1. Description:
The ADVBSVGM8 camera interface is the latest line of product from Advent.
This solution has two working modes.
1. Blind spot video interface mode which enables user to install Front Camera, Reverse Camera, Right Side Camera
and Left Side Camera. This will enable the driver to eliminate blind spots while driving and parking. (Power will be
provided to all camera's 12V 3A Max)
2. Video mode which enables user to install 1 Reverse camera and 3 video inputs which can be used for any kind of
RCA video inputs like Phone mirroring, DVD, TV etc. Modes can be switched by using OE key or external key to
switch sources.
*NOTE: Please refer to DIP setting for different settings of interface.

Reverse Camera and Guidelines shown on Cadillac
CUE 2016. Move according to data from steering
wheel position.
Only reverse camera can be chosen by selecting
the desired Dips if other camera's not needed.
Parking Sensor will be displayed with the reverse
guidelines and reverse camera.
Front Camera shown on Cadillac Cue 2016.
Triggered automatically after moving out from
Reverse gear to Drive for 5 sec. (Check Dip
settings)
Triggered automatically after turning off turn
signals and will be shown for 5 sec. (Check Dip
settings)
Left camera will be triggered when
the left turn signal is activated.
Left camera will turn off when turn
signal is turned off.
Turn signal is read from CAN so no
Power cable is needed from turn
lights.
Right camera will be triggered when
the right turn signal is activated.
Right camera will turn off when turn
signal is turned off.
Turn signal is read from CAN so no
Power cable is needed from turn
lights.

2. Interface Functions:
BSV Mode:
The Reverse Camera is automatically triggered when engaging the reverse gear of the car.
The front camera is automatically displayed for 5 seconds when user switches out of reverse gear. It will also
be displayed for 5 seconds after the turn signals are turned off. (Option to turn off show front camera after
turn signals using DIP6)
The Right and Left camera's will be triggered with the turn signals and will automatically turn off once turn
signals are turned off. (Option to select one side or both by selecting DIP1 and DIP2)
Video Mode:
Option to add 3 video inputs and 1 reverse camera or 360 view input. 3 Video inputs can be used for Phone
Mirroring, DVR, DVD, Digital TV etc. (Sound for video sources will need to be connected separately to AUX of
vehicle directly.
Video inputs can be selected by DIP1, 2, 3. Video source can be toggled using OE Voice key or can be toggled
using external switch.
Reverse video or 360 surround view can be manually inserted using the trigger wire "Trig-Rear". In cases
where user would like to add 360 surround view when using turn signals. In this case the trigger wire will
provide power to 360 surround view when turn signals are activated and show OE reverse when reverse gear
is engaged.

3. Installation:
Installation of this interface is very easy as it is completely plug and play. There is no need to open the radio to
insert any PCB.
All the installation is done behind the HMI Unit which on the 2016 models is usually located under the glove box.
Each car model has a different process to open the dashboard panel. (Please check the Car
manufacturer’s manuals to know how to open the dashboard and access the panels).
The Power harness and LVDS cable should be connected as shown below.

*NOTE: Make sure that the power harness and LVDS cable has been connected securely if not connected properly
there may be problems in power being sent to the interface.
In order to install the
interface you will need
to open the glove
compartment to gain
access to the HU/CD
unit. Once gaining access
you will need to remove
the main harness and
insert our harness in its
place and insert the OE
harness into our plug in
order to complete the T-
Harness.
You will need to connect
the LVDS video in the
same manner.
In order to know the
correct LVDS to connect
please remove one by
one to see which one of
them once removed
make the OE LCD go
black.
Remove the power harness and connect
our Power T-Harness here.
Remove the Blue LVDS cable and
connect to the camera interface box
and our LVDS cable in its place.

5. Camera Connection:
All cameras will be connected with the green wire. It can provide 12V/3A which is sufficient to supply
power for the 3 or 4 cameras.
*NOTE: Ground for the camera power should not be connected or noise may be seen on the display.

8. Other Uses of Interface and their DIP settings:
In case interface is used only for adding only Reverse Camera or external 360 Surround View System:
Interface Dip 1, 2, 3, 4 set to= UP (OFF)
Interface Dip 5 set to= DOWN (ON)
In case interface is used only for adding Front Camera and car is equipped with OE reverse camera:
Interface Dip 5 set to= UP (OFF) (This sets interface to show OE camera in reverse gear)
CAN Dip 1 set to= UP (OFF) (This sets interface to show Front camera when car is taken out of reverse
and put into drive)
In case interface is used for Front, Right and Left Camera and car is equipped with OE reverse camera:
Interface Dip 5 set to= UP (OFF) (This sets interface to show OE camera in reverse gear)
CAN Dip 1 set to= UP (OFF) (This sets interface to show Front camera when car is taken out of reverse
and put into drive)
Or
CAN Dip 1 set to= DOWN (ON) (If User desire to show front camera after turning off turn signals and
when taken out of reverse gear and put into drive)
*NOTE: All the cameras can be powered by the green wire [12V, Max 3A]. There will be power to the camera only in
the case of triggered state. In not triggered state it will carry 0V.
**NOTE: Incase the CAN code has changed in some car models(in some rare case) User can install the interface
without using the Power harness and connect the power directly to ACC and green wire given power separately for
triggering the camera's.
