How to enter APN settings into your new ZTE MF79U Wi-Fi Dongle:
1) Place your Sim Card into your dongle.
2) Note: Please be sure to use the correct Sim card size for this device, which is a Micro Sim.
This is not the smallest sim (nano), nor is it the largest (mini). It is the middle-sized sim of the
3 options.
3) Remove the front cover of the device. To do so, press firmly on the front cover with both
thumbs and slide downwards (away from the lid)
4) Please also be sure that the Sim Card is inserted the correct way round. A small icon is
shown on the main body of the ZTE MF79U to show you which way round the small cut-
out/notch of your sim should be facing.

5) On the device that you wish to connect to (eg your phone/tablet/laptop etc), search for the ZTE
dongle under Wireless Connections/Wi-Fi. Once your device has found the ZTE dongle, enter the Wi-
Fi Password and click connect (The Wi-Fi Password is called KEY is printed on this sticker located
underneath the front cover of ZTE MF79U).
Note: If for any reason the Wi-Fi Key does not work, please press, and hold the Reset pin until all the
lights on the front of the dongle blink off and back on again, then try the Wi-Fi Key again.
(The Reset button is located underneath where you placed your sim card into the dongle).
6) Now that your device is connected to the ZTE MF79U it should automatically open the ZTE Admin
Page and ask you to login. If it does not load this page automatically, please open your browser on
your phone/tablet/laptop etc and type: 192.168.0.1 and press enter/go.
7) Once the ZTE landing page has loaded, it will ask you for a Password.

8) This Password is also printed on the same sticker underneath the front cover. (This Password is
not to be confused with the Wi-Fi Key shown on the other sticker used earlier in Step 2 of this guide).
9) From the Home Screen you will see 3 large circles named:
a) Access device
b) My router
c) Net surfing

10) Inside of the circle named 2. My Router, click Settings
11) Click on the APN arrow

12) Next to Mode click Manual and then the blue coloured Add New tab.
13) Now enter the APN Settings for your sim card (provided by email) and click Apply.

14) You will now see a message and a green tick saying: Success
15) Click the blue coloured Set as default tab.

16) Now click on the blue coloured ZTE icon.
17) Now make sure the LTE toggle is in the ON position and coloured green. You will also see a
green tick between circles 2. My router and 3. Net surfing.
