We would firstly like to thank you for having chosen our products.
We are confident that this product will fully meet your expectations and provide you complete satisfaction.
This manual is intended to help you understand the product and use it safely and efficiently at all times; it is an integral part of the
product and therefore must be kept close at hand for easy reference at any time; it must moreover be delivered together with the
product should this be sold or hired to other users, in accordance with local requirements.
The manual exclusively refers to operation of the product called:
TWIN DISC CENTRIFUGAL SPREADER
model «XDI
1500/2000/3000»
hereinafter referred to simply as the machine, and therefore does not apply to other machines, even if these are similar.
The machine has been designed and manufactured in Italy (Europe), in compliance with the relevant and harmonised standards, by:

hereinafter called the manufacturer.
All normative references are described in the EC declaration of conformity enclosed.
The manufacturer’s priorities are quality and machine safety.
Development, design, construction, testing and inspection of the machine comply with the manufacturer’s quality management system,
certified in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:08.
The machine is safe and reliable only if used in complete compliance with the instructions and normal operating conditions (intended
and allowed use) described in this manual.
Any other use or failure to observe the specified safety instructions for operation, maintenance and repairs are considered “improper
use” and will void the warranty. In such cases, the manufacturer declines all liability, attributing to the user all obligations due to
damage or injuries to itself or third parties, members of the public or the environment.
This manual provides detailed instructions on how to use the machine, as well as on maintenance, and is consequently called the user
and maintenance manual. Correct use and appropriate maintenance of the machine will guarantee normal operating conditions, and
ensure efficiency, reliability, dependability and safety throughout its working life.
All our products reflect the latest technological evolutions, legislative updates and continuous improvements at the time of being
introduced onto the market. If any differences or other problems that may create even the smallest doubt are found when reading this

01 - INTRODUCTION
The machine must be used, maintained and stored in accordance with the operating conditions described in this manual. Other
operating conditions not described in this manual, or described incompletely (i.e. not fully clear due to the user’s level of knowledge or
poor familiarity with the language used), must never be adopted, as these represent “improper use” of the product.
Never use non-original spare parts, nor repair worn or damaged components (these must be replaced with original spare parts) or
make even the smallest modifications to the machine. The machine can be used in accordance with local regulations, including traffic
rules, only by adult operators who have suitable professional training and mental-physical ability.

2. GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
This section provides detailed information on all the rules to be respected when using the machine.
These rules do not however exempt users of the machine from having to comply with local traffic regulations (only products approved
for driving on public roads) and local requirements in force on occupational health and safety.
2.1. SYMBOLS USED
Whenever the following symbols are shown - either used in this manual or on the stickers affixed to the machine - the related
instructions must be followed, as these are important for the safety of operators, the environment and the public.
DANGER
This symbol, together with the word DANGER, highlights an imminent situation of danger
that, if not avoided, may cause serious injuries and death.
WARNING
This symbol, together with the word WARNING, highlights a potentially dangerous
situation that, if not avoided, may cause serious injuries or death.
CAUTION
This symbol, together with the word CAUTION, highlights a potentially dangerous situation
that, if not avoided, may cause minor or serious injuries.
The use of these symbols together with other written messages is aimed at making users more aware of the issue and above all
ensuring it is not underestimated.
IMPORTANT
This symbol, together with the word IMPORTANT, highlights instructions or specific
procedures that, if not strictly observed, may damage or destroy the machine, the work

2.2. DEFINITION OF OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS
In order to more precisely describe the skills and responsibilities of users and maintenance personnel, the following definitions are
used:
SYMBOL JOB TITLE
General labourer: operator without specific skills, only able to carry out simple tasks under the supervision
of qualified technicians.
Hoisting and handling equipment operator: operator authorised to use hoisting and handling
equipment and machines (strictly following the manufacturer’s instructions), in compliance with the laws in
force in the country where the machine is used.
Level 1 machine operator: operator without specific skills, only able to carry out simple tasks, in particular
operating the machine using the buttons positioned on the push-button panel, loading and unloading
the materials used during production, with the protection devices installed and active; not authorised to
operate the machine using hold-to-run control.
Level 2 machine operator: personnel able to carry out the same tasks as a level 1 operator, as well as
operate the machine using hold-to-run control, typically carrying out simple functions such as starting or
resuming production following interruptions, and adjustments.
Mechanical maintenance technician: qualified technician able to operate the machine in normal
conditions, operate it using hold-to-run control with the protection devices deactivated, and carry out work
on the mechanical parts for adjustments, maintenance and repairs. Typically not authorised to work
on live electrical systems.
Electrical maintenance technician: qualified technician able to operate the machine in normal
conditions, operate it using hold-to-run control with the protection devices deactivated, and carry out
electrical work for adjustments, maintenance and repairs. Able to operate inside electrical cabinets
and junction boxes when power is connected.
Manufacturer’s technical personnel: qualified technician provided by the manufacturer to carry out
complex operations in special situations or, in any case, when agreed on with the user. Depending on the
case, the technician will have specialist mechanical and/or electrical and/or electronic and/
or software expertise.

2.3. OBLIGATIONS
2.3.1. PURCHASER’S OBLIGATIONS
The purchaser is solely responsible for the machine and shall ensure that it is operated and serviced only by operators with the right
aptitude for the task and in good mental and physical condition.
The purchaser shall:
s¬ provide suitable resources to ensure operators and maintenance technicians adequate training and updates in accordance with the
requirements in force, including regulations on occupational health and safety and the use of equipment and substances.
s¬ draft specific safety procedures describing the required prevention and protection measures established within the organisation.
s¬ provide operators suitable clothing and all necessary personal protective equipment.
WARNING!
The purchaser and user shall provide operators and maintenance technicians suitable resources
for training and updates, prepare the necessary risks assessment documents and specific safety
procedures for the organisation, provide suitable clothing and all personal protective equipment
envisaged, together with anything else specified by the local occupational health and safety
requirements in force.
WARNING!
The purchaser and user must notify the manufacturer or the dealer if discovering any defects,
damage and worn parts, malfunctions of the machine’s protection devices, or cases of presumed
danger or near-misses.
WARNING!
The machine must never be operated without the protection devices.
2.3.2. OPERATOR’S OBLIGATIONS
During design and development of the machine, the manufacturer has determined its main objective to be the safety:
s¬ of operators,
s¬ of the environment,
s¬ of the public.
Observing and complying with the instructions provided in this manual, together with careful and thorough maintenance, will ensure
correct operation and long life of the machine, and limit operating costs. Failure to observe the information described in this manual,
negligence during operation, incorrect use of the machine and unauthorised modifications may lead the manufacturer to void the
warranty provided on the machine, in accordance with applicable law.
For any repairs or servicing involving quite complex operations, always contact specialist personnel from an authorised service centre,
or alternatively contact the manufacturer directly for prompt and precise technical service and anything else needed to return the
machine to perfect working condition.
This manual is an integral part of the machine and must always accompany the machine when moved or sold. It must
be kept in a safe place known to supervising personnel. Such supervising personnel are responsible for keeping the manual in good
condition for reference throughout the life of the machine. If damaged or lost immediately contact the manufacturer or your nearest
dealer for a copy. Machine operators and maintenance technicians must comply with the relevant standards in force, including local
occupational health and safety requirements.

The manufacturer declines all liability for failure to observe the rules on safety and accident prevention. Operators should read the
following general safety and accident prevention rules.

Danger, Warning, Caution.
All the instructions highlighted by the specific terms and symbols in this manual and on the stickers affixed to the tractor
MUST be observed at all times.

Constructional features.
The machine’s constructional features must never be modified. The machine has been designed in accordance with the
standards in force on construction and use in normal operating conditions.

Tractor.
The tractor used must comply with the standards in force and must be correctly configured for hitching the machine. All the
instructions provided using the specific terms and symbols in the tractor’s operating manual and on the stickers affixed to
the tractor MUST be observed.

Driving on private and public roads.
When driving on the road, the fertilizer spreader must be hitched to the tractor as described in this manual. Incorrect
hitching may affect the vehicle’s stability when braking. Moreover, all local road rules in the country in question must be
obeyed. Before driving, all moving parts must be checked and secured in the correct position, the machine must be clean,
correctly serviced and in perfect working condition, and all lights must be working (headlights, indicators, brake lights...).

Children, minors and people with disabilities.
Always keep children, minors or people with disabilities away from the machine during operation or maintenance. It is
prohibited to approach the machine even when this is parked and stationary.
6Passengers.
The machine cannot be used to transport passengers. The transport of people on the machine or the tractor is prohibited.

Maintenance.
The operator is for ensuring the maintenance and reliability of the machine. Maintenance must be performed by trained
and authorised personnel in accordance with the instructions provided in the user and maintenance manual. Never carry
out checks, maintenance or repairs before having switched off the engine, stabilised or parked the machine on suitable and
even ground.

Loans.
The machine must never be given on loan to third parties or people who are not trained in accordance with the requirements
in force. In such cases, the owner may be considered liable for any accidents.
9Carbon monoxide.
Never start the tractor’s engine or operate it indoors; this may cause poisoning and death.

Chemical reactions.
The products to be spread may cause dangerous chemical reactions. Never wash the machine even when very small amounts
of product to be spread are present; water or detergents may cause irritation to the skin and to the respiratory tracts,
inhalation of toxic substances, asphyxia and suffocation, fires and explosions.

Using on downhill sections.
The machine may not be used on slopes exceeding 5°. Never drive downhill with the tractor in neutral or the clutch pedal
depressed. Check the brakes regularly and always change down to first gear before travelling downhill. Use the engine
brake. Always travel on even and solid ground.
