Safety instructions
This appliance is to be used solely as a household appliance. It has
beenmanufacturedaccordingtothe international safety and quality
standards.Notethatthesafetydevicesalonearenotcapableof
eliminating all accident risks. It is therefore very important to carefully
readalltheoperating instructions, recommendations andwarningsprior
to installation and use of the appliance. Note in particular the text
paragraphswiththedanger triangle design,toavoiddamagesto
persons or objects. Keep this instruction booklet in a safe place: this
booklet should always accompany the appliance at such time as it is
soldorgiventootherpersonsforuse.
Installation and service
•Any electrical installation of the cooker hood must be carried out by
a qualified electrician and the hood itself must be installed by
someonewith experience.Installationmadebyan unqualified
person can lead to loss of function of the cooker hood and possible
damagetopersonand and/orproperty.
•The cooker hood must be at least 60 cm above electric hobs or
electric ranges, or at least 70 cm above gas burners or gas ranges.
•Ensurethat the power cable isnot damaged during installation.
•The cooker hood is only in stand by mode unless the plug or the
fuse is disconnected.
•Thecookerhoodcannotbeconnectedtofluesof other appliances
that run on energy sources other than electricity. Please, keep to the
provisionsofofficialdirectivesregardingfumedischarge.

Use of cooker hood
•This appliance is for domestic use only in a normal household.
•Neverleaveany deep-frying,meltingfat, paraffinoranyother
inflammableliquidunattendedon the hob. Intheeventoffire:
Immediately switch off the cooker hood and the cooker. Note! Cover
the fire. Never use water.
•Neverdoanyflambécookingunderneath the cooker hood.Itcan
causeafire.Remember that overheated fatmayspontaneously
ignite.Neverleavethefryingpan unattended.
•It is essential that the grease filter is regularly cleaned to help avoid
fat dripping on to the hot zone and causing a fire. Read the section
on “MaintenanceandCleaning”intheinstructionbook.
Disposal
•Preventaccidentswhendisposingofyour cooker hood. Disconnect
the power plug from the wall socket and cut the power cord at the
hoodinlet.Contactyourlocalauthorityforinformation on where to
disposethecookerhood.
Description of
the cooker hood
Functions
Therearetwo possible
systems:
•Extraction of air to the
outsideusinganoptional
ventingkitandevacuation duct.
•Recirculationusinganoptional
charcoalfilter.
The air outlet must not be connected to chimney flues or
combustion gas ducts. The air outlet must under no circumstances
beconnectedtoventilationducts for rooms inwhichfuel-burning
appliancesareinstalled.
Accessories

Introduction
Extractor version
•The hood is supplied as an extractor unit and can also be used with
a filtering function by fitting one charcoal filter (special accessory).
•You will need original AEG charcoal filter for this function (see
Special Accessories).
•The unit features two outlet holes, one of which Ais located on the
top of the unit while the other Bis located on the rear.
•To connect up the hose, you should first fit the bayonet-mounting
flange C(Ø120 mm) on the outlet required (if using the top outlet, fix
the flange in place using the screw supplied as shown in Fig. 1).
Close off the unused hole using the bayonet fitting caps D.
•Warning! If is decided to use the rear outlet hole B, first remove the
sponge Ethat closes that hole. Fig. 2.

Using the cooker hood
The control panel
•Thehoodis fitted with one motor having several speed. Best results
areobtainedbyusingalowspeedfornormalconditionsandhigh
speedwhenodoursare more concentrated. Turnthehoodona few
minutesbeforeyoustart cooking then you will get an underpressure
in the kitchen. It should be left on after cooking for about 15 minutes
oruntilallodourshavedisappeared. The control switches arelocated
on the unit’s front panel:
A: Mainswitch,hoodon/off.
B: Start and choice of motor speed 1-2-3-1-2.........
C: Indicatesspeed1(LED).
D: Indicatesspeed2(LED).
E: Indicatesspeed3(LED).
F: IndicatesIntensivespeed(LED).
G: Intensivespeedon/off.TheIntensivespeedrunsfor5minutes:
- If the hood is on when the Intensive speed is activated, the
hoodreverttopreviousspeedafter5minutes.
-Ifthehoodis off when theIntensivespeedisactivated,the hood
will automaticly be turned off after 5 minutes.
To interrupt the Intensive speed, press button A or B.
H: Lighton/off.
Shouldthehoodorthecontrolsfailtooperate:disconnect the power supply
for at least 5 seconds, then turn the hood back on again.
Correct ventilation
If the cooker hood is to work correctly there must be an underpressure
in the kitchen. It is important to keep the kitchen windows closed and
haveawindowin an adjacentroomopen.
Important to know
Not applicable for recirculation. Great care must be taken if the hood is
used at the same time as a burner or fireplace (e.g. gas, diesel, coal or
wood heaters, water heaters, etc.), as the hood will expel air which is
required by these other appliances. Attend to it by opening a window.
Thenegativepressureintheroommustnotexceed0,04mbarto
preventfumesbeingdrawnbackintotheroombythecookerhood.

Maintenance and cleaning
Disconnectthecookerhoodfromthepowersupplypriorto
cleaningtheappliance,eitherbyremovingtheplug from the mains
orremovingthefuse.
Cleanthe filter regularly. The greasedeposits in the filter and
dischargetubearefire hazards where ahotplate(oranotherheat
source) is left on by error.
Cleaning the hood
Clean the outside of the hood using a damp cloth and a mild detergent.
Neverusecorrosive,abrasiveorflammable cleaningproducts.
Cleaning the grease filters
Cleanthefilter everymonthorevery
othermonthaccordingtohowmuch
the hood is used. The cleaner the
filters, the more grease they collect.
Toremovethefilters (Fig. 4):
•First of all, push the stop Qon the
metal grease filter Nback, and
then extract the filter by pulling
downward.Fig. 4.
Thefilterismadeofaluminiumwires
on which the grease collects. Clean
the filter in hot water using a
detergent,orin a dishwasher.Letthe
filter dry before putting it back. Note
that a dishwasher may discolour the
filter.
Changing and cleaning the charcoal filter
The charcoal filter should only be used if you want to use the hood in
itsfilteringfunction.Thecharcoalfiltersabsorbsmellsandodours.
Unlikeothercharcoalfilters,theLONGLIFEcharcoalfiltercanbe
cleanedandreactivated.Atnormalusethefiltershouldbecleaned
every second month. The best way to clean the filter is in the
dishwasher.Usenormaldetergentandchoose the highesttemperature
(65ºC). Wash the filter separately so that no food parts gets stuck on
thefilter and later causes bad odours. Toreactivatethe charcoal, the
filtershouldbedriedinanovenfor10minutes with a temperature of
maximum 100ºC.

Changing the light bulb
•Disconnect the unit from the mains power supply.
•Removethegreasefilters.
•Replace the old light bulb with a new light bulb of the same kind.
•Refitthegreasefilters.
•If the light does not come on, make sure the bulb has been inserted
in correctly before contacting the technical assistance service.

If the cooker hood will not operate
Check the following prior to calling after sales
service:
•Has a fuse burnt? Check both fuses and replace if necessary.
•Isthepowersupplypluginsertedproperlyinthepoweroutlet?
•Hastheflexibletubebeenmountedcorrectly?
•Istheanti-greasefilterclean?
•Are the light bulbs intact and soundly fitted?
If the problem persists, contact the sales center, the after sales service
center or an authorized technician. Only use original spare parts.
Under no circumstances carry out modifications to the cooker hood
which may cause harm to persons and/or damage objects.
After sales service and spare parts
It is important to always indicate the appliance product number and
modeltypewhenrequestingafter sales service or orderingspareparts.
This information is indicated on the motor casing label.
Guarantee conditions
GuaranteeConditions
AEGofferthefollowingguaranteetothefirstpurchaserofthisappliance.
1.Theguaranteeisvalid for 12 months commencingwhentheappliance
ishandedovertothefirstretailpurchaser,whichmustbeverifiedby
purchaseinvoiceor similardocumentation.Theguaranteedoes not
covercommercialuse.
2.The guarantee covers all parts or components which fail due to faulty
workmanshiporfaultymaterials. Theguaranteedoesnotcover
applianceswheredefectsorpoor performance are duetomisuse,
accidentaldamage,neglect,faultyinstallation,unauthorised
modificationorattemptedrepair,commercialuseorfailure to observe
requirementsandrecommendationssetoutintheinstructionbook.This
guaranteedoesnotcoversuchpartsaslight bulbs, removable glass-
ware or plastic.
3. Shouldguaranteerepairsbenecessarythepurchasermust inform the
nearestcustomerservice office(manufacturer`sserviceor authorised
agent). AEG reserves the right to stipulate the place of the repair
(i.e.the customer`s home, place of installation or AEG workshop).
4.Theguaranteeor free replacement includesbothlabourandmaterials.
5.Repairscarriedoutunder guarantee do notextendtheguarantee
periodforthe appliance.Partsremovedduringguaranteerepairs
become the property of AEG.
6.Thepurchaser`sstatutoryrightsarenotaffectedbythisguarantee.

Installation
Unpacking
Checkthatthecookerhoodisnotdamaged. Transportation damages
shouldimmediatelybereportedtothetransportcompany.Damages,
faults and missing parts should immediately be reported to the retailer.
Dispose carefully of the packaging material so that it is out of the way
ofsmallchildren.
Position
Thecookerhoodshould be mounted freelyhangingonthewall.The
cooker hood must be at least 60 cm above electric hobs or electric
ranges, or at least 70 cm above gas burners or gas ranges.
Thecookerhoodcannotbeconnectedtofluesofother
appliances that run on energy sources other than electricity.
Please,keeptothe provisions ofofficialdirectivesregardingfume
discharge.

•Make the holes on the bottom of the cupboard (2), using
thedrillingtemplate(1).
Provideanholealso for exhausting pipe (4) ONLY if is decided to
usethehoodinExhaustingversion(3).
•From inside the cupboard, insert the 4 supplied screws (5) and
tightenthemintheappropriateholesontheappliance.

•Sign a centerline onto the wall (1).
Fit the template onto the wall (2).
•Fix the drilling template to the wall.
•Make 3 Ø8mm holes in the wall (3), 2 at upper points, 1 as desired
at lower points.
•Insert the three Ø8mm expansion plugs into the wall (4).
•Insert 2 5x45 screws (5) but do not tighten them completely, hang
thehood(6).
•Adjust the unit so that it is positioned at a right angle to the wall by
turning the two screws on lower side (7).
•Tightenthe2upperscrews(8).
•From inside the hood, insert the third 5x45 screw into the lower hole
(9) andtighten(10).
