IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce
the risk of electric shock and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT.
2. Do not use outdoors.
3. Do not immerse in water.
4. Ensure that your mains supply voltage is the same as marked on the typeplate of your
appliance.
5. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not immerse power cord, plug or motor unit
in water or other liquid.
6. Use a dry cloth to clean the motor unit.
7. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before fitting or removing parts and before cleaning.
8. Do not operate the appliance other than it’s intended use in order to avoid the potential
injury from misuse.
9. In order to avoid any hazard, do not operate the product with a damaged cord or plug, or
after the appliance has malfunctioned or been damaged in any way. Return the appliance
to the nearest authorized service facility for inspection, repair or electrical or mechanical
adjustment.
10. Wash the cone, filter and container with warm water and washing-up liquid. Rinse and
dry thoroughly before next use. For more details, please see the following cleaning section
11. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
12. The use of accessory attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may
cause fire, electric shock or injury.
13. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of tables or counters or anywhere it may be
accidentally caught or tripped over.
14. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces such as stoves.
15. Do not place the product on or near hot gas burners or electric burners, or in a heated
oven.
16. After unpacking the appliance, be sure to dispose carefully of the plastic bags so that they
are out of the reach of children and the infirm.
17. Do not use the appliance for purposes other than those intended.
18. To disconnect the juicer, wait until the motor stops, then remove the plug from the wall
outlet.
19. Avoid contacting moving parts.
20. Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before
assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
21. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they
understand the hazards involved.
22. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8
years and above and supervised.
23. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
24. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
25. Children shall not play with the appliance.

SHORT CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
• A short power cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting of becoming entangled in or
tripping over a long cord.
• Longer, detachable power supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used
if care is exercised in their use.
• If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating should be at least equal to the
appliance electrical rating. If the appliance is provided with earthed type 3-wire cord, the
extension should be a GROUNDING TYPE 3-WIRE CORD. The longer cord should be
arranged so that it does not hang over the counter top or table where it can be pulled on
by children or tripped over.
For U.K. and Ireland only:
This appliance is supplied with a non-rewirable 13 Amp. plug.
The plug must never be used without fitting the fuse cover.
If a replacement fuse cover is required, it must be of the same type or colour as the coloured
insert around the fuse cover.
Replacement fuse covers are available from Electrical Retailers.
Replacement 13 Amp. fuses must be BSI or ASTA BS 1362 approved.
Important safety information
If the non-rewirable plug is not suitable for the socket outlets in your home, it can be removed
and replaced by a plug of the correct type.
The non-rewirable plug must be cut from the mains cord, the fuse removed, and the plug
safely discarded to prevent further use.
The removed plug can be hazardous if inserted into a live mains socket.
Fitting a Plug
IMPORTANT: The wires in the mains lead are coloured according to the following code:
BLUE - NEUTRAL
BROWN - LIVE
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
The BLUE wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “N” or
coloured BLACK.
The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “L” or
coloured RED.
DO NOT CONNECT either of these wires to the earth terminal in the plug marked with the
letter “E” or with the earth symbol or coloured GREEN, or GREEN and YELLOW.
If a 13 Amp. 3-pin plug is fitted, it must be an “approved” plug, in compliance with BS 1363-
1986. Note: If the plug terminals are unmarked or if you are in any doubt, consult a qualified
electrician.

Lors de l’utilisation d’appareils électriques, il est nécessaire de toujours respecter les
précautions de sécurité afin d’éviter le risque de décharge électrique et/ou de lésions physiques
aux personnes. Il faut respecter en particulier les indications suivantes:
1. LIRE TOUTES LES INSTRUCTIONS AVANT D’UTILISER L’APPAREIL.
2. Ne pas utiliser à l’extérieur.
3. Ne jamais plonger l’appareil dans l’eau.
4. Assurez-vous que la tension de l’alimentation électrique correspond à celle qui est
indiquée sur la plaquette de l’appareil.
5. Pour éviter le risque de décharge électrique, ne pas plonger le cordon, la fiche ou le bloc-
moteur dans de l’eau ou tout autre liquide.
6. Utiliser un chiffon sec pour nettoyer le bloc-moteur.
7. Débrancher la fiche de la prise quand l’appareil n’est pas utilisé, avant de monter ou de
démonter les parties mobiles et avant de le nettoyer.
8. Ne pas faire fonctionner l’appareil pour un usage différent de celui pour lequel il est
prévu afin d’éviter des blessures potentielles suite à une mauvaise utilisation.
9. Afin d’éviter tout risque, ne pas utiliser l’appareil si le cordon ou la fiche sont détériorés
ou si l’appareil ne fonctionne pas bien ou est endommagé de quelque manière que ce
soit. Envoyer l’appareil dans un centre de service après-vente agréé pour le contrôle, la
réparation ou le réglage électrique ou mécanique.
10. Laver le cône, le filtre et le récipient avec de l’eau chaude et du liquide de vaisselle. Rincer
et sécher complètement avant la prochaine utilisation. Pour plus de détails, prière de
consulter la section de nettoyage suivante.
11. Il est nécessaire de surveiller attentivement l’appareil s’il est utilisé par des enfants ou à
proximité d’enfants.
12. L’utilisation d’accessoires non recommandés ou vendus par le producteur peut causer un
incendie, une décharge électrique ou des lésions physiques.
13. Ne pas laisser le cordon pendre du bord de la table ou des comptoirs, et ne pas le laisser
dans toutes les positions où il pourrait s’emmêler ou faire trébucher quelqu’un.
14. Ne pas laisser le cordon en contact avec des surfaces chaudes, telles que les plans de
cuisson ou les poêles.
15. Ne pas poser l’appareil sur des brûleurs à gaz ou électriques ou à proximité, ou dans un
four chaud.
16. Après avoir déballé l’appareil, veiller à évacuer correctement les emballages, en particulier
les sachets en plastique, afin qu’ils restent hors de portée des enfants.
17. Ne pas utiliser l’appareil pour des emplois différents de ceux qui sont indiqués par le
producteur.
18. Pour débrancher l’appareil, attendre que le moteur se soit arrêté puis retirer la fiche de la
prise.
19. Eviter de toucher les parties en mouvement.
20. Toujours débrancher l’appareil de l’alimentation lorsque celui-ci est laissé sans
surveillance et avant le montage, le démontage et le nettoyage.
21. Cet appareil peut être utilisé par des enfants à partir de 8 ans s’ils le font sous la
surveillance d’un adulte ou s’ils ont reçu les instructions nécessaires pour l’utilisation de
l’appareil en toute sécurité et s’ils comprennent les risques encourus.

INSTRUCTIONS POUR CORDONS SPÉCIAUX
• L’appareil est équipé d’un cordon court afin d’éviter qu’il ne s’emmêle et afin de réduire
le risque de trébucher dans un cordon long.
• Il est d’utiliser des cordons plus longs et des rallonges en faisant attention durant
l’utilisation.
• Si l’on utilise une rallonge, ses caractéristiques électriques doivent être au moins égales ou
supérieures à celles de l’appareil. Si l’appareil est équipé d’un cordon avec mise à la terre,
la rallonge doit elle aussi être du type avec mise à la terre. Si le cordon est plus long, il doit
être installé de manière à ne pas pendre du bord des tables et des comptoirs et, dans tous
les cas, de sorte qu’il ne puisse pas être tiré par des enfants ou faire trébucher quelqu’un.
