1.0 Introduction
These operating instructions cover all models in the EPM 2000 Series.
Therefore, some of the options described may not apply to this
instrument. Please check the functions of the instrument you have
purchased before proceeding. If in doubt, the type designation will
appear on the display when the instrument is switched on.

Warning
Particular care should be taken not to overpressure
the instrument as this may damage the pressure
sensor inside the instrument. This is not covered by
the warranty.
NOTE:The differential/gauge instruments will only measure
positive pressures i.e. positive pressure applied to the
positive port, or negative pressure applied to the negative
port.
Instrument application
The range of EPM-2000 instruments is suitable for gauge, differential,
or absolute measurements over a wide range of pressures depending
on the type of instrument you have chosen.
They are not suitable for use with corrosive substances or cylic
hydrocarbons, e.g. motor oil, transmission fluid and freon. To use the
EPM-2000 with these components, isolation must be provided in form
of a separator.
Batteries
Two type AA batteries (Penlight) supplied.
Follow instructions on reverse of instrument for fitting/replacement.
When symbol appears on display, replace batteries.
Serial No.
The S/N of the EPM instruments is placed under the batteries. This will
secure that the number is not being removed by accident or by wear
and tear.
Table of units (conversion between different pressure units)
If possible, you should always use the pressure units available in the
EPM instrument. This will prevent conversion errors and make the use
easier and faster.

2.0 Operating the instrument
2.1 Switch on/Switch off
Press to switch on and to switch off. The instrument
will automatically switch off after 12 min. unless MIN/MAX function is
activated.
If key is held when unit is switched on, the automatic switch off
function will be disabled.
2.2 Back light
Press and hold key . Light will be on as long as the key is held.
2.3 Symbol display

2.4 Overpressure
If display shows OUT you should immediately remove the overpressure
from the instrument. Please also pay attention to pressure peaks, which
are not registered by the instrument.
2.5 MAX/MIN function
This function is activated by pressing the key. The instrument will
display the alternating ∧∨ symbols and the current reading. Press
again to show MAX maximum pressure reading and the ∧symbol will
be displayed. Press again to show MIN pressure reading and the ∨
symbol will be displayed. Press again to return to the actual pressure
display.
NOTE: Unit must be switched off to exit the MAX/MIN function.
2.6 Data hold
Pressing the key freezes the measurement value and the
symbol will appear on the display. Press once more to return to normal
display.
2.7 Selection of pressure units
Press the key to select required pressure units. Choose between
mbar/bar, PSI, kPa, inHg, mHg, inH2O and mH2O. This function cannot
be used in connection with the Data Hold and MAX/MIN functions.
These functions will be indicated in the display by the∧, ∨or
symbols.
