SET UP
1. Insert the microSD card into the MICRO SD slot, notched edge away from the screen.
2. Turn off your Eurorack and use the ribbon cable to connect the module to power:
■ Attach to the module with red edge of the ribbon cable on the left
side of the module when module is held with power socket on top
edge of module.
■ Attach to the Eurorack +12V power supply, with the red edge of the
cable aligned with pin 1 or the -12V pins on the power supply bus.
3. Mount the module into the rack and then power it up.
4. Connect your bitbox mk2 to external gear:
▪Out1 & Out2: connect to your mixer or speakers.
▪In1 & In2: connect to left and right audio signals to record.
▪MIDI: connect to a MIDI controller to trigger pads, play pads
chromatically, follow a MIDI clock, or use MIDI CC to control
parameters.
GET STARTED
When bitbox mk2 powers up, you see the Pads Screen. Touch a pad to trigger it. Use the
knobs to select elements and assign values. Push the HOME button to open the Menu
screen.

NOTE:
■ The bitbox mk2 does not automatically save your changes. Any unsaved changes
will be lost when you load a preset or power down the module. Push the HOME
button until you see the Menu screen, touch Presets, and then touch Save to
commit the changes to the preset.

FIND YOUR WAY AROUND
Push the HOME and INFO buttons to
navigate to other screens. The INFO
button takes you to more detail about the
current element, and the HOME button
takes you back a step.
CLEAR A PAD
1. Select a loaded pad and push the INFO button to display the Waveform screen.
2. Touch the Pad Mode icon to the left of the WAV le name at the top of the screen and
then touch New Rec. You will now see the Load and Record screen.

Sample Play single notes, free playing audio samples
or drum hits.
Multi-Sample Spread a list of wav les across the keyboard
to get more realistic instrument pitch
shifting or to map different sounds to each
key on the keyboard.
Clip Synchronize loops and quantize playback,
e.g. drum loops and guitar tracks between
one and eight measures long.
Slicer Independently trigger different sections of a
WAV le.
Granular Generate new sounds from your samples.
The sample is played back in small portions
about 10 to 200ms in length, called grains.
New Rec Start recording a new WAV le or clear a
WAV from a pad.
New Multi Start recording a new set of WAVs for use in
multi-sampling.
SELECT A PAD MODE
Touch the Pad Mode button on the Waveform screen to choose one of the following:
GATE INPUTS
Send a High
signal to trigger
the pad.
MIDI INPUT
Notes C2 (MIDI 36)
through G2 (MIDI 43)
will trigger pads.
EXT 1-4
Map to
parameters for
modulation.

Connect the bitbox mk2 to
Control Voltage and MIDI
sources to trigger pads,
modulate parameters, and play
pads chromatically.
RECORD A WAV FILE
1. Plug the audio source into the IN1 and IN2 jacks.
2. Touch a pad in the grid on the touchscreen to select it.
3. Press the INFO button. Clear the pad if needed to display the Load
and Record screen.
4. Set Rec Mon to Auto or On if you want the input source to play
through OUT1 and OUT2.
5. Touch the Rec button. The bitbox mk2 will start recording. Use the Rec Quant parameter
to synchronize the timing of the recording with the clock. Recording will start when a
signal is received if you set the Threshold parameter to On.
6. Touch the Stop button. The recording will end. If you congured a recording length,
bitbox mk2 will stop recording when the target length is reached. The le will be saved in
a folder with the same name as the preset under the \Presets folder on the microSD card.

ADJUST THE EFFECTS
Touch FX on the Menu screen to adjust the effect send for each pad to each effect.
ADJUST THE MASTER VOLUME
1. Touch Tools on the Menu to open the Tools screen.
2. Touch Main to open the Main tab. The four parameters are each
controlled by the closest knob.
3. Turn the top right knob to adjust the MasterVol parameter.

CONTROL THE MIX
Push the Home button to open the Menu and then touch Mix. On the Mixer screen you can
adjust the level and pan for the selected pad. Push the INFO button to switch to Mute mode.
Touch a pad to toggle mute on and off.
