Important Safety Instructions
IMPORTANT!
This unit comes with separate installation instructions for use by an
appropriately qualified installer. Do not try to install the air conditioner
on your own; doing so will expose you to danger and void the warranty.
It is your responsibility to ensure the unit is installed by a qualified
technician, who should check that it is earthed in accordance with
applicable regulations and install a thermomagnetic circuit breaker.
Read this manual thoroughly before installing and using the appliance.
It contains many important safety statements concerning the use of this
appliance. Always read and observe all safety statements. They reduce the
risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to.
Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference, along with any
warranty information, purchase receipt and carton. If applicable, pass these
instructions on to the next owner of the appliance.
Electrical Safety
• Voltage: Make sure your electrical voltage and circuit frequency
correspond to those indicated on the appliance rating plate.
• Power plug: Keep the power plug clean. To avoid the risk of electric shock,
overheating or fire, insert the plug correctly and firmly into the socket.
• Electrical outlet: Check and ensure that the socket is suitable for the plug,
otherwise have the socket changed; do not alter the plug. Use an exclusive
socket to avoid overloading the electrical circuit.
• No extension cord: Do not use the unit with an extension cord or adaptor.
• Power cord: Do not bend, tug or compress the power cord as this could
damage it. A damaged power cord can cause electric shock or fire.
• Damaged cord: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to
avoid a hazard. Contact our after sales support line for advice.
• Protect from water: Do not expose the indoor unit or remote control to
water. Doing so may cause electric shock, short circuit or fire. Do not touch
the power plug when barefoot or with wet hands.
• Do not disconnect during use: Pulling out the plug to switch off the
appliance when it is in operation could create a spark and cause a fire.
• When to disconnect: Ensure that the indoor unit is switched off and
disconnected from the power supply when it will remain inoperative for a
long period, before cleaning or maintenance and when a thunderstorm is
approaching. Grip the plug when disconnecting, do not pull the cord.

Usage Conditions and Restrictions
• Domestic use: This appliance has been made for air conditioning domestic
environments and may also be used by expert or trained users in shops,
light industry environments and farm houses.
• Intended purpose: This appliance should only be used as described
in this manual. It should not be used for any other purpose, such as for
drying clothes, cooling food etc. The appliance is not suitable for cooling
environments appropriate for long term storage of fresh food or precision
instrumentation, or for artistic production.
• Common sense: These instructions are not intended to cover every possible
condition and situation. As with any electrical household appliance, common
sense and caution are therefore always recommended when installing,
operating and maintaining the unit.
• Usage restriction: This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved.
• Children: Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not
play with the appliance.
• Dust filter: This appliance should always be used with the air filter mount-
ed. Operation without dust filter could cause an excessive accumulation of
dust on the interior parts with possible subsequent failures.
• Exposure to cold air flow: Never remain directly exposed to the flow of
cold air for a long time, as direct and prolonged exposure to cold air from
the air conditioner could be dangerous for your health. Do not direct the
airflow onto plants or animals, as long and direct exposure to cold air could
adversely affect them.
• Appropriate temperature: Take particular care with exposure to cold
air flow in rooms where there are children, old or sick people. The most
appropriate temperature should generally be no more than 5 degrees lower
than the outside temperature. Selecting the most suitable temperature can
also prevent damage to the unit.
• Ventilation: Do not obstruct the air inlet or outlet of the indoor or outdoor
unit. Obstructing openings reduces the operating efficiency of the air
conditioner with possible consequent failure or damage.
• Keep clear: Do not climb onto or place any objects on top of the outdoor
unit. Supervise children to ensure they do not sit on the outdoor unit.

Important Safety Instructions (Cont.)
• Air inlet/outlets and wind vanes: Never insert a finger, stick or similar
object into these openings. As a fan is rotating at a high speed, it will cause
injury and/or damage to the appliance. Do not touch the swinging wind
vanes. Doing so may trap your finger(s) and damage the driving parts of the
wind vanes.
• Windows and doors: To maximise efficiency, do not leave windows or
doors open for long when the air conditioner is operating. Open windows
frequently after using the air conditioner for a long time.
• Inappropriate locations: Do NOT install the air conditioner units:
in a place where there are flammable gases or liquids.
in a place where it is directly exposed to sunshine (indoor unit).
• Interference: In cases where severe interference from devices such
as mobile phones causes the air conditioner to shut off, switch off and
unplug the unit, then reconnect after several seconds and restart the air
conditioner.
Cleaning, Servicing and Repair
• Cleaning: Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance, make sure the
unit is disconnected from the mains electricity supply. Do not use liquid or
corrosive cleaning agents; do not spray and sprinkle liquid cleansers on the

• Plug: Keep the plug free of dust.
• Indoor unit: Only dust the indoor unit. Do not use liquid or corrosive
cleaning agents on any part of the indoor or outdoor units.
• Professional care: Cleaning and maintenance must be carried out by
specialised technical personnel.
• Repair: Only have the unit repaired by an authorised service centre. Do
not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Incorrect repair could expose you
to the risk of electric shock, fire or injury. Prolonged use of the unit in such
conditions could cause fire or electrocution.
Please refer to the Installation Manual for safety instructions
specific to the installation of the indoor and outdoor units.
ATTENTION!
Depending on the mains electricity supply, voltage drops may occur when

Before First Use
To prevent injury and property damage, make sure you read and understand
the instructions and advice listed below before operating the air conditioner.
• Make sure the indoor and outdoor units of the air conditioner have been
installed by a professional installer and the earth wire is connected safely.
• Check and ensure that the outdoor installation bracket is undamaged.
• Make sure the filter is properly fixed in its place.
• Check the filter and ensure it is clean before first use.
• Make sure that the air outlet and inlet are not blocked.
Important Safety Advice
The table below lists the air conditioner’s working temperature range, which is
required for efficient operation. If indoor or outdoor temperatures exceed the
temperatures listed, the indoor unit’s temperature protection function may be
activated and cooling or heating efficiency weakened.
The air conditioner may not be able to operate normally if temperatures rise
above (or fall below) those listed in the table below:
Cooling Outdoor
above 43ºC (applies to constant speed)
above 47ºC (applies to variable speed)
above 52ºC (applies to T3)
Indoor below 18ºC
Heating Outdoor
above 30ºC
below -7ºC (applies to constant speed)
below -12ºC (applies to variable speed)
Indoor above 30ºC
Important Notice: Refrigerant Gas R-410A
This air conditioner uses the refrigerant R-410A in a closed cooling circuit.
While this coolant has zero ozone depletion potential, it is a so-called
greenhouse gas under the Kyoto Protocol and may thus contribute to
global warming, if it is released into the atmosphere. Therefore only trained
technicians with an appropriate refrigerant certificate may service the
appliance for filling or emptying.
