Warnings
• As part of a connuous improvement process our products may be modied without prior noce.
• Exclusive use: ltraon of swimming pool water (must not be used for any other purpose).
• The appliance must be installed by a qualied technician in compliance with the manufacturer’s
instrucons and with applicable local standards. The installer is responsible for installaon of the
equipment and for compliance with naonal installaon regulaons. Under no circumstances
shall the manufacturer be held liable in the event of failure to comply with applicable naonal
installaon regulaons.
• Incorrect installaon can result in damaged equipment or serious physical injury (or even death).
• It is important that this equipment is operated by competent and capable (both physically and
mentally) people who have previously received the instrucons for use (by reading this manual).
Any person not meeng these criteria should not go near the equipment, due to the risk of electric
shock or other risk resulng in equipment damage or serious injury, possibly death.
• If the appliance suers a malfuncon: do not try to repair the appliance yourself, contact your
installer.
• Before working on the equipment, make sure to switch o the water supply.
• Removing or bypassing one of the safety devices automacally voids the guarantee, as does ng
replacement parts not sold by Zodiac®.
• Keep the equipment out of the reach of children.
• This lter is compable with all types of water treatment used in a swimming pool. Refer to the
Zodiac® warranty condions for details of the permied water balance values.
• The lter is not a water disinfecon system. Use a water treatment system complementary to
ltraon.
• Use only suitable lter medium (special swimming pool ltraon glass or sand).
• Do not operate the lter without water.
• Switch o and disconnect the ltraon pump at the mains then close the isolaon valve before
working on the lter or the mulway valve.
• It is strictly prohibited to handle the mulway valve when water is owing in it.

1. Informaon before installaon
1.1 General delivery condions
All equipment, even carriage and packaging paid, is shipped at the recipient's risk. In the event that items have being
damaged during transportaon the recipient should write appropriate comments on the delier note proided  the
carrier and conrm in wring to the carrier  registered leer.

2. Installaon
2.1 Selecng the locaon
• he lter must e installed:

-efore a heang andor water treatment sstem.

-in an area suect to ooding splashing rain or eposed to sunshine.

-near a heat source or ammale gas.
-in an euipment room where chemicals are stored since the emanaons could damage the lter.
• Eas access is reuired for maintenance wor coer hdraulic connecon ales draining.
• he hdraulic circuit efore the lter must e as short as possile and with the fewest ostacles ends other euipment
to avoid head loss.
• If possile plan a slight slope on the pipes at sucon to preent air pocets from uilding up.
2.2 Installing and assembling the lter

• ou are strongl recommended to t a non-return ale if the lter is installed aoe the water leel.
• Installaon of ales upstream and downstream from the lter is mandator if it is installed elow the water leel.

side of the mulwa ale. I the laer case switch the screw  on the side of the ale and the
pressure gauge. se eon to seal.
• nscrew the ghtening rings if ed on the lter.
• it the ghtening rings one on the ent pipe and the other on
the straight pipe.
• crew the straight pipe on the  locaon and the ent pipe
M locaon on the mulwa ale. se eon to seal.
• it the -rings in the grooes  planned in the lter connecons.
• osion the mulwa ale and its pipes on the lter connecons
and screw the ghtening rings  hand.

entering it.

• arefull pour in the coarse grain lter medium up to the reuired leel
tae care not to damage the manifold and its strainers.
• eel the lter medium as it is poured in.
• hen pour in the ne grain lter medium up to the reuired leel.
• ae the protecon o the diuser.
• lean of an remaining lter medium around the opening and the olts if
necessar tae the protecon o the olts.
• osion the coer and its seal on the opening.
• it the washers and nuts on the olts. ighten the  nuts diagonall to
otain a hermec seal.
• Fit the caps on the nuts.

3. Use
3.1 Checks before starng up
• hec that the hdraulic connecons are correctl ghtened.
• hec that the lter is stale and leel.
• he hdraulic circuit must e led and not contain an foreign odies.
• he lter coer must e properl closed.
• Check that the valves are open.
3.2 Start the appliance
• Never change the valve posion during operaon.
• Never dismantle the valve when the lter is pressurised.
• pen the lter isolaon ales and the drain ale to the eacuaon.
• pen the lter coer air leed screw.
• et the mulwa ale to posion  washing.
• Start the pump.
• hen the lter leel is at maimum water comes out of the air leed screw close the coer air leed screw.
• hec that there are no leas on the hdraulic circuit.
• hen starng for the rst me wash the lter medium unl the water is clear in the transparent window on the side
of the mulwa ale.
• top the water circulaon.
• et the ale to posion  rinsing and switch on the water circulaon unl the water is clear.
• top the ltraon pump.
• et the mulwa ale to posion  ltraon and start a normal ltraon ccle.
• ecord the inial lter pressure shown on the pressure gauge to sere as reference alue.
• Mae sure that the pressure indicated lies within the operang range see ..
o consume less water stop the washing and rinsing procedure as soon as the water is no longer cloud in the
transparent window on the side of the mulwa ale.
2.3 Hydraulic connecons

going through the lter.

so that water is only sucked

holes to prevent air from

through the lter and sent directl to
the pool.
3.3 Mulway valve posions
osion : closed
ater no longer circulates in the mulwa ale or the lter.
Do not run the ltraon pump when the valve is in this posion!
4. Maintenance
General maintenance of the appliance is recommended when the pool is wintered and before restarng, to
check that it operates correctly and maintains its performance, as well as to prevent certain types of failure.
These operaons are carried out at the user's expense, by a qualied technician.
4.1 Maintenance instrucons
• Mae sure that the lter contains no foreign odies.
• Clean the outside of the appliance, do not use solvent-based products.
• hec regularl that the coer seals and connecons are in good condion.

4.2 Backushing

• top the water circulaon and mae sure to switch o our water treatment appliance if an since water will not ow
in this part of the hdraulic circuit.
• Check that the pressure is 0 bar.

• hen the water is clear in the transparent window on the side of the mulwa ale switch o the water circulaon.
• et the ale to posion  rinsing and switch on the water circulaon again.

4.3 Replacing the lter medium
eplace the lter medium when it is clogged or according to the freuenc recommended  the manufacturer.

• et the ale to posion  closed and close the other ales as a precauon.
• pen the air leed screw on the coer and unscrew the drain plug to drain the water from the lter.
• ae o the coer then remoe the lter medium manuall or using a water and dust acuum cleaner tae care not to
damage the diuser the manifold and its strainers.
• hec that the diuser the manifold and its strainers are in good posion and correctl posioned.
• ill the lter with new lter medium according to the instrucons in ...
4.4 Wintering
• top the water circulaon.
• lean the lter see ..
• rain the water out of the lter see . and the enre hdraulic circuit.
• If the lter is posioned elow the water leel close the isolaon ales at sucon and discharge.
• et the mulwa ale to posion  winter.
5. Troubleshoong
