Operating Instructions
GB
Always ensure that you are aware of the direction of travel when using the roller striker. If you incorrectly
engage the drive mechanism you will not only endager yourself , but also endager the other operator(s)
CAUTION
Take the Roller Striker to where it is required.
If the Roller Striker is to be transported to another location, ensure that the Striker is not rotating and that the Hydraulic / Pneumatic
pipes are disconnected. NEVER transport the Roller Striker whilst it is still connected to the Drive source, even if it is only being moved
a short distance.
When using a sectional roller striker, ensure:
a) that the indIvidual tubes have been disassembled fully before transporting.
b) that the tubes have been correctly connected together before using the machine.
Having carried out the checks listed in the ‘pre start’ section, you may connect it to the drive source and move the control
lever to the ON or DRIVE position.
When positioned correctly the tube will start rotating away from the operator. Ensure that the other operative knows you are going to
start the machine. ALWAYS check the tube for any signs of unusual noise. If this occurs, stop the machine immediately and refer to the
troubleshooting section. The Roller Striker will then require a consistent pulling movement to attain a consistent nish.
Communication.
Bad communication can cause accidents. If two or more people are working with the machine, make sure that each person is aware of
what the others are doing. Before starting the machine make sure that others are clear of the danger areas. People can be seriously
injured or even killed if these precautions are not taken. Keep people around you informed of what you will be doing. If you will be
working with other people, make sure that they understand any hand signals that you intend to use. Work sites can be very noisy - do
not rely on spoken commands.
