Understanding player performance
The quality of the vi eo an au io of your player is epen ent on a combination of several
factors:
Your au io/vi eo connections - The type of au io an vi eo connections you use to connect
your player an your TV may impact soun an picture quality. In general, HDMI an optical
au io are superior to stereo au io. Similarly, HDMI an component vi eo are superior to
S-Vi eo. A itionally, HDMI, component vi eo, an S-Vi eo are all better than composite
vi eo. Use your best available option when connecting the au io an vi eo cables to your
player.
Your broa ban spee - Your Internet Service Provi er (ISP) etermines your broa ban
spee . We recommen a minimum connection speed of 1.5 Mbps. For the best quality
picture, a connection spee of 2.0 Mbps is require . Sometimes your broa ban spee varies
base on your ISP’s network con itions. Contact your ISP if you have problems maintaining a
fast connection that is reliable, or if you want to increase your connection spee . Many ISPs
offer a variety of broa ban spee options.
Your home network - In many homes, the Internet connection is share with other evices
such as computers, gaming consoles, network har rives, an so on. If any of these
network evices are transferring large amounts of ata across your network (such as a file
transfer, online gaming, or other instances of streaming vi eo), your soun an picture
quality may be compromise .
