1 PRODUCT OVERVIEW
This Alecto IP-Camera is a security monitor, suitable for indoor use. The camera can be used for
monitoring a corridor or room, or for the observation of babies, small children or pets:
A signal will be sent from the camera through the UTP cable or Wi-Fi signal to your Internet modem.
You can watch and listen to the image on the camera using your tablet, smart phone or PC.
You can set up an easy connection with the camera through our Real Plug & Play system using a
UID (Unique Identication) code. After initially setting up the camera you can also get an internet
connection to the camera image using GSM internet or external WiFi.
The sound will be transmitted once this is activated in the software.
It is possible to rotate the camera. The rotation of the camera can be completely remote controlled -
whether you use a smart phone or a PC to view the image.
The camera is equipped with night lights which clearly lights up objects in the dark that are located
within 5 meters of the camera.
If everything is working properly, it is advisable to pick your own password. The default password is
not unique and if unchanged others may be able to view using your UID code.
PLEASE NOTE: The app. is designed for controlling multiple types of cameras. There may be
features in the app. however which are not supported by this camera.

2 REGISTERING
2.1 CONNECTING THE IP CAMERA TO THE MODEM
1. First connect the IP Camera, using the included network cable, to a free port on your
internet modem or network router.
2. For Wi-Fi use: for setting up the WiFi see section 4.6. Remove the network cable
after entering the WiFi data. The WiFi can only be entered after a stable connection is
established with a network cable.
3. Connect the supplied power adapter to the IP Camera and plug it into an electrical outlet.
If the modem or network router is connected to the Internet, the camera will search for a
connection with the server.
Regardless of whether there is an Internet connection, the camera will still setup.

2.2 REGISTER ON AN ANDROID SMART PHONE OR TABLET .
1. Connect the IP camera, as described in section 2.1.
2. Download a QR code scanner (e.g. barcode scanner) from the Google Play store, if you
have not done so already.
3. Search the Google Play Store for the free ‘Alecto Security’ app to download and install.
4. Start the Alecto Security App. (make sure you use the same WiFi network that your
camera is connected to).
5. Press the text “Click here to add camera’.
6. You can activate the camera in three ways through: A. QR code, B. Network Scan, or C.
Manually.
A. Press the ‘Scan’ button so that the QR code scanner (if you have installed the App.) will
scan the UID-code located at the back of the camera.
B. Press the ‘Search’ button to search for available cameras on the same network that
your Smartphone/Tablet is logged on. This only works if the Smart phone or Tablet is
connected with the same WiFi router or modem as the camera is connected to. A popup
screen(s) will show the camera(s) which are found. Choose a camera.
C. Tap directly on the blank space next to “UID” in order to enter the UID code manually.
The UID code can be found on the label located at the bottom of the camera.
7. Now click on the empty space next to password and enter the password. By default the
password is 123456. This can and SHOULD be changed later to your own password.
Failure to do this is a security risk as third parties may gain access to your images. (See
section 4.6).
8. Under “Name” change the name of the camera to your own chosen name.
9. Now click on “ok”.
10.There should now be an established connection with the camera. Under the word ‘camera’
is the word ‘connect’. When there is an established connection, the word ‘connect’ will
change to ‘online’. There will now be an established connection with the camera. Press on
the name of the camera in order to view the live image.
11. Should you receive an ‘Unknown Device’ or ‘Ofine’ notication press the button then
the Reconnect re-connect’ button.

4 OPERATION USINGTHE ANDROID APP.
We assume that the camera is logged on to the network correctly and that the camera can connect to
the internet.
4.1 Starting up the App.
Start up the Alecto Security application. Click on the Alecto Security icon on your smart phone or
tablet.
The following screen will appear.
If the app. has taken live image, a small snapshot picture of the last live image
will be located on the left side of the camera name. If there has never been a
connection with the camera, only an empty box will appear.
If in addition to the snapshot you see words “Online” then there is an
established connection with the camera and you can press on the snapshot (

4.2 View Live Image.
Information about the app. will be shown above the image when viewing the
live image on a smart phone.
Online: indicates that you are connected to the camera
640x480: screen resolution
User (s): 1 this is the number of devices (smart phones or tablets) that are
currently active and connected to the camera.
Connection: The image quality of the input image signal (in this case, a
maximum).
By swiping the image on screen the head of the camera can be moved.

4.3 Operating the Live View .
Smartphone:
There are two icons for snapshot (snapshot) located under the image.
Press the button to take a snapshot of the image. The text “Picture saved”
will appear in the image. The picture will be stored on the Android device.
Press the key to view all the photos in the photo album.
Press on a small picture in order to enlarge it or hold down on the photo button
to erase it
Press the Back button to return to the Android live image.
Send sound.
During the start up, all the sounds will be muted.
Press on ‘SILENCE’ in order to open the Popup window
You can now choose from the following items:
Mute: No sound
Listen: Listen to the sounds coming from the camera
Talk: Talking into the area where the camera is located
Before speaking into the camera the external loud speaker must be connected. The speaker can be
connected by the 3.5mm stereo jack plug to the camera.
Tablet:
The icons and control functions described above will appear at the top of the Android tablet screen.
Press the back button on the Android to return back to the home screen.
4.4 Other controls in the start up screen
On the right upper side of the screen you will nd following icon .
Press on the icon for the following functions:
Add: To add new or additional camera
About: Information about the Alecto Security application
Exit: Exit Application.

4.5 Additional settings and functions.
Press the button to go to the additional settings and functions.
The following screen will appear.
Reconnect: The smart phone or tablet will attempt to connect again to the
camera.
Edit Camera: To operate the advanced settings.
View Snapshot: View Snapshots.
Remove Camera: Remove Camera from the app.
Reconnect: Press this button to reconnect the app. to the camera. The start
screen will appear again.
Edit Camera: This screen shows the UID code where the Password and
Name can be adjusted. Then press the “ok” button to save your settings. In this
screen you can also go to the advanced settings by clicking on the “advanced
settings” (see section 4.6).
View Snapshot: All the photos taken can be viewed in this album.
Remove Camera: Press this button on the display to remove the selected
camera from the app. After clicking on this button a pop up screen will appear
asking you if you want to delete the camera.

4.6 Changing Camera Settings
Press the “Advanced” button in the opposite screen.
In the settings screen you can rst read all the settings of the camera. This may
take several seconds. The time will be dependent on the quality and bandwidth
of the connection.
The following functions can be changed in this screen.
Security Code Setting: Change the password.
Video Setting: Change picture settings.
Sound Detection: Set the level of sound for when an alarm is to be sent
Event Setting: Setting an alarm for the detection of motion in the image.
WiFi Setting: WiFi settings of the IP Camera.
Time Zone: To set the correct time on the display. The time is controlled by the
network
Device Information: All the information about the camera is shown here.
Change Password: Press this button in order to change
the password. To ensure a secure connection the
factory password should be changed. First enter the old
password and then enter the new password. Verify the
new password again and press “OK”.
A connection will be re-established.
Any other connected smart phones and tablets will
continue to remain connected. If these smart phones or
tablets reconnect to the camera, the password needs
to be changed in the screen which says “Change
Password”.

Changing Video Setting.
Video Setting: The following three items can be set here:
Video Quality, Video Flip en Environment Mode.
Video Quality: You can set the video compression and resolution here. The
following values can be selected: Maximum, Medium, and Minimum. The
standard High and Low have no function.
The highest quality image will be shown at the “Maximum” level. The minimum
image quality will be shown at the “Minimal” level. At the best picture level, an
increased bandwidth is required for a faster connection. For a minimal image a
lower bandwidth with a lower speed of the network should be sufcient. A slow
connection used in combination with a too high bandwidth can cause a shock
to the image resulting in a slight delay. It is advised to set a lower quality should
this be the case.
Video Flip: The picture mode can be adjusted here. You can choose from the
following settings: Normal, Flip, Mirror, and Flip & Mirror.
Normal: Displays a normal picture.
Flip: The image will be turned 180°. If the camera is turned upside down for
example.
Mirror: The picture will be shown as a mirror image.
Flip & mirror: The image displayed is mirrored and rotated 180°.

Environment Mode: : Image settings depending on the brightness of the
surroundings. There is a choice of either Inside mode (50Hz), Inside mode
(60Hz), Outside or Night mode. Use the indoor mode (50Hz) when there is
bright light and Night mode in low or no light.
Sound Detection.
Sound Level: You can set the level of sound here for when an alarm is to be sent. The following
available sound levels are: Maximum, High, Medium, Low and Off.
Take Note: The alarm sound will not affect the sound of the volume when watching the live view. The
volume level must be set on your smart phone or tablet.
Trigger Duration: You can set the length of time here for the level of sound when an alarm message
is sent. It can be adjusted from between 1 to 5 seconds.
Notication: What alarm signal would you like to have? You can choose from: Silent, Sound,
Vibration, Sound and Vibration. The Vibration only works if supported by the smart phone or tablet.
