The Adaptec PCI-X zero-channel RAID
(ZCR) card offers the ideal solution for

Adaptec SCSI RAID 2020ZCR and
2025ZCR cards provide an affordable, high-
performance solution to businesses
requiring data protection. The low profile
form factor is ideal for workstations and
high-density server environments.
The Adaptec SCSI RAID 2020ZCR and
2025ZCR cards take advantage of the
system motherboard’s existing UltraU320
SCSI I/O channels by using complementary
logic designed on the motherboard. This
innovative approach reduces the cost of the
RAID card by eliminating the need for a
SCSI I/O chip on the card. The Adaptec
2020ZCR and 2025ZCR cards offer high-
speed throughput, scalability, space-saving
features, and a cost-effective upgrade path
toafull-featured PCI-X RAID solution.
Configuration and Interoperability
The Adaptec 2020ZCR requires
motherboards with a 64-bit PCI/PCI-X slot
supporting Adaptec Embedded RAID Logic
(EMRL) or Intel RAIDIOS Logic.
The Adaptec 2025ZCR is a “credit card size”
RAID card that plugs into a specially
designed small form factor PCI-X
connector (an SODIMM connector
attached to the PCI-X bus via EMRL) on
Ultra320 motherboards. This unique design
gives high-density servers advanced RAID
protection and performance without
sacrificing a PCI-X slot, making it ideal for
1U applications.
Easy-to-use storage management
The Adaptec 2020ZCR and 2025ZCR
operate under Adaptec Storage Manager™,a
storage management tool that centralizes
management of all Adaptec host-based and
all hardware based RAID products. The
software enables remote management,
monitoring, and configuration of RAID
arraysthroughsecure, encrypted remote
communications. The intuitive RAID
management tool provides pop-up tips and
online help tosimplify the creationand
management of RAID arrays.
Compatibility, Reliability, and Support
Adaptec zero-channel RAID cards are
designedto work with motherboards
incorporating a complementary logic, such
as Adaptec Embedded RAID logic (EMRL)
or Intel RAIDIOS logic. Like all Adaptec
