an explanation in the user’s manual in order to avoid
the risk of injury or death of personnel or damage to

• For the protection and safe use of the product and
the system in which this product is incorporated,
be sure to follow the instructions and precautions
on safety that is stated in this manual whenever
you handle the product. Take special note that if
you handle the product in a manner that violated
these instructions, the protection functionality of
the product may be damaged or impaired. In such
cases, YOKOGAWA does not guarantee the quality,

• When installing protection and/or safety as lightning
protection devices and equipment for the product
and control system or designing or installing separate
protection and/or safety circuits for fool-proof design
and fail-safe design of the processes and lines that
use the product and the control system, the user
should implement these using additional devices and
equipment.

replacing. Contact YOKOGAWA’s service ofce for
fuse replacement.
• This product is not designed or manufactured to
be used in critical applications that directly affect
or threaten human lives. Such applications include
nuclear power equipment, devices using radioactivity,

facilities, aviation facilities, and medical equipment. If
so used, it is the user’s responsibility to include in the
system additional equipment and devices that ensure

nFor Safe Use of Product
• For the protection and safe use of the product and
the system in which this product is incorporated,
be sure to follow the instructions and precautions
on safety that is stated in this manual whenever
you handle the product. Take special note that if
you handle the product in a manner that violated
these instructions, the protection functionality of the
product may be damaged or impaired. In such cases,
YOKOGAWA shall not be liable for any indirect or
consequential loss incurred by either using or not
being able to use the product.
• This product conforms to IP66/67 (IEC60529) and
NEMA Type 4X.
• This product is designed for indoor and outdoor use.
WARNING
• PurposeofUse
This product is the Magnetic Flowmeter for use of
measuring the liquid ow. Do not use this product
for other purposes.
• ConnecttheProtectiveGroundingTerminal
Ensure to connect the protective grounding to
prevent electric shock before turning on the power.
• DoNotImpairtheProtectiveGrounding
Never cut off the internal or external protective
grounding wire or disconnect the wiring of the
protective grounding terminal. Doing so invalidates
the protective functions of the product and poses a
potential shock hazard.
• ConnecttheFunctionalGroundingTerminal
Connect the functional grounding to stabilize the
ow rate indication.
• DoNotOperatewithDefectiveProtective
Grounding
Do not operate the product if the protective
grounding might be defective. Also, ensure to check
them before operation.
• DoNotOperateinanExplosiveandCorrosive
Atomosphere
Do not operate the product in the presence of
ammable gas, vapors, or combustible dust.
Operate the product comply to appropriate
explosion-proof certicate in the presence of
ammable gas or combustible dust. Prolonged use
in a highly dense corrosive gas (H2S, SOX, etc.) will
cause a malfunction.
• DoNotRemovetheSafetyCover
The cover should be removed by YOKOGAWA’s
qualied personnel only. Opening the cover is
dangerous, because some areas inside the product
have high voltages.
• GroundtheProductbeforeMakingExternal
Connections
Connect the protective grounding before connecting
to the item under measurement or control unit.
• DamagetotheProtection
Operating the product in a manner neither
described in this manual nor the applicable manuals
listed in the front page may damage the product’s
protection.
WARNING
• Installation,Wiring,andMaintenance
• The magnetic owmeter is a heavy product. Be
careful that no damage is caused personnel
through accidentally dropping it, or by exerting
excessive force on the magnetic owmeter. When
moving the magnetic owmeter, always use a
trolley and have at least two people carry it.
• When the magnetic owmeter is processing hot
uids, the product itself may become extremely
hot. Take sufcient care not to get burnt.
• Where the uid being processed is a toxic
substance, avoid contact with the uid and avoid
inhaling any residual gas, even after the product
has been taken off the piping line for maintenance
and so forth.
• Do not apply excessive weight, for example, a
person stepping on the magnetic owmeter.
• Installation, wiring and maintenance of the
magnetic owmeter must be performed by expert
engineer or skilled personnel. No operator shall
be permitted to perform procedures relating to
installation, wiring and maintenance.
• The magnetic owmeter must be installed within
the specication conditions.
• The magnetic owmeter should be installed away
from electrical motors, transformers, and other
power sources in order to avoid interference with
measurement.
• In cases where the ambient temperature exceeds
50°C, use external heat resistant wiring with a
maximum allowable temperature of 70°C or more.
• When wiring the conduits, pass the conduit
through the cable entry, and utilize the waterproof
gland to prevent water from owing in. Install a
drain valve at the low end of the vertical pipe, and
open the valve regularly.
• When opening and closing the cover, be sure
to handle the cover carefully so that there are
no damage and foreign matter adhesion at its
threads and O-ring.
• Do not open the cover in wet weather or humid
environment. When the cover is open, stated
enclosure protection is not applicable.
• Do not connect cables outdoors in wet weather
in order to prevent condensation and to protect
the insulation, e.g. inside the terminal box of the
owmeter.
• Ensure that the power supply is off in order to
prevent electric shocks.
• When opening the terminal box, wait for more
than 20 minutes after turning off the power.
• Install an external switch or circuit breaker as a
means to turn the power off (capacitance: 15 A,
conforming to IEC60947-1 and IEC60947-3).
Locate this switch either near the product or in
other places facilitating easy operation. Afx
a "Power Off Equipment" label to this external
switch or circuit breaker.

WARNING
• Installation,Wiring,andMaintenance
• Wiring work should be done adequate wire,
sleeve crimp and torque force. Use terminal with
insulating cover for the power supply wiring and
protective grounding wiring. Do not pull the wires
too much strongly in order to prevent electric
shocks caused by their damage.
• This product employs the parts which are affected
by a function damage caused by static electricity.
Thus, you should do the anti-static work using
an anti-static wrist band for it and be careful to
avoid touching each electrical parts and circuitry
directly.
• When connecting the wiring, check that the
supply voltage is within the range of the voltage
specied for this product before connecting the
power cable. In addition, check that no voltage is
applied to the power cable before connecting the
wiring.
• To prevent electric shocks, ensure the electrical
wiring cover is completely attached after the
wiring work.
• To prevent electric shocks, do not impress over
rated voltage to each input/output terminals.
• If there is any unused cable entry, use the
blanking plug to cover which comes with this
product or which is supplied by YOKOGAWA. The
blanking plug should be fastened into the unused
cable entry without any mistake. If not, stated
enclosure protection is not applicable.
Explosion protection type must be wired in
accordance with specic requirement (local legal
regulations) in order to preserve the effectiveness
of their explosion protected features.
• Maintenance of this product should be
implemented in a maintenance service shop
where the necessity tools and environment
condition are provided.
The necessity of this environmental condition
is that ambient temperature is 5 to 40°C
(the maximum relative humidity is 80 % for
temperature 5 to 31°C, and decreasing linearly to
50 % relative humidity at 40°C).
For Explosion Protection type, maintenance shall
be implemented only when there is no explosive
atmosphere present.
• All procedures relating to installation must comply
with the electrical code of the country where it is
used.

voltage of the power supply before turning on the
power.

• This product conforms to IEC61326-1, IEC61326-2-3,
IEC61000-3-2, and IEC61000-3-3 (EMC standard).
• Performance Specication during immunity test
Flow rate output: Output uctuation within ±5% of
default (1 m/s) span
CAUTION
This product is a Class A product in the IEC61326-
1(EMC standard). Operation of this product in a
residential area may cause radio interference, in
which case the user is required to take appropriate
measures to correct the interference.

This product conforms to IEC safety class I (with
Protective grounding terminal), Installation Category
(Overvoltage Category) II, No Measurement Category
(“O”(Other)), Micro Pollution degree 2, Macro Pollution
degree 4.

■ 本製品の保護・安全・改造および廃棄
に関する注意
本製品および本書では，安全に関する次のようなシン
ボルマークとシグナル用語を使用しています。
警告
回避しないと，死亡または重傷を招く恐れがある危険
な状況が生じることが予見される場合に使う表示で
す。本書ではそのような場合その危険を避けるための
注意事項を記載しています。
注意
回避しないと，軽傷を負うかまたは物的損害が発生す
る危険な状況が生じることが予見される場合に使う表
示です。本書では取扱者の身体に危険が及ぶ恐れ，ま
たは製品を損傷する恐れがある場合，その危険を避け
るための注意事項を記載しています。
重要
製品を損傷したり，システムトラブルになるおそれが
ある場合に，注意すべきことがらを記載しています。

実現するなど別途検討いただき，用意するようお願

• 本製品の部品を交換する場合は，必ず当社の指定品
を使用してください。ヒューズの交換は，当社のサー
ビスに依頼してください。
• 本製品は原子力および放射線関連機器，鉄道施設，
航空機器，舶用機器，航空施設，医療機器などの人
身に直接かかわるような状況下で使用されることを
目的として設計，製造されたものではありません。
人身に直接かかわる安全性を要求されるシステムに
適用する場合には，お客様の責任において，本製品
以外の機器・装置をもって人身に対する安全性を確
保するシステムの構築をお願いいたします。
• 本製品を改造することは固くお断りいたします。
• 本製品は，地域および国の法律 / 規制に従って，廃
棄する必要があります。

■ 本製品を安全にご使用いただくために
• 本製品および本製品を含むシステムの保護・安全の
ため，本製品を取り扱う際は，本書の安全に関する
指示事項に従ってください。なお，これらの指示事
項に反する扱いをされた場合，本製品の保護機能が
損なわれるなど，その機能が十分に発揮されない場
合があります。この場合，本製品のご使用または使
用不能から生じる間接損害について，当社は責任を
負いかねます。
• 本製品 は，IP66/67（IEC60529），NEMAType4X の
製品です。
• 本製品は，屋内および屋外機器です。
警告
• 用途
本製品は液体流量を測定する電磁流量計です。電磁
流量計としての用途以外には使用しないでくださ
い。
• 保護接地
感電防止のため，本製品の電源を入れる前に必ず保
護接地を行ってください。
• 保護接地の必要性
本製品の内部，または外部の保護接地線を切断した
り，保護接地端子の結線を外したりしないでくださ
い。
いずれの場合も本製品の保護動作が無効になり，危
険な状態になります。
・機能接地
機器を安定してご使用いただくために機能接地を
行ってください。
• 保護機能の欠陥
本製品の保護機能に欠陥があると思われるときは，
本製品を動作させないでください。また本製品を動
作させる前には保護機能に欠陥がないか確認してく
ださい。
• ガス中での使用
一般用については，可燃性，爆発性のガス，蒸気，
または燃えやすい粉塵のある場所では，本製品を動
作させないでください。そのような環境下で本製品
を使用することは大変危険です。腐食性ガス（H2S，
SOXなど）濃度の高い環境での長時間の使用は故障
の原因になります。
• セーフティーカバーの取り外し
当社のサービス以外はセーフティーカバーを外さな
いでください。本製品の内部には高電圧の箇所があ
り，危険です。
• 外部接続
保護接地を確実に行ってから，測定対象や外部制御
回路への接続を行ってください。
• 保護構造の損傷
本製品の取扱説明書に記載のない操作を行うと，本
製品の保護構造が損なわれることがあります。

• 電磁流量計は重量物です。うっかり落とす，無理
な力を使うなどして人体を損傷することのないよ
う十分注意してください。運搬には必ず運搬車を
使い，取り扱いは 2 人以上で行ってください。
• 高温流体の場合，検出器本体が高温になっている
恐れがありますので，火傷には十分注意してくだ
さい。
• プロセス流体が人体に有害な物質の場合は，保守
などで本製品をラインから取り外した後も慎重に
取扱い，人体への流体付着，残留ガスの吸入など
のないよう十分注意してください。
• 本製品に人が乗るなどの荷重を加えないでくださ
い。
• 本製品の設置，配線，保守はしかるべき技術を有
する方が行ってください。設置，配線，保守に関
する事項をオペレータの方は行わないでくださ
い。
• 電磁流量計の仕様内の環境で設置してください。
• 本製品の近くに，モータ，変圧器，インバータ，
その他動力源があると誘導障害を起こすことがあ
りますので，これらの機器と近接しないように注
意してください。
• 周囲温度 50℃以上の場合は，最高許容温度 70℃
以上の外部配線を使用してください。
•
コンジット配線を行う場合は，配線口へコンジッ
トを通して水が流れ込まないように水防グランド
を使用してください。また，ドレイン排出弁を設け，
定期的にドレイン抜きを行ってください。
・カバーを開閉する場合，ねじ部や O リングに損傷
や異物付着がないよう，取り扱いに十分注意して
ください。
• 雨天時および高湿度の場所ではカバーを開けない
でください。カバーを開けると，規定された容器
による保護はされません。
• 端子箱内などの絶縁を確保し，結露による障害を
防止するため，雨天時に屋外でケーブルの接続を
行わないでください。
• 感電防止のため，電源の供給元が OFFになって
いることを確認してください。
• 端子箱を開ける際は，電源 OFF 後，20 分経過し
ていることを確認してください。
• 電源遮断（電源 OFF）の手段として，外部スイッ
チまたはブレーカー（容量：15A，IEC60947-1，
IEC60947-3に適合）を設置してください。
 流量計の近く，または作業しやすい場所に「電源
遮断器」と表示して設置してください。
• 配線は適切な電線，圧着端子およびトルクで行っ
てください。電源配線および保護接地配線には絶
縁カバー付圧着端子を使用してください。破損に
よる感電防止のため，配線コードを強く引っ張ら
ないでください。
• 本製品は静電気により機能破壊を受ける部品を一
部に使用しています。取扱い時にはリストスト
ラップなどで帯電防止を行い，各電子部品および
回路などに直接ふれないよう十分注意してくださ
い。
• 配線接続にあたり供給側の電圧が本製品の定格電
圧に合っていることを確認してから，電源コード
を接続してください。また接続の際は電源コード
に電圧がかかっていないことを確認してくださ
い。
• 感電防止のため，配線後は端子箱カバーを完全に
締めてください。
• 感電防止のため，各入出力端子には定格を超えた
電圧を印加しないでください。
• 使用しない配線口は，付属または当社から購入し
た閉止プラグで塞いでください。付属の閉止プラ
グで塞がない場合，規定された容器による保護は
されません。
• 本製品の保守は，必要な機器および環境が整った
メンテナンスルームで作業を行ってください。
 必要環境条件とは，5℃以上 40℃以下の周囲温
度 (5℃以上 31℃以下では最大相対湿度 80%，31
℃を超えるときは 40℃において相対湿度 50%
まで直線的に減少する湿度 ) を指します。
• 設置に関わる全ての事項は，各国の Electrical
Code（電気工事規定）に従って行ってください。
