INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2. Take your fruit or vegetable, press it down firmly on the
prong. You may need to chop off the end of your fruit
or veg if it is not flat enough.
3. Slide the clamp down the support so the spike
secures your fruit or veg firmly in place.
4. Hold the base with one hand to secure, squeeze the
lever together with your other hand. Move the peeler
arm to the top of your fruit or veg.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury and damage to the appliance, do not touch
or put utensils near the peeler blade during use.
1. Place the Zipeela on a clean, flat surface near a socket. Add a bowl or plate
underneath the blade to catch your peel.

9
5. Press the On/Off button to start peeling. The prong
will rotate and the peeler arm will move downwards.
Once the peeler arm reaches the bottom it will hit
the on/off button and automatically stop.
When you lift the peeler arm, the Zipeela will
start again automatically. To turn off, simply
raise the peeler arm and quickly press the On/Off
button underneath, before moving it back to the
top.
Alternatively switch the Zipeela off at the
socket before moving the peeler arm.
6. Lift up the clamp and remove your peeled fruit or
vegetable from the prong.

10
CHANGING THE PEELER BLADES
WARNING: Always make sure you switch off and unplug the Zipeela at the socket,
or remove the batteries before changing the peeler blade. The blades are very sharp;
handle with care. Hold by the red base, well away from the cutting edge when handling
and cleaning.
1. Make sure the Zipeela is switched off and unplugged
at the socket. Turn the peeler upside down and open
the blade storage compartment in the base. Take out
one of the spare peeler blades.

pinching the blade release and sliding it out.

RECIPE SUGGESTIONS AND HINTS AND TIPS
The Zipeela works better on some fruit and veg when you use the adapter, and on others
when you use it with batteries. Here we have listed our recipe suggestions for your peel,
fruit and vegetables, and tips on the best way to use your Zipeela.
Always remove the power adapter before using batteries and vice versa.

Recipe suggestions Hints and tips
Courgette Mains Courgetti - Once the
courgette is peeled, repeat
the peeling process until
seeds are reached. Lightly
sauté with olive oil or
serve with your favourite
pasta sauce.
When spiralising to make
courgetti, the courgette will
get thinner and may break
as you continue to ‘peel’ it.
Sweet potato Battery Baked Shoestring Sweet
Potato Fries – Peel the
sweet potato and
continue to repeat. Chop
and toss the sweet potato
with some olive oil, salt,
and pepper and bake on
200˚C until crispy.
When peeling sweet
potatoes, ensure they have
been scrubbed, washed, and
dried to remove any dirt. Dirt
will prevent the peeler from
working properly.
Grapefruit,
Orange, Lemon
Battery Candied Citrus Peel -
Boil peels until tender
and drain. Then add to
saucepan with some water
and sugar. Simmer until
peels are translucent and
serve with a light coating
of sugar.
Wash and dry well before
peeling. Firmer fruits will
work better than softer fruit.
Larger grapefruits may not
fit on the peeler.
Apple Mains Apple sauce - Peel your
apples. Cut into chunks
and place in pot with
sweetener, lemon juice,
cinnamon, and a dash of
salt. Simmer for 20-30
minutes. Remove and
mash until you reach
desired consistency.
Harder apples will work
better than softer apples.
Use the paring tool to get
rid of any large blemishes
before peeling.
Cucumber Mains Cucumber Salad - Peel
cucumber, then
quarter and slice. Combine
with fresh dill, tomatoes,
lemon juice, olive oil, and
freshly ground pepper.
Larger cucumbers will need
to be cut in half in order to
fit on the peeler.

Recipe suggestions Hints and tips
Peach Battery Peach Bellini - Peel peaches
and then dice. Puree
in blender with water,
crushed ice, lemon juice,
and sugar. Serve with
champagne, sparkling
wine, or soda.
If the peach is not peeling
well, wash and dry your
peach before trying again.
The peach may be over-ripe,
the peeler works better on
firm fruit and veg.
Potato Battery Greek Yogurt
Scalloped Potatoes -
Peel potatoes and then
slice into 5mm thick slices.
Combine with milk, garlic,
flour, salt, and pepper
and whisk. Simmer the
mixture with the potatoes
until tender and transfer
to baking dish. Combine
some Greek yogurt and
milk and pour over
potatoes. Top with cheese
and bake under a grill for
a few minutes.
Potatoes should be washed
and dried prior to peeling
for best results. Also,
potatoes that are more
uniform in shape will peel
better. Use the paring tool
to get rid of any large
blemishes before peeling.
Kiwi Battery Kiwi Smoothie - Peel kiwi
and blend with bananas,
strawberries, yoghurt,
pineapple juice and ice.
If the kiwi won’t peel, try
to wash and dry your kiwi.
Also, check to make sure
your blade is clean and free
of any other food. Over-ripe
fruit may be too soft to use
with the Zipeela. Firmer
fruits will peel better.
Pear Mains Poached Pear - Peel a
pear, then halve and core.
Combine lemon juice,
white wine, water, ginger,
lemon, and cinnamon in
a saucepan, and reduce.
Cook the pear in the sauce
until tender. Remove and
serve with ice cream.
The more uniform the shape
of the pear, the better it
will peel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: Why is the blade skipping, jamming or becoming clogged.
Answer: Check the blade is not clogged up with fruit or vegetable bits. Wash it in warm
soapy water if it is blocked with peel. It may be blunt. Replace it with one of
the replacement blades.
Question: I am using the mains power adaptor and the Zipeela will not work.
Answer: Check that the batteries have been removed from the base of the Zipeela.
Some fruit or veg works better with batteries, see p12-14.
Question: The Zipeela is not peeling my fruit or veg evenly.
Answer: The Zippela will work more consistently on smooth shaped fruit or veg.
Use the paring tool in the base of the appliance to remove any unpeeled areas,
or move the peeler arm up and peel the surface again.
Question: The top and bottom of my fruit or veg is not peeled.
Answer: The blade will not reach the very top or bottom of your fruit and veg.
These can be trimmed with a knife.

Recipe suggestions Hints and tips
Mango Mains Mango Salsa - Peel mango
and dice. Combine with
diced tomatoes, red
onion, fresh coriander,
lime juice, apple cider
vinegar, garlic, salt and
pepper. Best if prepared
at least 1 hour before
serving.
Uniformly shaped mangos
are easier to peel.
Onion Mains Caramelized onions -
Remove the brown outer
skin and peel onion. Melt
butter in a pan and add
onions over medium low
heat for 10 minutes until
brown and
caramelized, stirring
occasionally. Use as a
topping for a sweet
potato hash, burgers,
salads, and more.
Remove the brown outer
skin of onion before peeling.
The peeler may stick as it
peels away layers of the
onion.

15
Question: Why is my Zipeela getting clogged?
Answer: Don’t use over-ripe fruit or vegetables.
For the best results, produce should be
firm and not soft.
Question: Why is the blade slipping?
Answer: If the blade skips, carefully remove the blade
holder and rinse. You may use the paring
tool to remove any residual peel from
the blade.
Question: Why is the peeler getting stuck
or the blade falling off?
Answer: Don’t push the blade into the top of the fruit
or vegetable. Position the blade so that it
just makes contact with the peel – let the
peeler do the work.
