I. Equipment introduction
Thank you for purchasing and using AIS-SERIES type microbial air sampler,
it represents the latest air floating microbial detection concept.
AIS-SERIES type microbial air sampler is a high effective multi-nozzle inhaling
style plankton sampler. It is based on isokinetic sampling design,
sampling is accurate. Sampling head wind speed is consistent with that of the
clean room, so it more accurately reflects the concentration of
microorganisms in the clean room. When collecting samples, the air
carrying particles with a certain impact speed into the surface of the medium,
the principle of this process is equivalent to level five of Anderson theory, to
ensure all particles larger than 1 micron are collected. Particles hit the surface
of the medium uniformly in the Petri dish, and the medium will maintain the
activity of the microbial by creating the best environment, which ensures
accurate and reliable measurement results. After automatic sampling is
completed, place the Petri dish in the incubator and culture, living
microorganisms in appropriate circumstances will obtain nutrients from the
medium and grow in high speed, finally the result comes out.
II. Application areas
1. Pharmaceutical industry:
Monitor microorganism number of laminar flow hood
Clean area cleanliness trend analysis
Evaluate the effectiveness of the sterilization
2. Food and beverage industry:
Detect microbial contamination in clean area, it is required in HACCP.
3. Hospitals

5. Petri dish installation and testing
According to GMP requirements to choose culture medium for targeted planktonic
microbial and prepare the required ready-to-use plate.
According to the requirements of GMP choose appropriate location to place the
sampler.
If put sampler above the operating table, please choose a stable and suitable bracket.
Make sure before you start sampling the Petri dish’s temperature is suitable.
Sampling procedure:
(1) Remove porous sampling head upward, and remove the cover. Place the sampling
head and cover to autoclaves and sterilize at 121℃for 30 minutes (or use
75% alcohol wipe for sterilization). After sterilization, put the cover on the sampling
head. The Petri dish rack and sampler exterior also need sterilization (using
75% alcohol wipe).
(2) Switch on the sampler, the screen displays the current system date and time,
battery level, memory space, the last set sampling volume and sampling delay time
and other information.
(3) Place the ready-to-use plate (using diameter 70~90mm Petri dishes) on Petri dish
rack and adjust the dish to water level, install sampling head and remove the
protective cover.
(4) Press "Start" to enter fast parameter selection and it will display the last setting
parameters (with parameter group code). Press "Select" to select cursor position, and

8
press “up” and “down” button to change group number. The screen displays
parameters settings (sample volume, sampling delay time and sampling location code)
of the current group. Choose an appropriate group and press "Start" then the sampler
begins to prepare sampling, meanwhile sampling delay time countdown starts,
sampling pump will run (begin sampling) when the countdown finished. After
reaching to the set sampling volume, the pump will automatically stop, and the screen
will return to the main interface, sampling finish, sampling data will be automatically
saved.
(5) Remove the sampling head, take out the dish and cover it with its original cover,
label or number it if necessary, then place it in a thermostatic incubator which has
reached the set temperature for incubation.
(6) If change location for another sampling process, it need to sterilize again, repeat
the previous steps.
(7) In the main interface, press "Select" to data query, you can see the previously
recorded sample data (including sampling quantity, sampling date, sampling time,
sampling location code and other information), it can save 2000 pages of data, press
"Select" to adjust the cursor position, press “up” and “down” button to turn page,
press "Exit" to return to the main interface.
(8) During sampling, if press "Exit" will manually terminate sampling, the pump will
stop working and the display of the total sampling volume will stop, the screen returns
to the main interface.
VIII. Maintenance and precautions
1. Shall not sampling toxic or corrosive gas, not use it in high acidity and alkalinity
environment, not use it in dust concentration more than 0.3mg/ m 3environment.
2. Do not start sampling before removing the cover in case of pump get overheat or
burnt.
3. If display shows low power (empty in the batter symbol) it indicates the battery
must to be charged, otherwise it will affect the battery life of the sampler.
4. When installing dish, dish must be in place and fastened, and adjust the dish to the
approximate water level.
5. After each use, must to use alcohol to swab clean "sampling head" and "protective
cover", and put the "protective cover" on the "sampling head".
6. If not use for a long time, it should be placed in the box. We recommend use it at
least once per month, each time running 20 minutes.
