SetRemoteControllerBatteries
The MFRisequipped witharemotecontrollerforuser’s convenience.Whenthe MFRis
connected toTV/projector,using the remotecontrollerforoperating isrecommended.
The remotecontrollerusestwoAAA batteriesforpowersupply.The batteriesmustbe setbeforeusing
the remotecontroller.
3.Recoverthe batterycap,and the remotecontrollercan worknow.
Charging LiBatterySet
The MFRcan usethe Libatterysetforindependentpowersupply.The Libatterysetmustbe charged
beforeusing itforpowersupply.
4.Whilecharging,the MFRcan still workasusual.
2.Connectthe DC poweradapterfromthe MFRtothe wall
outlet(100V-240V).
3.The LEDindicatoron the Libatterysetwill lightuntil the charging
finishes.
1.Turnthe remotecontrolleroverand removethebatterycap.
2. InsertthetwoAAA batteriesintothe batterysocket.
1.Connectthe batterysetwiththe MFR.

SetNTSC/PALSystem
The MFRcan applytotwoTVsystems:NTSCand PAL.Refertofollowinginstructionstoadjustthe MFR
forfitting yourTVsystem.
1.Check outthe manualofthe TV/projectortoknowwhichsystemitbelongsto.
2.Turnthe MFRasideand adjustthe NTSC/PAL
switch.You can useaneedleorapen asatool.
Removing LiBatterySet
The MFRalsocan workonlywithconnected DC poweradapterinstead ofthe batteryset. Toremovethe
Libatteryset, pleaserefertofollowing instructions.
2.Pushthe lockerofthe LibatterysettoBATTERYUNLOCK and
pull the Libatterysettotakeitoff.
1.Turnthe MFRover.
PowerMFRON/OFF
The MFRcan be powered on/off bythe powerswitchorthe PowerOnbutton on the remotecontroller.
1.Connectthe charged Libatterysetorthe DC poweradaptertothe MFR.(Connectthe Libattery
setand the DC poweradaptersimultaneouslyisalsoacceptable.)

2.Pushthe powerswitchtoON.
3.When the powerswitchison,you can usetheremotecontrollerto
turnMFRoffand on again.
WithonlyLiBatterysetconnected,using thepowerswitchisrecommended tosavemorepower.
However,ifyou areusing the DC poweradapterforpowersupply,you can usethe powerswitchorthe
remotecontrolleratyourwill.

USAGE:STAND-ALONE
Backup DatafromStorageCardtoCD-R/CD-RW
The MFRcan backup datafromstorage cardtoCD-R/CD-RWwithoutconnecting tocomputer.Referto
followinginstructionstolearnhowtousethisfunction.
1.PowertheMFRon.
2.Press the CD trayejectortoextractthe CD trayand insertaCD-R/CD-RWintothe tray;and then
pushthe trayback tocloseit. The MFRwillload the disc automatically.
3.Afterthe disc loading process(forabout10 seconds),insertthe storage cardthatisgoing tobe
backup.
The MFRallowsbacking up one cardatone time,sopleasedo notinserttwocards
simultaneously.
4.Press the Keyoncetogetreadytobackup,and the LCMwill show“BACKUP?”toconfirm.
Press the Keyonceagaintoproceed and beginbackup,orpress the keytocancelthe
process.

5.Afterthe backup begins,you can read the information ofburningprocess fromthe LCM.
6.The burning process isdone,and the CD traywillextractthe CD-R/CD-RWautomatically.
The MFRsupportsmulti-session burning.If thereisstill free spaceinthe burned CD-R/CD-RW,
you can useitforbackup again.
Backup DatafromStorageCardtoCD-R/CD-RW

MP3Player
The MFRcan playMP3fileinthe cardorinthe disc justlikeaMP3player.Refertofollowing instructions
tolearnhowtousethisfunction.
1.Connectthe headphone orspeakertothe audiooutputofthe MFR.
2.PowertheMFRon.
3. Insertthe storage cardorthe disc containsMP3files.Using the cardand the disc simultaneously
isnotrecommended.The MP3filesshouldbe saved inthe rootdirectoryofthe cardorthe disc,if
thosefilesareinanyfolderinthe cardorthe disc,the MFRwill notautomaticallyfind them.
4.Press the Keytostartplaying the MP3files.
5.You cancontrolthe playingwiththe controlpanelortheremotecontroller.
CD Walkman
The MFRcan playaudioCD justlikeaCD Walkman.Refertofollowing instructionstolearnhowtouse
thisfunction.
1.Connectthe headphone orspeakertothe audiooutputofthe MFR.
2.PowertheMFRon.
3. Insertthe audioCD you wanttoplay.
4.The MFRwillload and playtheaudioCD automatically.
5.You cancontrolthe playingwiththe controlpanelortheremotecontroller.

ConnectMFRtoTVSetorProjector
The MFRcan playmovieDVD,movieVCD,audioCD,KodakPicture-CD,and JPEG/MPEG1/MPEG2/
MP3filesinthe disc orinthe storage cardon TVorprojectorviaAV connection.Toconnectthe MFRto
the TV/projector,pleaserefertofollowing instructions.
1.Connectthe RCAcablefromthe video and audiooutputofthe MFRtothe video and audio
inputofthe TV/projector.
2. If the TV/projectorisequipped withS-video input, you can connectthe RCAcablefromthe audio
outputofthe MFRtothe audioinputofthe TV/projector;and the S-video cablefromthe S-video
outputoftheMFRtothe S-video inputofthe TV/Projector.
Aboutthe accuratelocation ofthe A/Vinputofthe TV/projector,pleaserefertothe manualofthe
TV/projector.
Using Setup Menu
When the MFRisconnected toTV/projectorand poweredon,you can usethe setup menu anytime.
Refertofollowing instructionstousethesetup menu.
1.Connectthe MFRtoTV/projectorand powerthemon.
2.Press the Menu button on the remotecontrollertoenterthe mainpage ofthe setup menu.
Inthispage,the firmwareversion ofthe MFRisshowninthe corner.(The firmwareversion
showsonlyinEnglishmode.)You can movethe lightbarbypressing /key.

1.Enterthe setup menu and getintothe generalsetup page.
2.Usethe and keytomovethe lightbartoTVDISPLAY,and then press the keytomove
the lightbartothe frameatthe rightside.
3.Movethe lightbarand then press the /keytomakeaselection.
4.Afterthe selection ismade,press keytomovethe lightbartothe frameatthe left side.To
setup OSDlanguage,movethe lightbartoOSDLANG;toquittothe mainpage,movethe lightbar
toMAINPAGEand press /.
3.Toquitthe setup menu,movethe lightbartoEXITSETUPand press the /key;orpress
the Menu keyagaininanypage.

Setting On-ScreenDisplay Language
1.Enterthe setup menu and getintothe generalsetup page.
2.Usethe and keytomovethe lightbartoOSDLANG,and then press the keyto
movethe lightbartothe frameatthe rightside.
3.Movethe lightbarand then press the /keytomakeaselection.
4.Afterthe selection ismade,you will see all the textinthe pageturnstothe selected language.
5.Press keytomovethe lightbartothe frameatthe left side.Tosetup TVdisplaymode,move
the lightbartoTVDISPLAY;toquittothe mainpage,movethe lightbartoMAINPAGEand press
/.
DVDPlayer
The samewithaDVDplayer,the MFRcan playmovieDVD(DVD-Video),VCD(VideoCD 1.1,2.0,&3.
0),SVCD(SuperVideoCD),AudioCD(CD-DA),and KodakPicture-CD on TV/projector.Tousethis
function,pleaserefertofollowinginstructions.

Play
1.Connectthe MFRtoTV/projectorand powerthemon.
2.Press the disc trayejectortoejectthe disc trayand insertthe disc thatyou wanttoplay.

VolumeControl
1.Whileplaying,the volumecan besetbythe remotecontroller.Press
the VOL+keytoturnthe volumeup,and press the VOL-keytoturn
thevolumedown.
2. If you wanttoturnthe volumeoff,press the MUTEkeyon the remote
controller.Toturnthe volumeon,press the MUTEkeyorthe VOL+/
VOL-keyonceagain.
GotoNext/PreviousChapter
1.Whileplaying,press the /keyon the remotecontrolleror
the controlpaneltogotonextchapterorreturntopreviouschapter.
FastForward/Backward
1.Whileplaying,press /keyon the remotecontrollerto
makethe playing fastforward/backward.
2.The speed offastforward/backwardchangesbythe timesyou press
the /keyinthe sequenceof1X(Normal),2X,4X,6X,8X,
and returnto1Xatlast.
3.Whilefastforward/backward,you canreturntonormalplaying(1X)by
pressing the /key.
ZoomIn
1.Whileplaying,press ZOOMON/OFF keyonthe remotecontrollerto
zoomindisplay.
2.The displaysizeofzoominchangesbythe timesyou press the
ZOOMON/OFF keyinthe sequenceof1X(Normal),1.5X,2X,3X,
and returnto1Xatlast.
3.When the displayiszoomed in,theremustbe somepartofthe
displayoutofthescreen,soyou can press thearrowkeyon the
remotecontrollermoving the displaytowatchthehidden part.

Pause
1.Whileplaying,press the keyon the remotecontrollerorthe
keyon the controlpaneloncetopauseplaying.
2.Toresumeplaying,press the orthe keyon the remote
controller;orthe on the controlpanelonceagain.
Stop
1.Whileplaying,press the keyon the remotecontrollerorthe
controlpaneloncetopauseplaying.Inthisstatus,youcan resume
playing bypressing the keyonce.
2.Press the keyonceagaintostop playing.
Attention!
1.Whileusing the DVDplayerfunction,insertion ofstorage cardwill
maketheMFRswitchtomediaplayermode automatically.
2.ToreturntoDVDplayermode,press the DVDMODEkeyon the
remotecontroller.
GotoRootMenu ofFilm
1.Whileplaying,press keyon the remotecontrollertoenterthe
rootmenu ofthe film.

MediaPlayer
The MFRcan playJPEG(.JPG)/MPEG1(.MPG)/MPEG2(.DAT)/MP3(.MP3)filesinthe disc orinthe
storage cardon TV/projector.Refertofollowing instructionstousethisfunction.
Play JPEGFile:Viewing
1.Connectthe MFRtoTV/projectorand powerthemon.
2. Insertthe disc orthe storage cardthatcontainsJPEGfiles.
*The twocardsocketscannotbe used simultaneously,sopleaseinsertonlyone cardatone time.
Otherwise,using the disc and the cardsimultaneouslyisnotrecommended.
3.Afterthe insertion ofthe disc orthe storage card,the MFRwill showthe contentsinthe disc or
thecardautomatically.
4.Therewouldbe aicon infrontofthe nameofthe JPEGfile.Press the arrowkeyon the remote
controllertomovethe lightbartothe fileyou wanttoplay,and then press the /keytoplay
the file.If the fileisinafolder,movethe lightbartothe folderand press /keytoenterthe
folder.
5.Whileplaying,press the /orthe /keytoswitchtothe nextorthe previousfile.
Toquitviewing,press /.

Play JPEGFile:Rotating
1. Inthe viewing frameofthe file,press the orthe keytorotatethe pictureclockwise
orcounterclockwisein90 degrees.
Play JPEGFile:Zooming
1. Inthe viewing frameofthe file,press the ZOOMON/OFF keytoactivatethezoomfunction.
2.Afterthe zoomfunction isactivated,press the ZOOMOUTorthe ZOOMINkeytozoomthe picture
out/infrom25%to200%.
3.When apictureiszoomed in,theremustbe somepartofthe pictureoutofthe screen.Usethe
arrowkeys onthe remotecontrollermoving the picturetowatchthe hidden part.
4.When thezoomfunctionisactivated,therotatefunctioncannotwork.Turnoffthe zoomfunction by
pressing the ZOOMON/OFF keyagaintoactivatethe rotatefunction.

Play JPEGFile:SlideShow
1.Onceentering aviewing frame,aslide showofall the picturesinthe folderwill be automatically
performed.You can pausethe slide showbypressing /keyon the remotecontrollerorthe
controlpanel.
2.Thereare13 transition modesofslide show,press the TRANSMODEkeyon the remotecontroller
toactivateitand selectdifferentmodes.Using thisfunction will makethe slideshowmorefluently.
3.Press the REPEATkeyon the remotecontrollertwice(repeatfolder)torepeatthe slide show.
Play JPEGFile:Thumbnail Mode
1.When the displayshowsaviewing frameorthe contentsofafoldercontainsJPEGfiles,press
keyonthe remotecontrollertoenterthethumbnail mode.
2.All the JPEGfilesinthe folderwill listinthe frameofthumbnail mode;9filesperframe,press the
\keytoswitchtonext/previousframe.Ineverysingleframe,you can usethe
arrowkeys on the remotecontrollertoselectafile,and then press the \keytoviewthe
picture.
3.Toquitthe thumbnail mode,press /key.

Play MPEG/MP3File:Playing
1.Connectthe MFRtoTV/projectorand powerthemon.
2. Insertthe disc orthestorage cardthatcontainsMPEG/MP3files.
*The twocardsocketscannotbe used simultaneously,sopleaseinsertonlyone cardatone time.
Otherwise,using the disc and the cardsimultaneouslyisnotrecommended.
3.Afterthe insertion ofthe disc orthe storage card,the MFRwill showthe contentsinthe disc or
thecardautomatically.
4.Therewouldbe aicon infrontofthe nameofthe MPEGfileand aicon infrontofthe
nameofthe MP3file.Press the arrowkeyon the remotecontrollertomovethe lightbartothe file
you wanttoplay,and then press the \keytoplaythe file.If the fileisinafolder,movethe
lightbartothe folderand press \keytoenterthe folder.
5.Whileplaying,press the \orthe \keytoswitchtothe nextorthe previousfile.
Press the \keytopauseplaying.
6.Onceafileisplayed,the MFRwill continueplaying the following filesinthefolder.Press the
REPEATkeytoselectdifferentrepeatplaying functions.
7.Toquitplaying,press \.
Play MPEG/MP3File:OtherFunctions
The othercontrolfunctionsofMPEG/MP3playing,likeFastForward/Backward,VolumeControl,
etc., areverysimilartothe controlfunctionsofthe DVDplaying.Pleaserefertothe chapter:DVD
Playerforthe instructionsofusingthesefunctions.
