ZIMX
scooterlegally.Inmany states and localareasscooter ridersare required
BY LAW to wear a helmet. Check local laws and regulations regarding laws
governing helmet use and scooter operation in your area.

SAFETY WARNINGS

BEFORE YOUBEGIN

Removecontentsfrombox.Removetheseparatorsthatprotectthecomponentsfromdamageduringshipping.
Inspectthecontentsoftheboxforscratches inthepaint,dentsthat mayhaveoccurredduringshipping.Because
yourscooterwasassembledandpackedatthefactory,thereshouldnotbeanyproblems,eveniftheboxhasafew
scars or dents.
WARNING:
DO NOT USE
NON-ZIMX PRODUCTS WITH
YOUR SCOOTER.
ZIMX scooters have been built to
certain ZIMX design specifications.
The original equipment supplied
atthetimeofsalewasselected
onthebasisofitscompatibility
withtheframe,forkandallother
parts. Certain aftermarket products
maynotbecompatibleandwillvoid
the warranty.

Unfolding the Scooter for First Time Use
WARNING:
Keep fingers
clearofthepivotingmechanism
when folding or unfolding the
scooter. Make sure others are
standing clear.

To release the folding mechanism,
placethescooterontheground,
put onefootonthedeckplateand
pushthejointreleaselever back.
Raise T-barupuntilitis securely
lockedin
the upright position.
Note: The joint release lever is
spring-loaded and will automatically
lock in the upright position when
fully upright.
WARNING:
Failure to
properly engage the spring-loaded
buttons may cause the handlebars to
dislodgewhileridingandmaycause
youtolosecontrolandfall.When
correctly engaged the handlebars
will not rotate nor will they move
sideways. Note that when properly
engaged,thespring-loadedbuttons
areclearlyvisibleintheholes on
the T-bar.

Insertandsecuretheleft and
right handlebars by pressing the
spring-loaded buttons and inserting
them into theT-bar.

Makecertain
BOTH
handlebars
areproperlylockedontotheT-bar.
Adjusting the Handlebar Height
WARNING:
Failure to
properly secure the quick-release
lever may cause the T-bar to
telescopeupordownwhileriding
andmaycauseyoutolosecontrol
and fall.
1 To adjust the height of the
handlebars, open the quick-release
lever and slide the T-bar to the
desiredpositionandresecurethe
quick-release lever to lock into
place. When the T-bar is raised to
themaximumheight,depressthe
push button located directly below
the quick-release lever to unlock
the T-bar.
Note: The tension of the quick-
release lever can be adjusted by
manually tightening or loosening the
Allen bolt. Be careful not to over-
tighten. You should always be able
to open and close the quick-release
lever by hand and the T-bar should
slide freely when the quick-release
is open.

clampmaycausetheridertolose
control and fall. If you are having
difficulty understanding these
instructions, please contact ZIMX

Usinga 5mm Allenwrench, checkthatthe collarclampboltistightened securely.Thisitem istightened andquality
inspectedatthefactory,butthereisaslightchance thatthe effects ofshippingorhandlingmayhavecausedthebolt
to loosen.

USAGE
Be Careful!
YouwillseepeopleonTVandmaybe evenpeopleyouknowdoing
tricks andstunts. These are people who have been practicing on
scooters for a very long time. Don’ttrysomethinguntil youare
ready. Avoid steep inclines and don’tridetoo fast —you canlose
controlandfall. Skateboardparksarenotdesignedforscooters.
Neverrideintrafficoronthestreetandwatchyoursurroundings
for pedestrians, bikers, boarders and skaters.
Maintain a hold on the handlebars at all times.
How to Ride
Place one foot on the baseboard, push forward with the other foot. Steer with both hands on the handlebars.
Forenhancedcornering,leanslightlyintothedirectionoftheturn.Forcontrolledstops,applythebrakebysteppingontherearbrake.ZIMXrecommendsthat
you practice applying the brake at various speeds and in an open area free from obstructions before riding your scooter around others.
Note: Light-Up Wheels will activate when wheels are in motion
Loose Parts
Checkandsecureallfastenersbeforeeveryride.Makesure
thecollarclamp,quick-releaselever,andhandlebarspring
buttons are lockedproperly inplace beforeriding.

Safety Gear
Always wear proper protective equipment, such as an
approvedsafety helmet,elbowpadsandkneepads.Always
wearshoes(lace-upwith rubbersoles)and keepshoelaces
tiedandoutofthewayofthewheels.Neverridebarefooted
or in sandals.

Cleaning Your Scooter
Wipewitha dampclothtoremovedirt anddust.Donotuseindustrialcleanersorsolventsastheymaydamagethe
surfaces.Donotusealcohol,alcohol-basedorammonia-basedcleanersastheymaydamageordissolvetheplastic
components or soften the decals or decal adhesive.
Wheels and Bearings
Undernormalcircumstancesandconditions,ZIMXwheelsandwheelbearingsaremaintenancefree.Nonetheless,it
istheresponsibilityoftheownerorguardiantoperiodicallyinspectthewheelsforwearandtear,theaxleforproper
tightness,andbearingsforside-to-sideplay,andlooseparts. Whenawheelorwheelbearingdevelops play,thisis an
indicationofexcesswearandreplacementisnecessary.ReplaceimmediatelywithonlygenuineZIMXwheels.Worn
wheels/bearings are considered normal wear-and-tear and are not covered by the ZIMX Warranty. Wheels other than
genuineZIMXwheelsmaynotbecompatiblewithyourZIMXscooter.TheuseofanythingotherthangenuineZIMX
replacement parts may affect your safety and will void your warranty.
WARNING:
Keep

WARNING:
Wheelies and
other stunt-type riding reduces your
ability to maneuver and control
yourscooter.Takethenecessary
precautions, such as wearing
appropriate protective gear and

The manufacturer warranties this product to be free of manufacturing
defects for a period of 6 months from date of purchase. This Limited
Warrantydoesnotcovernormalwearandtear,oranydamage,failureorloss
caused by improper assembly, maintenance, or storage.
ThisLimitedWarranty willbevoidiftheproductisever:

used in a manner other than forrecreation;

modified in any way;

rented.
Themanufacturerisnotliableforincidentalorconsequentiallossordamage
due directly or indirectly to the use of this product.
ZIMX does not offer an extended warranty. If you have purchased
anextended warranty,itmustbe honoredbythestoreatwhichit
was purchased.
