10.TROUBLESHOOTING
Basic Troubleshooting
Most common causes for display status message: "Not Running","Pressure Fault" or "Call Service"
1. The AirMaid system is not properly interlocked with the exhaust fan. This can cause an error state every evening
when the ventilation is shut down, persisting into the following morning, even after the ventilation is started
back up.
2. Hood filters are not sitting properly in place, thereby reducing the static pressure in the duct which can cause the
generator to shut itself down.
3. The static pressure in the generator (and probably the bleed airflow through) are not within specifications. Check
for the correct operation of any control or fire damper installed.
For all other display messages, please refer to Section #7 , "The AirMaid Alarm Panel".
Basic Troubleshooting Flowchart
ON THE GENERATOR: Is the main power switch in the
ON position and is the switch lamp glowing orange?
Are the static pressure (and airflow) correct?
(Insufficient static pressure can prevent the generator
from starting. The static pressure must be at least
-.08 inHO for the built-in Pressure Safety Switch to
energize the generator).
Troubleshooting completed.
Turn off the main power switch and remove the
service hatch on the bottom of the generator. Are all
electrodes of the CGC Cell(s) free from damage?
Please perform the steps indicated in the product manual, Paragraph 4 of Section 6, “Commissioning”to execute a
functional check of the CGC Cell(s)”. Do all CGC Cells operate properly?
Ensure the Alarm Panel is supplied with 120 VAC.
Check its status message with those listed in the
product manual, Section #7, "The AirMaid Alarm
Panel". (The Alarm Panel controls the power supplied
out to the generator). Is the alarm panel displaying:
"Not Running", "Pressure Fault" or "Call Service"?
Ensure the exhaust fan is running.
Ensure that the grease filters are properly installed in
kitchen hoods.
Adjust the supply air damper, if installed.
In grease applications, a fire or control damper may
not be opening properly. Check its fusible links or
