1 Safety Precautions
1.1 General Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully. This is a pre-
requisite for safe and trouble-free operation of the chain
saw.
Keep the operating instructions for any further use or
another owner.
Observe safety instructions in the operator’s manual and
warning labels affixed to the chain saw.
1.1.1 User
Children and teens under the age of 16 must not use the
unit and all persons who are not familiar with the operat-
ing instructions with the exception of apprentices older
than 16 years under skilled supervision.
Persons under influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine as
well as persons who are not familiar with the operating
instructions must not use the unit.
1.1.2 Personal Protective Equipment
To avoid any injury to head or extremities, as well as any
damage to sense of hearing, it is necessary to wear rec-
ommended clothing and protective equipment.
The clothing must be close-fitting and it must not limit
your movement. If you have longer hair, wear hairnet
unconditionally.
Personal protective equipment includes:
Protective helmet
Hearing defenders (e.g. protective earflaps)
Protective glasses or face defender on the protective
helmet
Protective trousers with the protective filling in the
crotch
Firm work gloves
Safety shoes with non-slippery sole and steal shoe
top.
1.1.3 Working area
There must not be any other persons in the operating
area. Beware of children and of animals as well.
The user of the unit is responsible for any accidents
caused to other persons and damages to their property.
Remove all cut off parts and other objects – d a n g e r
o f s t u m b l e.
Ensure that your working area is well lit and do not use
the chainsaw in an environment where there is a risk of
fire or explosion.
1.1.4 Operating Time Lines
Observe operating time lines according to the lawn mow-
ing regulations (noise protection) specific for all countries.
Always use the unit in daylight or in good artificial light.
1.1.5 Operating
Operate the unit only after its complete assembly.
Inspect the unit’s appearance before operating it. The
unit must be in safe working condition.
Immediately replace parts that are cracked or chipped.
Operate the unit only in the technical condition as author-
ized by the producer.
Use only extension cords 3 x 1.5 mm² of grade H07RN-F
according to DIN 57282/57245 with splash-water pro-
tected plug and socket. Cable drums must be unwound
completely.
The use of a line safety switch 16 A as well as a fault
current breaker with a rated fault current of 10 mA are
recommended.
Do not use damaged power cords or extension cords. If a
cord is damaged during use of the chain saw, discontinue
using it immediately and pull the plug out of the mains
socket.
Beware of danger of electric shock. Avoid touching metal
objects that are in the ground or with which these are
electrically connected.
Do not use the chain saw in the rain, snow or in stormy
weather. Do not use the saw in a damp or wet environ-
ment.
Never remove any safety and protective devices of the
unit.
The user always has to be in a safe standing while work-
ing with the chain saw.
Before you start any work, replace possible foreign ob-
jects from the cut object, which will avoid kickbacks.
Always hold the chain saw in both hands – hold the rear
handle with the right hand, the front handle with the left
hand.
Never use the chain saw above your shoulder level, be-
cause the manipulation is not safe on this level.
Keep the handles dry, clean and free of oil.
We recommend that you only saw trunks that are not
thicker than the length of the cutting sword.
Always carry and move the chain saw with the chain
stopped.
When transporting your chain saw, make sure the appro-
priate guide bar cover is in place and the engine is
stopped.
Only use the power cable for its intended purpose. The
chainsaw must never be lifted or carried by the power
cord. Never pull on the power cord to remove the plug
from the socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil and
sharp edges.
Always carry the chain saw by the rear handle with the
muffler away from your body directed to the back.
If you do not use the unit, always cover the chain saw
with the guide bar cover.
To operate a chain saw for woodcutting of trees
and cutting of branches, you need rich experi-
ence – operate the unit only under the assis-
tance of professionally skilled staff.

GB 2
Danger of kickback. Kickback can cause fatal
injury.
When working with the chain saw, there can appear a
kickback.
This kickback can be caused when the top ending of the
guide bar touches the wood or any other firm object.
At this moment, the chain saw stops to be controllable
and it is kickbacked with high velocity in the direction to
the user. This can cause severe injury.
Avoid touching wire fences, the underground and other
hard materials by a running saw.
If you want to avoid kickbacks, follow these instructions:
Hold the chain saw firmly in both hands.
Start cutting when the unit is already running.
Never cut using the top of the guide bar.
Always watch the end of the guide bar.
Never use the chain saw with the stretched arms.
Never cut on the ladder or above the shoulder level.
Be careful when going on with the started cut.
Never work too much leaned to the front.
Never cut more brunches at the same time.
Always work with the correctly sharpened and tight
saw chain.
Release the chain saw out of the cut only when the
saw chain is running.
