game co soles, computers, a d IP Set top boxes, dema d u hi dered high-quality data
tra smissio s to reach their optimum performa ce. These are ofte resolved by usi g
drastic le gths of cables which are ofte co sidered impractical whe co sideri g
today’s i ovatio . ALL1681205, ALLNET’s fastest a d reliable 1200Mbps HomePlug
AV2 complia t device, u iquely a swers to this eed. It provides ot o ly a lot of great
etworki g be efits but is also a device which does ot i volve complex co figuratio s
to setup, is easy to use, a d at the same time e ergy efficie t as well.
The ALL1681205 was desig ed with the valued customers i mi d. To maximize the
usage of power outlets, the ALL1681205 is built with its ow pass through. I co cept,
you are simply pluggi g i a power outlet i to your power outlet. No power outlets are
wasted whe ever you are usi g your ALL1681205. It is truly i ovatio at its fi est. I
additio , it is built with (2) Gigabit Ether et ports. This allows you to co ect two
Ether et devices (e.g. computer, laptop) directly to your HomePlug.
HomePlug AV/AV2 devices u like regular routers a d access poi ts that are easily
hi dered by dista ce a d walls, makes use of your home’s existi g electrical wiri g as a
path to create a secured etwork of computers a d Ether et devices. This mea s that
your i ter et co ectio is ot easily hi dered by walls a d other i terfere ces emitted
by regular household devices. Your etwork basically flows withi your walls! I
additio , your HomePlug AV2 is a powerli e etworki g tech ology specifically made
to meet ba dwidth hu gry multimedia devices withi your home, allowi g it to
become a great part er whe doi g HD A/V streami g, o li e gami g, a d other
i ter et activities that are k ow for high ba dwidth co sumptio . HomePlug AV2
devices are also backward compatible to other HomePlug AV tech ologies, allowi g it
to work with previous HomePlug AV i ovatio s as well.

How Does It Work?
HomePlug AV2 utilizes the existi g electrical wiri g i the house as a path to create a
secured etwork of computers a d Ether et devices. With a maximum data rate of up
to 1Gbps, HomePlug AV2 ca reliably ha dle high requireme t applicatio s like
broadba d I ter et, high defi itio video streami g, a d Voice over IP.
HomePlug AV2 co verts digital sig als to a complex a alog sig al that traverses alo g
the electrical wires. Whe receivi g the a alog sig al, HomePlug AV2 co verts the
a alog sig al back to digital. To make the sig al secured, a 128-bit AES e cryptio is
applied.
A HomePlug AV2 device ca o ly commu icate with other HomePlug AV2 devices that
use the same Private Network Name. The Private Network Name ca be easily cha ged
i two ways. (1) is through the HomePlug AV2 Utility software. It ca be cha ged
ma ually usi g the HomePlug AV2 Utility software o a computer with a Wi dows
operati g system. Whe you use the software, you have to ma ually type the Private
Network Name for the device; (2) Is through the Simple Co ect butto . The Simple
Co ect butto automatically creates a e crypted Private Network Name. It ca also
be used to reset the Private Network Name or to add a device i to a existi g
HomePlug AV2 etwork.
Note: HomePlug AV2 devices are effective whe used i pairs. The Twi packs are
already co figured to use a commo Private Network Name u ique for that pair a d
are ready to use without i volvi g a y complex co figuratio s. The HomePlug AV2
from a Si gle Pack o the other ha d, uses a ra dom Private Network Name. You still
eed to cha ge its Private Network Name to allow it to commu icate with a
existi g HomePlug AV2 etwork.
Whe a HomePlug AV2 commu icates with a other device, the Powerli e Activity LED
color will i dicate the status of the co ectio rate it provides: Red mea s below 30
Mbps; Amber mea s 30 to 120 Mbps; a d Gree mea s more tha 120 Mbps.

For best performa ce, co ect the HomePlug AV2 directly to a wall outlet. Avoid
co ecti g it to a power strip where other electrical devices are co ected. Other
devices produce electrical oise or i terfere ces that may affect the overall
performa ce of your HomePlug AV2.
Note: You may use the built-i pass through as a power outlet.

Pairi g the Device
Your HomePlug AV2 devices by default are preco figured to have a commo Private
Network Name. Setti g up your HomePlug AV2 etwork is as easy as 1,2 a d 3.
1. It is advisable that you plug i your HomePlug AV2 devices side by side to easily
observe the LED behaviors of each HomePlug AV2. Wait u til the Power a d PL-ACT
LED tur s ON to co firm that the co ectio has bee established
2. I ROOM A plug i your HomePlug AV2 i to the wall socket the co ect it to your
modem router’s Ether et port usi g a Ether et cable.
3. I ROOM B plug i your HomePlug AV2 i to the wall socket the co ect it to your
computer’s Ether et Port usi g a Ether et cable. Your HomePlug AV2 is ow ready
to use.

How to Use the Simple Co ect Butto
Simple Co ect provides a more co ve ie t way of creati g your HomePlug AV2
etwork without the eed to ope the HomePlug AV2 Utility software from a
computer. The butto has three mai fu ctio s which i clude:

Resetti g the Private Network Name
Simple Co ect allows you to reset the HomePlug AV2’s Private Network Name to a
ra dom key. Whe a HomePlug AV2 is reset to a ra dom key, it will ot be able to
commu icate with a y other device.
Note: Resetti g the Private Network Name is differe t from resetti g the device to its
factory default setti gs. If you i te d to reset the device to its factory default setti gs,
press RESET o the device for 3 seco ds.
To reset the Private Network Name usi g Simple Co ect:
Step 1
O HomePlug X, Press the Simple Co ect
butto for 10 seco ds. Power LED a d
Ether et LED will tur OFF a d tur ON
(Ether et is co ected). The Powerli e
Activity LED will switch OFF o both u its.
Step 2
O the seco d adapter (HomePlug Y),
press the Simple Co ect butto for 2
seco ds a d do it o the first adapter to
pair the devices. The Power LED will bli k
to i dicate that the butto is pressed.

Creati g a Secured HomePlug AV2 Network
To create a HomePlug AV2 etwork, you eed at least two HomePlug AV2 devices
usi g ra dom Private Network Names. Whe you press Simple Co ect for 10 seco ds
o both devices, a commo Private Network Name will be automatically ge erated to
e able them to commu icate with each other.
Note: New HomePlug AV2 ca already commu icate with each other o ce out of the
box a d plugged. However, if you i te d to create a ew Private Network Name usi g
Simple Co ect for both devices, you eed to reset their Private Network Names to a
ra dom key before proceedi g .
To create a Secured HomePlug AV2 etwork usi g Simple Co ect:
Step 1
Plug your HomePlug AV2s side by side where you ca easily observe the LED behavior.
Upo co ectio , the Ether et LEDs will bli k simulta eously a d the the Power LED
a d Powerli e Activity LED lights o steadily.
Press the Simple Co ect butto of HomePlug AV2 X for 10 seco ds. Powerli e
Activity LED will tur OFF. Power LED will Tur OFF a d ON i dicati g that the Private
Network Name has bee ra domized.

Step 2
Press the Simple Co ect butto for 2 seco ds o HomePlug Y. After you release the
butto , the Power LED will bli k. If the Power LED did ot bli k, press Simple
Co ect agai for two seco ds.

Step 3
Press Simple Co ect for two seco ds o HomePlug X. After you release the butto , the
Power LED will bli k. If the Power LED did ot bli k, press Simple Co ect agai
for two seco ds.
Pairi g betwee two devices are o ly give two mi utes upo pressi g the Simple
Co ect butto for two seco ds o HomePlug Y. After pressi g Simple Co ect o
HomePlug Y, make sure to press Simple Co ect o HomePlug X withi two mi utes to
e sure a successful co ectio , otherwise repeat steps 2 a d 3 u til the LEDs of both
devices switch OFF a d o twice, i dicati g that they are paired with o e a other.

To co firm if the co ectio was established, check the LEDs. The Power LEDs a d
the Powerli e Activity LEDs o both HomePlugs are ON.
