Installation
• Any installation work must be undertaken by a
qualified electrician or competent person.
• T is ood must be installed in accordance wit
t e installation instructions and all measurements
ad ered to.
• If t e cooker ood is installed for use above a gas
appliance t en t e provision for ventilation must
be in accordance wit t e Gas Safety Code of
Practice BS.6172, BS.5440 and BS.6891 (natural
gas) and BS.5482 (LP gas) 1994, t e Gas Safety
(Installation & Use) Regulations, t e Building
Regulations issued by t e Dept. of t e
Environment, t e Building Standards (Scotland)
(Consolidated) Regulations issued by t e Scottis
Development Department.
• T e fan motor of t e cooker ood incorporates a
cut-out device, w ic will operate if t e cooker
ood is installed below t e minimum eig t
recommended in t e Tec nical Information
section, or if t e motor becomes over eated. If
t e cut-out device is activated, switc off t e motor
and allow t e ood to cool. T e cut-out device
will reset itself w en t e fan motor as cooled.
• It is dangerous to alter t e specifications or modify
t is product in any way.
• W en installed between adjoining wall cabinets,
t e cabinets must not over ang t e ob.
• If t e room w ere t e ood is to be used contains
a fuel burning appliance suc as a central eating
boiler t en its flue must be of t e room sealed or
balanced flue type.
• If ot er types of flue or appliances are fitted ensure
t at t ere is an adequate supply of air to t e room.
• W en t e ood is used in conjunction wit
appliances supplied wit energy ot er t an
electricity, t e negative pressure in t e room must
not exceed 0.04mbar to prevent fumes being
drawn back into t e room by t e ood.
• T e ducting system for t is appliance must not be
connected to any existing ventilation system w ic
is being used for any ot er purpose.
• Do not install above a cooker wit a ig level
grill.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
These warnings are provided in the interests of your safety. Ensure that you understand them all before
installing or using this appliance. Your safety is of paramount importance. If you are unsure about any of
the meanings of these warnings contact the Customer Care Department.
C ild Safety
• T e appliance is designed to be operated by
adults. C ildren s ould not be allowed to tamper
wit t e controls or play wit t e appliance.
During Use
• T is appliance is for domestic use only.
• Never leave frying pans unattended during use
as over- eated fats and oils mig t catc fire.
• Never do flambé cooking under t is cooker ood.
• Do not leave naked flames under t is ood.
Maintenance and Service
• T is appliance can be a fire azard if t e grease
and c arcoal filters are not cleaned or replaced
as recommended.
• Under no circumstances s ould you attempt to
repair t e appliance yourself. Repairs carried out
by inexperienced persons may cause injury or
serious malfunctioning. Refer to your local Service
Force Centre. Always insist on genuine spare
parts.

YOUR APPLIANCE
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
T is cooker ood is designed to extract unpleasant
odours from t e kitc en, it will not extract steam.
To obtain t e best performance it is advisable to switc
on t e ood a few minutes before you start cooking and
leave it running for approximately 15 minutes after
finis ing.
Coo er Hood Controls
V1. Pus to engage t e low speed, for use wit one
burner or simmering.
V2. Pus to engage t e medium speed, for normal
cooking up to four pans.
V3. Pus to engage t e ig speed, for use w en
frying or cooking foods wit strong odours.
L. Pus to switc on t e worktop illumination lamps.

T is cooker ood can be used to recirculate or extract
contaminated air.
Recirculation
T e cooker ood is supplied specified for use in t e
recirculation mode wit t e c arcoal filter fitted.
T e contaminated air is cleaned by passing t roug t e
filters and t an back into t e kitc en.
T e activated c arcoal filter absorbs odours arising from
cooking. In use it will slowly become saturated in grease
and less effective. T e filter normally requires c anging
after at least every t ree mont s or more frequently if
t e ood is used for more t an t ree ours per day.
Extraction
T e contamined air enters t e cooker ood passing
t roug t e grease filter and out t roug t e ducting into
t e atmosp ere.
W en used in t e extraction mode t e c arcoal filter is
not required and must be removed.
Never do flambé cooking under this
cooker hood.
Take extra care when frying and never
leave frying pans unattended during
use, as over-heated fats and oils can
catch fire.
Do not leave naked flames under the
cooker hood.
nsure the hood is switched on
before using the hob.
nsure heating areas on your hob are
covered with pots and pans when using
the hob and cooker hood
simultaneously.
nsure not to damage the charcoal filter
when cleaning or replacing as the activated
charcoal inside is saturated with grease,
which will stain if it comes into contact
with clothing or furnishings.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Before carrying out any maintenance or
cleaning isolate the cooker hood from the
mains supply.
The cooker hood must be kept clean, a build
up of grease or fat can be a fire hazard.
External Cleaning
T e metal casing, grille and c imney s ould be cleaned
at least once a mont to keep it looking like new. Wipe
over t e ood wit a soft clot wrung out in mild
soapy water and t en dry t oroug ly.
Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners as t ey
may scratc or damage t e surfaces.
Always wear protective gloves when cleaning
the hood.
Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
Never use excessive amounts of water when
cleaning particularly around the control panel.
Metal Grease Filter
T e metal grease filter s ould be cleaned at least every
mont . T e filter may be was ed by and using mild
soapy water, or can be mac ine was ed in a
dis was er.
To Remove the Grease Filter
Remove t e metal grease filter cassette by pus ing
inwardly on t e two steel andles; replace, making sure
t e andle as sprung back into position and is
completely visible.
Charcoal Filter
T e c arcoal filter cannot be cleaned, it s ould be
replaced approximately every t ree mont s or more often
if t e ood is used for more t an t ree ours per day.

To Remove the Charcoal Filter
Pus inwardly on t e two retaining clips to disengage
t e security fixing and remove.
This appliance can be a fire hazard if the
grease and charcoal filters are not
cleaned and replaced as recommended.
Wor top Lighting
T e lamps s ould be replaced wit a 220-240V 20W
alogen spot lamp.
To Remove the Lamps
Unscrew t e two screws to release t e metal surround.
Remove a lamp from t e older by pulling t e lamp
downwards.
W en fitting t e new lamp ensure t e two pins are
correctly inserted into t e slots in t e lamp older.
Charcoal filters, grease filters and lamps can be
obtained from your local Service Force Centre.

SOMETHING NOT WORKING
SERVICE AND SPARE PARTS
If, aving followed t ese instructions carefully, your cooker ood fails to work properly please carry out
t e following c ecks.
Symptom
The coo er hood will not start
The coo er hood is not wor ing effectively
The coo er hood has switched off during
operation
If after all t ese c ecks, t e problem persists,
contact your local Service Force Centre,
quoting t e model and serial number.
Please note t at it will be necessary to
provide proof of purc ase for any
in-guarantee service calls.
Solution
• C eck t e ood is connected to t e electricity supply.
• C eck t at t e fan speed control is set to 1, 2 or 3.
• T e fan speed is set ig enoug for t e task.
• T e grease filter is clean.
• T e kitc en is adequately vented to allow t e entry
of fres air.
• If set up for recirculation, c eck t at t e c arcoal
filter is still effective.
• If set up for extraction, c eck t at t e ducting and
outlets are not blocked.
• T e safety cut-out device as been tripped.
• Tum off t e ob and t en wait for t e device to reset.
In-guarantee customers should ensure
that the above chec s have been made as
the engineer will ma e a charge if the fault
is not a mechanical or electrical
brea down.

Standard Guarantee Conditions
We, AEG, undertake t at if wit in 12 mont s of t e date of t e purc ase t is AEG built-in appliance or any part
t ereof is proved to be defective by reason only of faulty workmans ip or materials, t e company will, at our option,
repair or replace t e same FREE OF ANY CHARGE for labour, materials and carriage on condition t at:
• T e appliance as been correctly installed and used only on t e electrical supply stated on t e rating plate.
• T e appliance as been used for normal domestic purposes only, and in accordance wit t e manufacturer’s
operating and maintenance instructions.
• T e appliance as not been serviced, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered wit by any person not
aut orised by us.
• All service work under t is guarantee must be undertaken by an AEG Service Force Centre.
• Any appliances or defective parts replaced s all become t e property of t is company.
Home visits are made between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Visits may be available outside t ese ours
in w ic case a premium will be c arged.
EXCLUSIONS
This Guarantee does not cover:
• Damage or calls resulting from transportation, improper use or neglect, t e replacement of any lig t bulbs or
removable parts of glass or plastic.
• Costs incurred for calls to put rig t appliances improperly installed or calls to appliances outside t e United
Kingdom.
• Appliances found to be in use wit in a commercial environment, plus t ose w ic are t e subject of rental
agreements.
• Products of AEG manufacture w ic were not marketed by AEG. T is guarantee is in addition to your statutory
and legal rig ts.
EUROPEAN GUARANTEE
If you move to anot er country wit in Europe t en your guarantee moves wit you to your new ome subject to t e
following qualifications:
• T e guarantee starts from t e date you first purc ased your product.
• T e guarantee is for t e same period and to t e same extent for labour and parts as exists in t e new country
of use for t is brand or range of products.
• T e product is installed and used in accordance wit our instructions and is only used domestically, i.e. a
normal ouse old.
• T e product is installed taking into account regulations in your new country.

Electrical Connection
Before connecting to t e mains supply ensure

ood.
T is appliance is fitted wit a 3 core mains
cable and must be permanently connected to
t e electricity supply via a double-pole switc
aving 3mm minimum contact gap on eac
pole. A Switc ed Fuse Connection Unit to
BS1363 Part 4, fitted wit a 3 Amp fuse, is a
recommended mains supply connection
