Radiant Globe Combination
Heater, Light and Exhaust Fan
Threesome
6500ATP
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing this Threesome product by Gerard Industries Pty Ltd. Threesome
combines heat globes, an exhaust fan and light, to provide gentle radiant heat, clean air and
a bright light from one compact, stylish unit. All functions are separately controlled from a
supplied switch plate for convenient ngertip control.
You can be assured of years of trouble free operation by installing your Threesome carefully
according to instructions. Please read all instructions before commencing installation.
Threesome can be mounted in any room that requires instant, direct, radiant heat to ward
off winter chills. The light and fan have separate switching, making it suitable for bathrooms,
dressing & change rooms.
BV`SSa][S
SUITABLE LOCATIONS
The Threesome has been designed especially for cavity type ceilings. Flat roof installation is
NOT recommended.
Threesome must not be mounted in areas subject to direct splashing. Threesome must
be mounted in the horizontal position only. Unsuitable for ‘cathedral’ or ‘raked’ ceilings.
Threesome comes with 4 Infra-red Heat Globes which emit harmless radiant heat.
Threesome is best positioned directly above the area requiring warmth. Before you start,
make sure your ceiling has at least 280mm clearance from the roof (see diagram 2).
WHERE TO LOCATE
Radiant globe heaters are not designed to heat entire rooms. They provide instant,
concentrated heat to persons standing directly below the heat lamps. Therefore, units should
be located over the area where drying off takes place, not directly over a shower
or bath.
These heaters are not designed to be left on for extended periods of time, as this could
cause overheating and premature failure. Threesome units, even those without fans, should
not be covered or installed in situations which restrict the natural ventilation of the units for
cooling purposes.
Ceiling insulation should be kept well clear of the units (at least 100mm). For optimum
performance, models with exhaust fans should be installed in areas with good ventilation,
to enable fresh air to ow into the room. It is recommended that there is at least a 500mm
clearance above the unit, and that the ceiling space is adequately ventilated to allow
appropriate air ow through the unit. Any restrictions on return air entering the room, or
exhausted air escaping from the ceiling space, will impair effectiveness and may contribute to
premature failure.
RADIANT HEAT
Threesome requires no warm up period because of its efcient, Radiant Heat Globes. Heat
is directed at you for an instant warmth you can feel, rather than gradually warming the entire
room. Because of this, Threesome only needs to be turned ON when you are in the room.
MOUNTING
1. Using this card in its open state as a template, position it
in the area you want your Threesome and draw around
the edges with a pencil to mark the hole cutting size.
BE SURE TO CHECK ABOVE THE CEILING FOR
MINIMUM SPACE OF 280mm (for optimum performance
allow 500mm or more clearance) AND THE LOCATION
OF THE CEILING JOISTS. Ensure there is a minimum
of 100mm clear space between the Threesome unit and
any ceiling insulation.
2. Use a saw to cut the section along the drawn lines.
3. The lamp surround easily unclips from the main body
by lifting gently from any side. Remove it and the 4 heat
globes to avoid damage from knocks and vibrations.
Now insert your Threesome with both side springs pulled
inwards so that the body can pass through the hole
without damaging the plaster. Return springs to original
position to x body securely to the ceiling.
NOTE: Springs are adjusted to suit either 10mm or 13mm
plasterboard ceiling.
4. Clip the lamp surround back onto the body making sure
both clips snap into place. Fit retaining spring as shown
in diagram.
5. The lamp surround has been shaped to position heat
globes correctly in the main body. Screw the four, large
heat globes through the lamp surround holes, tightening
rmly to ensure a good electrical contact. DO NOT
FORCE OR OVER-TIGHTEN. Screw centre light globe
into place. Centre lampholder is designed to accept 100
Watt (max), reector type, R80, screw in light globes.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
• The Threesome is not intended for use by young children or inrm persons without supervision
.
• Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Ensure that the switch is in the off position when changing the heat lamp (globe) or light globe.
• Ensure that the wattage of a replacement globe is the same as the globes supplied with the unit.
• Ensure the grille is free of objects, dust build up, etc. Make sure that the air ow through the
grille is not inhibited.
ELECTRICIANS’ WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
Your Threesome requires a 230/240 Volt, 50Hz electrical supply. All electrical work must
be carried out by a qualied electrician and installed in accordance with relevant Electrical
Wiring Regulations.
Your new Threesome comes with all required switches and mounting plate.
WIRING DETAILS

the backing plate in the desired order beforehand.

Threesome and put aside.

switches activate properly, according to their marked function.
