Aeon Labs Micro Motor Controller
(In-Wall Z-Wave Motor Controller)
Introduction:
The Aeon Labs Micro Motor Controller is a low-cost Z-Wave
motor controller specifically use to enable Z-Wave
comman an control (up/ own) for existing win ow
covering motors.
The wireless mo ule is powere from the mains supply an
is a three-wire esign which requires a neutral connection.
In the event of power failure, non-volatile memory retains
all programme information relating to the units operating
status.
It also is a repeater in the Z-Wave network. Acting as a
bri ge for communication, it will forwar Z-Wave comman
messages to their estinations if the originating controller is
out of range from the estination no e.
By taking a vantage of the Z-Wave mesh network,
comman s can be route to their estination via
interme iary “listening” Z-Wave pro ucts. Pro ucts that
are Z-Wave certifie can be use an communicate with
other Z-Wave certifie evices.
In-Wall Electrical Installation Instructions:
IMPORTANT: A license electrician with knowle ge an
un erstan ing of electrical systems an electrical safety
shoul complete the electrical installation insi e the main
circuit box (usually locate outsi e of your house).
IMPORTANT: The electricity to the circuit must be shut off
uring installation for safety an to ensure that wires are
not shortcircuite uring insallation which will cause
amage to the Micro Mo ule.
The Aeon Labs Micro Motor Controller must first be
powere by a 3-wire system in or er to operate. The wiring
iagram is as follows:
Z-Wave Networ Instructions:
The Aeon Labs Micro Motor Controller must be paire
(inclu e ) into a Z-Wave network before it can receive Z-
Wave comman s to turn on/off/ im an report its energy
usage. The Motor Controller can only communicate to
evices within it’s own Z-Wave network.
Note: The LED on the Micro Motor Controller will blink if it
is currently not paire into a Z-Wave network.
•Adding/Including/Pairing the Micro Motor
Controller into a Z-Wave Networ
1. Press the button labele “Inclu e” on the Aeon Labs
Minimote to begin the Z-Wave inclusion process.
Note: To inclu e the Aeon Labs Micro Motor
Controller with other controllers, please consult the
operation manual for these controllers on how to
inclu e Z-Wave pro ucts into an existing network.
For instructions on select partner gateways, visit

2. While the Micro Motor Controller is powere in a 3-
wire system, press the button locate near the Status
In ication LED. Or alternatively, the external
switch/button control can be presse 6 times in quick
succession.
Troubleshooting: If the Aeon Labs Micro Motor Controller
was not successfully inclu e into any Z-Wave network, the
LED will be blinking slowly continually. If the Aeon Labs
Micro Motor Controller was successfully inclu e to a Z-
Wave network, the Status In ication LED will either be soli
on or off ( epen ing on if the switch is on or off) 10
secon s after the button was last presse .
•Removing/Resetting the Micro Motor Controller
from your Z-Wave Networ
1. Press the button labele “Remove” on the Aeon Labs
Minimote Stick to begin the Z-Wave removal process.

operation manual for these controllers on how to
inclu e Z-Wave pro ucts into an existing network.

Controller.

controlling the Motor Controller.

Controller will spin the motor up/ own. A hol
an release of the button will stop the Motor
Controller.
•Change Mode on the External Switch/Button Control
The Aeon Labs Micro Motor Controller by efault is set to
be controlle via 2-state (flip/flop) external wall switch.
Pushing the button 6 times in quick succession on the Micro
Motor Controller will swap between this efault mo e an
the momentary push button external wall switch mo e.

Warranty
Aeon Labs warrants to the original purchaser of Pro ucts
that for the Warranty Perio (as efine below), the
Pro ucts will be free from material efects in materials an
workmanship. The foregoing warranty is subject to the
proper installation, operation an maintenance of the
Pro ucts in accor ance with installation instructions an
the operating manual supplie to Customer. Warranty
claims must be ma e by Customer in writing within thirty
(30) ays of the manifestation of a problem. Aeon Labs' sole
obligation un er the foregoing warranty is, at Aeon Labs'
option, to repair, replace or correct any such efect that
was present at the time of elivery, or to remove the
Pro ucts an to refun the purchase price to Customer.
The "Warranty Perio " begins on the ate the Pro ucts is
elivere an continues for 12 months.
Any repairs un er this warranty must be con ucte by an
authorize Aeon Labs service representative an un er
Aeon Labs’ RMA policy. Any repairs con ucte by
unauthorize persons shall voi this warranty.
Exclu e from the warranty are problems ue to acci ents,
acts of Go , civil or military authority, civil isturbance, war,
strikes, fires, other catastrophes, misuse, misapplication,
storage amage, negligence, electrical power problems, or
mo ification to the Pro ucts or its components.
Aeon Labs oes not authorize any person or party to
assume or create for it any other obligation or liability in
connection with the Pro ucts except as set forth herein.
Aeon Labs will pass on to Customer all manufacturers’
Material warranties to the extent that they are transferable,
but will not in epen ently warrant any Material.
Customer must prepay shipping an transportation charges
for returne Pro ucts, an insure the shipment or accept
the risk of loss or amage uring such shipment an
transportation. Aeon Labs will ship the repaire or
replacement pro ucts to Customer freight prepai .
Customer shall in emnify, efen , an hol Aeon Labs an
Aeon Labs’ affiliates, sharehol ers, irectors, officers,
employees, contractors, agents an other representatives
harmless from all eman s, claims, actions, causes of action,
procee ings, suits, assessments, losses, amages, liabilities,
settlements, ju gments, fines, penalties, interest, costs an
expenses (inclu ing fees an isbursements of counsel) of
every kin (i) base upon personal injury or eath or injury
to property to the extent any of the foregoing is
proximately cause either by a efective pro uct (inclu ing
strict liability in tort) or by the negligent or willful acts or
omissions of Customer or its officers, employees,
subcontractors or agents, an /or (ii) arising from or relating
to any actual or allege infringement or misappropriation of
any patent, tra emark, mask work, copyright, tra e secret
or any actual or allege violation of any other intellectual
property rights arising from or in connection with the
pro ucts, except to the extent that such infringement exists
as a result of Aeon Labs‘ manufacturing processes.
IN NO EVENT SHALL AEON LABS BE LIABLE FOR ANY
INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF
PROFITS, REVENUE, OR USE INCURRED BY CUSTOMER OR
ANY THIRD PARTY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION IN CONTRACT,
OR TORT, OR OTHERWISE EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE
POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. AEON LABS’ LIABILITY
AND CUSTOMER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY CAUSE OF
ACTION ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT
OR THE SALE OR USE OF THE PRODUCTS, WHETHER BASED
ON NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, BREACH OF WARRANTY,
BREACH OF AGREEMENT, OR EQUITABLE PRINCIPLES, IS
EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO, AT AEON LABS’ OPTION,
REPLACEMENT OF, OR REPAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE
PRICE FOR THAT PORTION OF PRODUCTS WITH RESPECT TO
WHICH DAMAGES ARE CLAIMED. ALL CLAIMS OF ANY KIND
ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT OR THE
