Advantech warrants to you, the original purchaser, that each of its
products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for two
years from the date of purchase.This warranty does not apply to any
products which have been repaired or altered by persons other than
repair personnel authorized by Advantech, or which have been subject to
misuse, abuse, accident or improper installation. Advantech assumes no
liability under the terms of this warranty as a consequence of such
events.Because of Advantech’s high quality-control standards and
rigorous testing, most of our customers never need to use our repair
service.
If an Advantech product is defective,it will be repaired or replaced at
no charge during the warranty period. For out-of-warranty repairs, you
will be billed according to the cost of replacement materials,service
time and freight. Please consult your dealer for more details.If you
think you have a defective product, follow these steps:
1. Collect all the information about the problem encountered. (For
example, CPU speed, Advantech products used, other hardware and
software used, etc.) Note anything abnormal and list any onscreen
messages you get when the problem occurs.
2. Call your dealer and describe the problem. Please have your manual,
product,and any helpful information readily available.

3. If your product is diagnosed as defective, obtain an RMA (return
merchandise authorization) number from your dealer. This allows us to
process your return more quickly.
4. Carefully pack the defective product, a fully-completed Repair and
Replacement Order Card and a photocopy proof of purchase date (such as
your sales receipt)in a shippable container. A product returned without
proof of the purchase date is not eligible for warranty service.
5. Write the RMA number visibly on the outside of the package and ship
it prepaid to your dealer.

Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B
digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to
provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not
installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur

Please have the following information ready before you call:

–Description of your peripheral attachments
–Description of your software (operating system, version, application
software, etc.)
–A complete description of the problem

Safety Instructions 安全指示
1. Please read these safety instructions carefully.
2. Please keep this User’s Manual for later reference.
3. Please disconnect this equipment from AC outlet before cleaning. Use a damp
cloth. Don’t use liquid or sprayed detergent for cleaning. Use moisture
sheet or clothe for cleaning.
4. For pluggable equipment, the socket-outlet shall near the equipment and
shall be easily accessible.
5. Please keep this equipment from humidity.
6. Lay this equipment on a reliable surface when install. A drop or fall could
cause injury.
7. The openings on the enclosure are for air convection hence protecting the
equipment from overheating. DO NOT COVER THE OPENINGS.
8. Make sure the voltage of the power source when connecting the equipment to
the power outlet.
9. Ensure to connect the power cord to a socket-outlet with earthling
connection
10. Place the power cord such a way that people cannot step on it. Do not
place anything over the power cord.
11. All cautions and warnings on the equipment should be noted.
12. If the equipment is not used for long time, disconnect the equipment from
mains to avoid being damaged by transient over-voltage.
13. Never pour any liquid into ventilation openings; this could cause fire or
electrical shock.
14. Never open the equipment. For safety reasons, only qualified service
personnel should open the equipment.
15. Before any internal installation procedures are carried out on the system,
make sure the system is turned off and cooled down for 15 minutes. Failing
to run off the system before opening it can cause permanent damage to the
system and serious or fatal injury to the user.

16. If one of the following situations arises, get the equipment checked by
service personnel:
The power cord or plug is damaged.
Liquid has penetrated into the equipment.
The equipment has been exposed to moisture.
The equipment does not work well, or you cannot get it to work according
to the user's manual.
The equipment has been dropped and damaged.
The equipment has obvious signs of breakage.
17. Do not leave this equipment in an environment where the storage
temperature may go below -40°C (-40°F) or above 85°C (185°F). This
could damage the equipment. The equipment should be used under below
temperature.

18. Caution: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace
only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer,
discard used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions.

that can result in an EXPLOSION or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas;
A BATTERY subjected to extremely low air pressure that may result in an
EXPLOSION or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
20. RESTRICTED ACCESS AREA: The equipment should only be installed in a
Restricted Access Area.

1.1 Overview 產品簡介
EPC-U3233 is fanless palm-sized embedded PC powered by the 8th-gen Intel®
Core™ i series processor aimed at edge AI computing in industrial environment.
EPC-U3233 optimized the chassis design to achieve easy and rapid
configuration. EPC-U3233 combines diverse I/O ports and plenty M.2 expansion
slot to fulfill multi-functional edge computing ability. EPC-U3233 is
compatible with Win10 IoT and Linux Ubuntu and certified EMC class A, class
B standard, Safety (CB, UL, CCC, BSMI), RF (RED) to adapt to Edig computing
and industrail automation.
EPC-U3233 小型化嵌入式無風扇工業電腦系統，採用Intel®第八代CoreTM 平台，提供高
效能邊緣運算及影像處理能力。產品設計支援0~50℃工作溫度、12~24V DC寬壓輸入，
產品尺寸僅180 x 117 x 66mm約手掌大小，適合各種嚴苛及空間狹小的使用環境。產品
設計有2個USB 3.0、2個USB 2.0、RS-232、RS-422、RS-485專業應用接口，另外也支援2
個HDMI雙重影像輸出。EPC-U3233支援具備3個M.2接口，需求效能、及儲存資料量選

2.1 Module Installation in Top Cover Side
安裝上蓋側模組
1. Release the screws of the top ocver.
擰開螺絲後卸下上蓋。
2. Install the SIM, 2242/3042 M.2 module with the screws which in
accessory box, SODIMM by demand. Paste the relative the thermal pad to
the module(s).
依所需安裝SIM卡、2242/3042 M.2，使用配件盒中螺絲鎖固 、SODIMM模組，貼附
配件盒中模組相對應之散熱片。
3. Recover the top cover and secure the screws.
安裝上蓋，並鎖回上蓋螺絲。

2.2 Module Installation in Bottom Cover Side
安裝底蓋側模組
1. Release the screws of the bottom cover.
擰開螺絲後卸下底蓋
2. Install the M.2 module(s)by demand with the screws in the accessory
box, and paste the relative thermal pad.
安裝所需M.2模組，使用配件盒中螺絲鎖固，貼附配件盒中模組相對應之散熱片。
3. Recover the bottom cover and secure the screws.
裝回底蓋，並鎖回底蓋螺絲。
